"I’ve already played around with its insanely ambitious world-building and baddy-blasting, and I had seen that it was full of promise." -Rock Paper Shotgun
"I've played the game for a bit, and I must say: I am very excited for the future of StarForge." -Destructoid
"It’s remarkably ambitious, but the terrain manipulation already looks fantastic and outer space is gorgeous. This thing has “potential” scrawled all over it." -PC Gamer

About This Game

StarForge is a sci fi survival sandbox. Hunt to eat, dig for resources, craft many items, build a fort, and fight enemies in order to survive! Do this alone, or with other players, in a fully infinite procedural world.

Key Features in StarForge:

Procedural Infinite Voxel Terrain - There are no set boundaries in StarForge; the planet will procedurally generate each time you start a new game. The terrain supports plains, mountains, deserts, mountains, caves, overhangs, rocks, and much more. The world is infinite, meaning you will be able to run in a single direction for as long as your computer can support it.

Underground/Surface/Space Gameplay - Build a tower that ascends into the clouds, through the atmosphere, then into space, and do this in real-time with no loading screens.

Dynamic World - Enjoy dynamic weather patterns, a 24 day and night cycle, and a real time atmosphere. Creatures drop loot and attack the player and sometimes other creatures. Players can also swim and find water or lava in the game.

Loot and Survive - Before the humans landed countless weapons and armor were sent to Atlas. You will find loot chests littered throughout the land, you will need their contents to survive.

Vehicle Gameplay - Hop on board a 4 wheeled all terrain vehicle with a friend and traverse the world. Or jump into a hovercraft for speedy terrain movement. You may also take flight in the space helicopter.

Procedural 3D Tileset - Build anything you want with our unique 3D Tilesets. You can create towns, villages, bridges, forts, and much more. It is also fully destructible! Ramps and stairs are also included.

Physics Sandbox - We are designing the world to be fully dynamic. This currently includes chopping down trees, turrets, and enemies.

Physics Movement - Our movement model is designed closely around the real bio mechanics of biped locomotion; The result is a more human look and feel, and a character that is equipped to intelligently react to dangers far beyond what conventional movement code was designed to handle. It also features a full body IK system.

Resources and Economy - There will be many different resources in StarForge. However, the player can only hold so much at a time. When the player can no longer hold what he mined, he will have to build containers to store them into. This makes resources tangible and gives you the ability to steal other players resources.

Multiplayer & SinglePlayer - We have both modes playable in the game.

Survival - In this mode you are tasked with surviving on the planet. You will encounter enemies, find new blueprints, gather weapons, build a base, and so much more.

Creative - In this mode you have unlimited resources and can build at great speeds. You may also place creatures anywhere you want.

I got this game when it first came out for pre alpha with high hopes for a game to invest time in with my friends. However the devs basically took the money they could and ran off with it. From what i've seen of there newest game they did the same thing. I'm not going to go off on a rant about it, but if you're thinking of buying this game... DON'T. It is a waste of time and money to even think about playing this game. the devs left the community and basically looked at it and said "hey ♥♥♥♥ it we made some money." Now what i say is to make sure they don't get any more money for there ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t.

A person could do a lot worse for two bucks. This game may be incomplete, perhaps even abandoned, but what's left after all the hate and lonliness and resentment and confusion is a pretty fun game. Sure, it's not Rust or ARK or any other decent survival game, but again, it's two bucks! Harvest mushrooms! Build some guns! Kill some aliens! Get a couple trading cards! It's fun!

Since buying this game back when I first started Space Engineers in early 2014 I had high hopes and kept faith in the developers in that they would provide us with a quality game, for what I had seen and come to expect during the first few months of development I was beyond impressed considering the quality it had when I bought it, but then Code }{ atch began to release fewer and fewer updates, and in 2015 one final update which failed to address many issues that still existed in the game.

The game holds a relatively simple crafting system, mine or harvest what you need along with having found the required blueprint and you can build anything from a hovercraft or rover to a fully equipped base and a lot of boxes bristling with ammunition and weapons of varying destructive power, as well as armor ranging from cheap armor crafted from fiber to steel plated combat armor and ever more potent defenses.

Sadly the bugs are at the very least, rampant and annoying but far from game breaking. The biggest ones being optimization related where low spec machines (2.4 Ghz processors) will not fully render holes or gaps in the game until you are already falling or more likely, perform death defying moments of "walking on air" before plummeting to your doom, the Leeches that decide to ragdoll down hills for the LOLs, and the fact that loot crates from the crashed ship that sometimes spawn on a hill or plateau decide to roll down hills and cliffsides when they spawn on them.

All in all I recommend against buying this game as the overall content, while great for an early access game in some ways, is just no longer worth the time and broken dreams of a grand sandbox game with multiplayer servers, and matches. Gone are the days when this game held promise... keep your money folks, I would stay away from this game even if it was given to me for free, and after waiting for updates that will never come, I can honestly say that I hope Valve will pursue actions against Code }{ atch for abusing their kickstarter program for this game, I know that there are many people out there that would love to have their money back from this travesty of a game.

This game had such promise. Safe to say its dead. Not even an update from the developers about it either. What a scam. I can't believe I paid 20 or so dollars for this trash. I played it maybe 30 minutes? Cool concept. Great scam.

Great promises by devs.
Great potential.
Then officially announced to not add any features, unless they sell more copies.
Seriously?

I've put so much hope in this game and now it is ... unfinished and abandoned.

It's a shame that I gave them my money :-(

These guys moved on from this when they felt it had generated enough money for them to move on to the next cash cow - REIGN OF KINGS. They are doing the same thing again from what Ive seen of ROK theyve abandoned that too. The Devs are called Code}{atch - best to make a point of never buying anything these guys do again until they prove they will actually finish a game. Devs like this are why Early Access needs serious a serious re-think. How they were allowed to get ROK on Steam after this shell of a game is exactly what will kill this type of crowdfunding for genuine small game devs.

This game should be removed from Steam, and refunds should be offered to those of us who were scammed into believing it would actually be finished. Developers abandonded this game, and I personally feel cheated out of $10 for it. I could easily have bought something else with that money.

If you're debating killing yourself and it'll only take one more stain on the shirt of humanity to make you go through with it, you'd best avoid this game.

So strange that they just abandoned the project like this. Not a finished game for sure, plenty of bugs still abound.

StarForge is a Sandbox game that could of went places. It could of gone to a whole new level. But let me tell you what. Glitches are up there in numbers. The graphix's go in an out. Somethings your building just dissapear. The mining system is crap. The weapons and buildings are crap. They even have a store to help you inthe begging but its not balanced at all. To even make this game fun anymore you need to mod the ♥♥♥♥ out of it. So please... pretty please dont wast your money on this. It is a dead game. it shouldn't be out there. This needs to die... If you do buy it and you liked it well let me tell you what.. you need to try other sandbox games. such as Ark... Hell even subnautica was better then this in Alpha. good luck please move on from this game.

Great idea and concept; horrible delivery. Looks no different than early alpha footage, is confusing, and an extreme dissapointment. Space minecraft that looks like it was done for a highschool project.
