Steering Knobs

The Open Beta for Euro Truck Simulator 2's and American Truck Simulator's upcoming updates is already in full swing. We'd like to thank you all for the feedback and bug reports you've given us!

To get to the point: once a game update enters public testing, we usually just want to stabilize the new features and release it. But this time we have decided to up the scope of the updates even when the beta test is already in flight. Our artists just finished work on an interesting little set of cabin "toys." Our inner circle of trusted beta testers liked it very much, and so we wanted to share it with you as soon as possible.

So here we are, introducing a new little game feature - streering knobs. We've included six different steering knobs in each game; you will be able to install them at four possible locations on a steering wheel. Steering knobs are an exception rather than a rule, they are not frequently used on long haul trucks, and actually their legal status is somewhat shady in certain territories. But we hope that the new feature will please the group of fans who kept requesting their addition to our games.

“With its stellar gameplay and presentation, Euro Truck Simulator 2 set a new standard for the simulation genre.”

“There are titles in the simulation market which can be sold on the novelty factor alone, but tend to be disappointing games. Euro Truck Simulator 2 is not one of them, it is strangely cathartic, engaging and relaxing.”

Love this game. Very relaxing. I get up in the morning, turn on my computer and coffee pot. Grab a cup of coffee and hit the road. I recomend this game for anyone who needs a vacation from killing zombies or fellow players.
SCS nailed it with this one.

I started playing this game "seriously" quite a while ago. Then I discovered you could remove the 90 kph speed limitation on all trucks.
That's when I discovered a whole new game; trying to deliver cargo without damage while avoiding traffic on a rainy german highway, speeding over 150 kph, with heavy metal blaring on the radio...
Best. Drive. Ever.
10/10 Would crash against highway railing again.

This is one of those games you'll either love or hate. It is very relaxing to just take on a job and enjoy the drive but I can imagine that relaxation can just as easily become boredom if you're not in the right mood.

The main problem as I see it is the money sink DLCs, especially if you're not sure whether you will enjoy the game to start with. There are some reasonable DLC packs but each is missing something and if you buy just the game itself to try it out, it can all add up to unreasonable levels. In my case, that is what i did and now that I tried out the main game and enjoyed it, I am looking at a lot of money (relatively) to just get extra content to cover achievements. We are talking about far more than the price of AAA titles for a fairly simple game with outdated graphics and all its expansions.

That is why I can't recommend this game; if you consider upcoming DLCs as well, it gets far too expensive for what it is.

While it is a very good "simulation" game, it also has a very relaxing effect (at least on me). So, it is quite good to play for a few shipments to chill out after a hard day.

So this is the most relaxing non-competive driving simulator ever to be created. I wake up turn on my pc, get some food, setup my steering wheel, pedals and gearstick and im trucking for the rest of the day. Totally recommend this game if you just want to relax no stress, no whiny females, just you, your truck and A lot of roads to drive over 👍

So you want to know what it's like to drive a truck around Europe?

This isn't it.

You don't get the discomfort. You don't get the stench of sleeping in your cabin for days. You don't get the jaded bored people in logistics handling your delivery. You don't get the pressure of a superior ♥♥♥♥♥ing at you for being late or slow or your cargo being damanged. You don't get the challenge of interacting with people whose language you don't even speak and can't deliver a sentence in English if their grandmother's life depended on it. You don't get to deal with police pulling you over for speeding, or demolished cars from traffic collisions.

You get to have all the fun parts instead (plus some rather irrelevant fines).

Euro Truck Simulator gives you a taste of what it's like to drive cargo through Europe without most of the frustrating parts. Sure, you have to deal with local speed limits, and tight lanes, and traffic rules and intersections. That is part of what it means to drive a truck. The game is sandbox-y enough to let you get away with a great deal of driving atrocities without letting you feel like a total traffic god, but it comes close to letting you. The result is that a lot of this game is touring through scenic environments, dealing marginally with traffic rules, with your favourite Internet radio station blasting through your in-game system, and making in-game money through your trucking company in the process. It's not high-paced action. There's no great story involved. Yet the game is irrationally entertaining, managing to somehow find this perfect balance between being engaging and being relaxing, poignantly demonstrating that the goals we set in a game and engage with frequently find their origin in nothing but our own subjectivity, rather than the actual game design.

I bought this game on a sale. I never even expected to like it. I was surprised when I did. Had I known I would have paid full price. It's not always relaxing, but it's definitely comfortable. I can launch it up and continue my progress of my trucking empire any time I feel like it, or delay when I don't. I can't rightfully claim to be bored, owning this game.

Get out of my way dude, I got a truck and I ain't afraid to pay a fine.

If your looking for a review on this game you've come to the wrong place, but if your looking for an outstanding lemon bars recipe you've come to the right place.

Ingredients:
1) 2 cups Flour
2) 1/2 cup Sugar
3) 1/4 teaspoon Salt
4) 2 sticks (1 Cup) Salted Butter, Cut Into Small Cubes
5) Filling
6) 1-1/2 cup Sugar
7) 1/4 cup Flour
8) 4 whole Large Eggs
9) Zest And Juice Of 4 Medium-sized Lemons
10) Powdered Sugar, For Sifting

Directions:

1. For the crust: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-by-13-inch pan with butter.

2. Stir together the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the butter to the bowl and use a pastry cutter to cut it all together until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Press into the prepared pan and bake until golden around the edges, about 20 minutes.

3. For the filling: Stir together the sugar and flour. Crack in the eggs and whisk to combine. Add the lemon zest and juice and mix until combined. Pour over the crust and bake about 20 minutes.

4. Allow to cool in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours, then sift powdered sugar over the top before cutting into squares.

(Use an 8 x 10 pan if you'd like the layers to be a little thicker.)

+++ Massive modding community +++
+ Great developer support. Updated quite frequently
+ Great graphics for its game engine
+ Great vehicle physics
+ Dynamic time, weather and vehicle damage.
+ Friendly interface
+ Ability to purchase garages and hire drivers to work for you
+ 1000s of miles of road to drive on
+ Many cities to discover
+ Several trucks to choose from
+ Realistic sounds
+ Lots of accessories and options to choose
+ Great wheel support
+ Many trailers and jobs to choose
+ Multiplayer available
+ 100s of hours of gameplay
+ Integrated radio and music player
+ Console can be enabled to edit / modify different parameters
+ Map editor
+ Inexpensive DLC
+ Easily the best truck simulator out there

- End game can be reptitive with nowhere to progress;
- Deliveries needs to be much more challenging for skilled players.
- Framerates can drop in cities or with dense traffic due to outdated game engine
- AI not perfected yet. Traffic can stop randomly on the road (motorways especially) for no reason. Traffic does not give way properly at roundabouts or when entering the depot which can cause huge traffic jams. In the event of an AI crash, the traffic will not reverse unless you hit them to give the AI space.
- Collision physics are off. Trailers rubbing of barriers will cause your truck to stop or slow down abruptly.

9.5/10

I strongly recommend this for those who like simulation games.

The reviews don't lie, this game is just awesome >_< My father, who was a truck driver and a gamer, would have really loved it! I can, for the first time in my life, know what is to drive on the left in England! I'm pretty sure to be really lost in the real life! Short. It's amazing to drive trucks. Discover the countries where live my international mates :) Germany, England, Austria, Poland, Belgium...! So cool!

Deliver various materials, from simple to more complicated. From lightest to heaviest. In larger distances, as the smallest. Make money, manage a transport company, hire drivers and make fructuer my business.

In addition, the game is not heavy, just over 2gb.

I play with keyboard, but I can feel how it's hard to drive a truck and how it can be awesome. But I love trucks, and I really enjoy this game. Maybe it comes from my childhood and from the first loves of my father who brought back my first name from England during one of his trips. I was a little girl so proud... It's for these only good memories I love this game. Thanks to this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and to the devs <3

I definitely recommend this game to the trucks lovers

Full Review here:

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/TheZeronShow/discussions/10/353915847943352666/

*This review refers to version 1.2.4 of Euro Truck Simulator 2. Some facts and features are subject to change at a later date.

**This Part only mentions the Base Game and what comes with it. Going East and Scandinavia will have there seperate reviews as will Vive La France once it comes out.

So here it is my first review on Steam. Enjoy it as I review one of my favorite games right now to play.

Pros:

* Very easy to learn but hard to fully master it.

* Amazing Scenery and Graphics (You do need a good PC for the highest settings).

* A large map in the base game. You can drive in 12 countries including Luxembourg! (expanded in the DLC expansions).

* Up to 13 Trucks in the game spread across 7 brands, all fully licensed.

* Constantly being updated with new content.

* Possibility to create amazing screenshots.

* A very well made Truck Purchase System, you can buy Trucks easily which leads to...

* Great Truck Customization (You can customize it how you want).

* Realistic Truck and Physics Damage System.

* Some countries are very well designed in game like Switzerland, the Netherlands and Austria.

* A good community (except some bad eggs).

* A good variety of trailers to deliver to various different pickup points (You can transport everything from Basic Pressure Tanks up to Chemicals and Fuel).

* Great way to alleviate stress (most of the time).

* Finding all the Discoverables, while time consuming, is very rewarding.

* Steam Achievements and Trading Cards.

* Steam Workshop Connection.

* You can customize the way you play it in a variety of ways.

Pros/Cons depending on Player.

* World of Trucks connection(You can complete jobs online and from time to time win prizes in the World of Trucks site).

* Built-in Radio System (You can choose a variety of different Real life Radio Streams whilst driving if that is your preference or you can add in your own.).

* Built-in GPS System (Sometimes it gets a bit wonky, but use it if you want).

* No Multiplayer officially supported by SCS, however, there is a mod out there called ETS 2 MP that adds it.

* A Huge variety of mods to choose from that add new content into the game (You might need Going East and Scandinavia for some of them like Promods and TSM).

* Driving on Highways can be very boring for many people as it is tedious and monotonous.

* Some of the Scenery looks the same in many countries.

* The United Kingdom and Germany assets are reused from previous SCS games UK Truck Simulator and German Truck Simulator.

* Huge variety in customization like Paintjobs Packs and Cabin Accessories but you have to pay for them if you want them.

* To get the best out of the game you definitely need a Controller at least and/or a Driving Wheel.

Cons:

* Some Highway exits can trick you.

* The AI can be very aggressive and may ram into you for no reason.

* France and Italy are not fully completed (In case of France this will be fixed soon).

* Some Pick-Up Points are tricky and it can be annoying to get into Quarries.

* There's a lack of variety on Highway Exits. (Many countries will have the same exits in multiple roads).

* To get 100% Map Completion you have to drive through some off road paths, which can be very annoying.

Points Score:

1 - Not Recommended

2 - Recommended at Deep Discount

3 - Recommend at Slight Discount

4 - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

5 - Must Buy!
