No Time To Explain Level Editor Tutorial

March 3rd, 2014

The latest version of No Time To Explain (v 1.3) now has a level editor. Check out the Workshop!

Here is a quick tutorial:

1. Access the Golden Orb (from main menu or World 1)

2. Click on Create Your Own Level. You can also access other people's levels from here.

3. It has all the tools used to made original No Time To Explain levels

4. You need to have both the character and the portal in the level. Doesn't matter which character, as long as you can "beat" a level by jumping into a portal.

Uploading the level is a matter of first saving, then testing and beating it. You can upload only levels you've beaten. So if you're playing someone's level, you know the creator had to have beaten it before sharing.

Good luck!

PS we also recently released an editor for SpeedRunners - you might want to check that out, too.

Positives:
+ Great art style
+ Humourous Storyline
+ Challenging levels
+ User Created Content
+ Good Overall Length

Negatives:
- Technical Issues on Windows 7 / 8
- No Gamepad Support
- Framerate issues on higher resolutions
- A few levels are too difficult which can hault player progress
- Bosses seem to be too easy
- No health system, so when you get "damaged" it seems pointless

Overall, a pretty good platformer, that I'd recommend to those who enjoy games of this genre.
Time to Complete the Game: ~2-3 hours

This game, while short, is a blast to play. Every world introduces a new mechanic, so to keep things interesting. And, the game is filled with humor and satire. So go buy this game. THERES NO TIME TO EXPLAIN.

Light hearted fun with neat machanics but when the game bugs out it can become unplayable for many reasons. These include unpredictable physics and respawn death loops.

This game takes about 3 hours to complete, unless you are not into 2d platform games. It's challenging to the point that it angers you some times but in general it's a walk in a park. There is no actual story behind it but everything that happens seem to add up. Music reminded me of old 8bit games and it certainly isn't the strong point of this game. What made me want to finish this game was the many different sceneries there are as well as various level mechanics being introduced.

3 hours may seem quick to you, but I believe it's for the best since if it was longer I'd never get to finish it. It messes with your good state of mind, if that makes any sense...

WAY TO MANY GLITCHES, 99 percent of the difficulty arises from the glitches if a patch comes out to rectify this 8/10 as it stands (updated score because the games price has droped to 5 dollars) 6/10. A games difficulty should not be from it's controls and unresponsiveness and on multiple occasions doing something as simple as changing the resolution rendered the game unplayable until i reset it. There are better places to spend your money. find them.

However this game has enough charm to make a Pixar movie weep. the charm is close to redeeming the game but for having achievements for not dying and speed runs i can not recommend at this time and current state.

(this game has been out for over a year and i have yet to see the bugs be addressed)

(I have completed the game, i just do not feel it is worth getting in this state and would not recomend it. not to say that it is a strictly bad game)
