Good Free game and surely, not Pay-to-Win. You can actually enjoy leveling your character in-game, with or without the help of others. But the community is very helpful if you know how to ask.

Great soundtrack, cool sound effects, beautiful graphics (if you got a decent PC setup).

The action might get linear after getting your first 40-level Battleframe, but after that it get more easy to enjoy all that happens around you.

Like the game description says: "... constantly changing world, deep narrative, endless customization, and rewarding player progression, Firefall will consistently deliver spectacular content that will please both PvE and PvP players", i guarantee it to be true.

Firefall is a open-world game that is fun for the first several hours, but then gets repetitive as there is not a whole lot to do besides begin leveling the upgraded counterpart after getting max rank. The game starts you off landing on copacobana, a resort town surrounded by a beach on one side and a forest on the other. You have multiple battleframes to choose from to suit your play style, such as the assault, recon, or the engineer. With each battleframe you get to max level you can unlock a advanced frame that sports new abilities and access to a new primary weapon.
The world allows you to reach max level without touching a job board do to the abunance of ares missions that are scattered around the map. They will give you as much if not more experience than doing a job board mission in a fraction of the time, however the game is a huge grindfest and gets downright aggravating at times.
The gameplay is alot like a watered down borderlands mixed with warframe. You fight dangerous wildlife, rouge bandits, and the infamous chosen which is humanitys main foe. There is not a whole lot to do in the game besides grind, grind, and grind some more. After leveling my second battleframe I tried yet again to begin leveling another battleframe, but i couldn't bring myself to go through the tedious grind for a third time.
When i was reading chat, every now and then the conversation would lean toward talking about the beta and how great it was compared to the way it is now. I did not have the chance to play the beta, but then i think i would be even more dissapointed in the game like so many others who have played and reviewed this game. It is very repetive, lacks content, and is honestly a snoozefest that couldn't keep my interest. Save yourself the time and the hard drive space for something better than Firefall.

Like just about all MMO's out there, Firefall has is an amazing game when you are leveling all the frames and stuff, hell the storyline is legit too. However, due to a lack of a raid/group finder tool, it has a terrible end-game unless you're in one of the very few hardcore clans who are pushing pvp or pve content. The saving grace for it tho is all end-game content is PUGable atm so it's not impossible hehe. ^^ Overall I give it 8.5/10!

I highly recommend this game. It gives a thought of a beautiful place, the music, THE GUITAR, naw bruh, I'm kidding but still, this game is definitely good to play with. Experience whole new different places that you have never seen before! Live a life out there, fly by guiders, futuristic because of the outfits and gears, villages.... The nostalgic <:) perhaps I spelt it wrong..... It's like living in nature, having competitions between different players, some maybe rhetorical or repetitive but do missions and continue storylines..... Storylines are interesting to follow for most people which I believe and MANY MORE!!!!! That is why I believe this game should be recommended to all because it gives nature experiences basically. But it all depends on opinions, opinion dependent. :DDDD

It's a good game that has had a troubled development history, in part because of particular member of management who is no longer with the company. The game itself is fun and is evolving. However, if you are looking for another WoW with well-defined objectives and quests, this is not your game. There certainly are things that can be goals to work toward, but how you approach the game is up to you. You are not funneled down the same path as everyone else.

This game was pretty good untill the company implimented a global 50% aoe nerf just because they considered pvp to be "unbalanced" The problem is though PvP doesnt even work right now so how can they just go and nerf all the AoE in the game just because of a feature that doesnt even work properly yet?

The real problem with this Aoe nerf is that hey also nerfed classes in the game that are based on AOE. For instance the tigerclaw shoot large plasma balls that before patch were supposed to cover a 4m radius unmodded. so now thats only a 2m radius which is only a little longer than the height of an average person, or in this case a mob in the game. meaning the class now gets steam rolled because its AOE dependant. so all the AOE classes in the game are hurt now because they cant use any direct damage weapons unless its a secondary weapon and secondary weapons do signifigantly less damage than primary weapon damage.

The game is completely ruined now and only sniper classes are any good in the game.

But what about Rapid fire classes such as dreadnaught? NOPE they also implimented a 50% fire rate reduction. so now those miniguns the dreadnaughts have only have the firerate of about a medium fire rate assault riffle instead of a full fire rate minigun. or even a full fire rate assault rifle.

The devs made a poor choice and any appears to undo this has been denied by the devs. Again currently sniper classes are the ONLY good classes in the game right now. Everything else is pretty much crap now because of the nerf.

If you enjoy the freedom of movement as well as MMO elements in a first person/ 3rd person shooter, then Firefall is the game for you! Although I feel there should be more variety in equipment for each Battleframe (Like how the Accord Assault can use a regular plasma cannon and a flak plasma cannon).

Overall I'd give it a 4.5/5

All I can say about this piece of trash is horrible basic gameplay, bland environment details and unless you want to throw $20 for a new class this game is not for you.

I was looking forward to this game during beta but they've completely ruined it by their lack of originality and lack of content. (granted, yes it was only released a couple of months ago) I'm not angry with the game, but the game developers. Firefall is just NOT fun to play.

I give it a 5/10 at best. Better luck next time

This gets a lot of negative reviews for its "repetitive" gameplay, but that is the reality for most games of this generation. In fact, battlefield 4 has about 4-9 gameplay modes and call of duty is call of duty.

Great gameplay

One of the most beautifully stylized free-to-play games i have played in my life. The smooth blend of first and third-person gameplay allows for you to play in your comfort zone at all times and the game has beautiful visuals. The voice acting is great and the character-customization is also good. What is lacking however is the combat system's fluidity as the mobs i encounter seem rather clunky at times. Also there is a very blatant element of Pay-to-play boosting throughout almost all elements of the game, which may throw many people from downloading Firefall, but it hasn't had any effect on my gameplay thus far.
As for learning the game at first glance, there is barely a tutorial to show you to assign hot-keys and to use your core abilities that come with every class, although the narrator that "accompanies" you throughout the game does lend a helping hand from time to time with tips and tidbits here and there. The depth of the computer's aid could go a long way into making the game easier to learn from the get-go and generally more enjoyable in doing so.

Overall there is no reason for you to hold back on playing this game because it's free-to-play and enjoyable on the whole, so far.

There's a lot of bad reviews for the game considering how it was in beta for so long and the game stagnated, but they have fixed things this game is pretty damn good now.

Wouldn't run, moving my mouse around just covers the screen up in random things, most likely randomly from the game's files (Often a random mob of any random level and a health bar, then it will keep showing that until my screen is clogged up with about 20 of that mob's health bar, then it likes to start showing me more trash from the game files, clogging the screen up even more)

This is the first open world MMO since WoW back in 2006/7 that I feel like I can actually seriously recommend to people. It took me some time to warm up to, the tutorial isn't very good and it's hard to keep up motivation to really give it a fair shake, but after a day or two of beating my head against it everything finally clicked and I ended up getting really into playing.

That's not to say that this game is perfect. The gameplay isn't fantastic, missions have several design choices that I find questionable. I can't really bring myself to care about the story of the game (although that problem probably resides between my keyboard and my chair). There's nothing particularly fantastic about it that you can point to and be like "look, this game does this better than most others".

However it all strangely comes together. The quests are generally easy enough to do that it lets the good part of the combat shine through, there are plenty of quests to do and you move around frequently enough that it doesn't really ever feel like you're grinding like so many other modern MMOs feel like. Each quest is fully voice acted too, and while it can drag on sometimes it starts building up the world after a few hours.

That's the one thing Firefall has that no other MMO since WoW back in the day has done for me, build a solid world that I really enjoy spending time in. They give you a lot of freedom of movement, enough that you can pretty much get anywhere you can see, and just about every nook and cranny I went to had something there to make it more than just empty space. The world is highly detailed visually, but more than just graphics there's actual content out there to find. It makes exploration satisfying, and running around the world and using various tricks to go where it feels like you probably shouldn't be able to is a lot of fun. The world acts like the glue that keeps the rest of the game together, and the quests are numerous enough that it all coalesces into an overall fun experience.

I like Firefall enough to have spent the $18 for the digital starter pack on it, after being burned by way too many MMOs in recent years it feels like I finally found one that not only has the right idea, but does it with a kind of soul that comes through the more time you spend with it. For the first time since 2006 I can safely say, give this game a try. It might take some time, but there's a good game here if you stick it out.

As an addendum, this game feels like it was in development hell for a long time. My account comes from back in the beta and is as of this writing three years old. It feels like during that entire time the environment artists never stopped working, which is probably why the game world is as detailed as it is.

Firefall is a FPSMMO in a world full of MMORPG in that regards its a great change. Alot of the negative reviews you will find are made by people who played prior to the launch of the game and alot of the positive are people who played after it launched.
The battleframes are all varied enough to feel different when you play them.
If all you do is run missions from the job board it gets repetitive fast. if you do world events while you do those not only do you tend to level faster but its feels alot less grindy
The only real flaw i see in the game is its crafting system which is to time consuming to even bother with pre 40 (which is the max level) and is duanting even then with its high resource reqs and RNG mechanics.
With that said the game has plenty of room for growth and Red5 has been pretty quick about adding content and adjusting things in game.
The devs actually play the game as pilots like you and me and as chosen for some events

Firefall is a fairly fun game. It's free to play; microtransactions are present, but for the most part you can get items off the Cash Shop (Red Bean Store) with currency earned in game. It's a first person/third person shooter with jumpjets. The game world is interesting if you are into the sci-fi genre. I started playing when it game finally released a month or two ago, and I'm still enjoying myself. I haven't spent a penny on the game, yet I've unlocked almost all the advanced frames within that time frame. Also, the gunplay isn't too bad, only annoying thing is sometimes the enemy's movements are a bit off/unpredictable/laggy, but that could be due to my horrid wireless connection.

I'll end my gibbering with a pros vs cons list.

+Interesting Sci-fi world with vast room to expand (both lore/story-wise and game content-wise)
+Third/First person shooter
+Free to Play with not alot of Pay to Win content (A Bike/LGV is great for running around, but I believe you can get one early on now, instead of waiting to level a frame to 25)
+Cash shop items can be bought with in-game currency.
+5 base frames with different playstyles mixed in with a fair number of advanced frames to change it up.
+Customization of your character is free to a point (some hairstyles/accessories cost cash shop currency, but you can always change the way your character looks whenever you want)

-Not a huge amount of things to do once you've hit max level (level 40 right now)
-Glitches/bugs can sometimes be an issue (which is normal for an newly released game, sadly)
-Mostly a PvE (Player vs environment) game with a PvP (Player vs Player) mode and area sort of tacked on.
-Is a bit grindy ( at least your not paying for it, eh?)
-Some parts of the game aren't as well balanced as they could be.
-Crafting in the game is widely considered a bit of a joke and a waste of time (Hopefully will get fixed in a future patch)
