Reviews

"I’ve already played around with its insanely ambitious world-building and baddy-blasting, and I had seen that it was full of promise." -Rock Paper Shotgun
"I've played the game for a bit, and I must say: I am very excited for the future of StarForge." -Destructoid
"It’s remarkably ambitious, but the terrain manipulation already looks fantastic and outer space is gorgeous. This thing has “potential” scrawled all over it." -PC Gamer

About This Game

StarForge is a sci fi survival sandbox. Hunt to eat, dig for resources, craft many items, build a fort, and fight enemies in order to survive! Do this alone, or with other players, in a fully infinite procedural world.

Key Features in StarForge:

Procedural Infinite Voxel Terrain - There are no set boundaries in StarForge; the planet will procedurally generate each time you start a new game. The terrain supports plains, mountains, deserts, mountains, caves, overhangs, rocks, and much more. The world is infinite, meaning you will be able to run in a single direction for as long as your computer can support it.

Underground/Surface/Space Gameplay - Build a tower that ascends into the clouds, through the atmosphere, then into space, and do this in real-time with no loading screens.

Dynamic World - Enjoy dynamic weather patterns, a 24 day and night cycle, and a real time atmosphere. Creatures drop loot and attack the player and sometimes other creatures. Players can also swim and find water or lava in the game.

Loot and Survive - Before the humans landed countless weapons and armor were sent to Atlas. You will find loot chests littered throughout the land, you will need their contents to survive.

Vehicle Gameplay - Hop on board a 4 wheeled all terrain vehicle with a friend and traverse the world. Or jump into a hovercraft for speedy terrain movement. You may also take flight in the space helicopter.

Procedural 3D Tileset - Build anything you want with our unique 3D Tilesets. You can create towns, villages, bridges, forts, and much more. It is also fully destructible! Ramps and stairs are also included.

Physics Sandbox - We are designing the world to be fully dynamic. This currently includes chopping down trees, turrets, and enemies.

Physics Movement - Our movement model is designed closely around the real bio mechanics of biped locomotion; The result is a more human look and feel, and a character that is equipped to intelligently react to dangers far beyond what conventional movement code was designed to handle. It also features a full body IK system.

Resources and Economy - There will be many different resources in StarForge. However, the player can only hold so much at a time. When the player can no longer hold what he mined, he will have to build containers to store them into. This makes resources tangible and gives you the ability to steal other players resources.

Multiplayer & SinglePlayer - We have both modes playable in the game.

Survival - In this mode you are tasked with surviving on the planet. You will encounter enemies, find new blueprints, gather weapons, build a base, and so much more.

Creative - In this mode you have unlimited resources and can build at great speeds. You may also place creatures anywhere you want.

This game is garbage, but I felt as if it was too mainstream to not recommend it. So I'm voting Yes, but I don't really mean that .. :-)

For you developers, if you even read this?
Maybe you should quit developing games, and go over to ..uhh support services.

I remember when everyone thought this game would be revolutionary, because we all thought it had a huge potential. Everything was looking good and it was full of promises. Years later we found out it was the greatest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t on steam. No one could understand what the developers had in their mind, because they simply abandoned this game.

Visiting the forum of their brand new game, 'Reign of Kings', you’ll the exact same thing happening there. Now, I wonder if its developers are actually part of gang committing fraud schemes through steam and the internet.

Don’t buy this piece of junk.

I kickstarted this game, and I've regretted it every moment since. They could at least have the decency to remove it from the store.

Never buy this game. Actually it's not even a game. It's a ponzi scheme. This should be removed from steam. It was never completed, no milestones were hit. The only thing that was hit was the buyers wallets. This game isn't dead, cause it never was alive. Not even Michael Jackson would touch this. Bill Cosby wouldn't either. That has to say something about this trash. They've gone on to make another giant piece of turd and it seems they've done pretty much the same thing. This is why there's lawsuits. This is the Pinto of games. These guys quit faster then Sarah Palin in Alaska. I hope they go jobless. To quote Matt Serra "♥♥♥♥'em"

I loved the concept that they putched us. I even bought one of the supporter editions. I wish I hadn't. The game went nowhere and was promptly abandoned. It's garbage like this that helped me decide to not buy another early access game.

I forgot to toss in my negative review for this, but here it is.

The TLDR is that they "officially released" the game when they had yet to fill in on a lot of promises.
Then, they went to make Reign of Kings, which they essentially did the same thing.

Don't ever buy from this company, Code}{atch.

If you *really* need to try this out, send me a pm. I've got one copy sitting in my inventory, as the day I bought mine (still in EA), I bought an extra just in case my brother wanted to try it. Then, they did this..

These guys moved on from this when they felt it had generated enough money for them to move on to the next cash cow - REIGN OF KINGS. They are doing the same thing again from what Ive seen of ROK theyve abandoned that too. The Devs are called Code}{atch - best to make a point of never buying anything these guys do again until they prove they will actually finish a game. Devs like this are why Early Access needs serious a serious re-think. How they were allowed to get ROK on Steam after this shell of a game is exactly what will kill this type of crowdfunding for genuine small game devs.

This game should be removed from Steam, and refunds should be offered to those of us who were scammed into believing it would actually be finished. Developers abandonded this game, and I personally feel cheated out of $10 for it. I could easily have bought something else with that money.

If you're debating killing yourself and it'll only take one more stain on the shirt of humanity to make you go through with it, you'd best avoid this game.

So strange that they just abandoned the project like this. Not a finished game for sure, plenty of bugs still abound.

StarForge is a Sandbox game that could of went places. It could of gone to a whole new level. But let me tell you what. Glitches are up there in numbers. The graphix's go in an out. Somethings your building just dissapear. The mining system is crap. The weapons and buildings are crap. They even have a store to help you inthe begging but its not balanced at all. To even make this game fun anymore you need to mod the ♥♥♥♥ out of it. So please... pretty please dont wast your money on this. It is a dead game. it shouldn't be out there. This needs to die... If you do buy it and you liked it well let me tell you what.. you need to try other sandbox games. such as Ark... Hell even subnautica was better then this in Alpha. good luck please move on from this game.

Great idea and concept; horrible delivery. Looks no different than early alpha footage, is confusing, and an extreme dissapointment. Space minecraft that looks like it was done for a highschool project.
