Kind of like EVE Online except there's no subscription fees and it's with real money.

This is a game that could take months or years to play, but it is one of the most rewarding gaming experiences I have ever had.

About This Software

"The World’s Best Budgeting Program" – The Internet

With a cult following the world round, You Need A Budget (YNAB), helps you take total control of your money. The results are life-changing and include breaking the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle, paying down debt, and saving more money faster – not to mention a good night’s sleep.

You’ve Never Budgeted Like This Before

The You Need A Budget software is clean and beautiful. Where other software packages suffer from years of feature creep, YNAB offers you exactly what you need: a simple, straightforward system to manage your money. But what makes it so powerful are YNAB’s Four Rules:

  • Rule 1: Give Every Dollar A Job
  • Rule 2: Save for a Rainy Day
  • Rule 3: Roll with the Punches
  • Rule 4: Learn to Live on Last Month’s Income

Show Your Money Who’s Boss

YNAB has a high-touch customer support team, a library of video tutorials, and offers free, live daily classes. With YNAB there is no reason why you can’t get rid of your debt, save for the future and finally insert that thing you've been wanting to do but you've been just too lazy to save for. No more excuses.

There's a new version of YNAB (people call it nYNAB) which uses subscription model. YNAB4 will be discontinued after December 30, 2016 (and, in fact, the Steam version has not received the latest update compared to the non-Steam desktop version, which offers the migration to nYNAB). If you can't afford USD 5/month or USD 50/year for nYNAB, buy YNAB4 instead. The price tag of IDR 390.000 may be a little bit steep, so wait until it's on sale (unllikely though) or there's any news about nYNAB one-time-fee model (if they will offer any, the SaaS is becoming a trend now). Don't worry about no updates after it's discontinued; Windows XP is still popular and usable even though it's "dead".

Would spend money on this software again to remind myself that I do indeed need a budget.

A friend of mine bought it for me in steam as a christmas present last year. I had previously used this tool for a year off steam and it had helped me get out of 5k debt.

The first few months is bizarre since there's a lot of second guessing. This is my second christmas with YNAB and I managed to see my spending for the previous year and break it up so by December I had heaps of money for christmas presents and food! And Steam sales money!

Thanks to the reports I'm able to generate, I was able to see what I need in case something happens and I can't work for 6 months. So I now have a nice 6 months buffer which came in handy a few months ago.

All in all very happy with it. And being able to see on my mobile what I have available for the month is awesome. Whenever I feel stressed I have a budgeting night. It's nice making money work for you instead of working for the money. All those interests accumulating for me bring me so much happy awesome joy.

Do not buy this software.
It was the best finace software in the market once. But now they want to take more money from us by create a new online version of it to charge monthly fee and then stop support other versions.
Do not believe these people to control your finace, find another ways or try to control it yourself.
Be brave. May the force be with you, my friend.
