In concluison before explaination: Construct 2 is a semi-perfect software and easy to use.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Really simple to use, and in no time are you able to teach youself, tons of cool features. One of the downsides is that at times you can't go completely in depth. Physics and Movement is layed out for you, and is easy to just jump right in. For people like me, who like to work with pixel-art has to increase the size of a 500 - 1000% bigger,
and if i dont, then it will look de-pixelated/blurry.

---------------------------
Construct 2 gets a 7.8/10

I made a game in this program where Gandalf shot cakes at Mountain Dew bottles. I think this game is pretty good.

First, I should note that this review only applies to the free version. If you have a license (which is really expensive for me, so I don't plan on getting one soon, but if you want to make money it might be worth it), disregard this.

The free version of Construct 2 is too limiting. You cannot use object families, which means that, for example you have to set every individual enemy type to damage the player instead of just adding "When player collides with enemy". This goes with the second flaw: you can only have up to 100 events. Events are what make your game work, so unless you're planning on making a generic platformer or shmup you won't be able to do much.

The final nail in the coffin for Construct 2 free edition is that Construct Classic, which can do nearly everything this version can do without restrictions, is available for free. So unless you want to buy a license, go use that version instead.

Very easy to use with a nice array of output options, and HTML5 works very well. Highly recommended if you wanna make a game fast.

I own a personal lisc. Its a good tool for begginers -- There isn't an Auto Save Function, nor is there one when you test play. Program is very crash prone, if you tick it off a certain way. Although its best practice to save your work as many times as you needed, for those who have gotten use to programs that already do that for you will find yourself frustrated starting a project to find that your work and progress has been lost because of an issue with the software.

Otherwise, Its not the best tool in the world, but I wouldnt pay $130 for it. Starting to regret it.

Very useful for creating games.
Sadly, Unless you pay for a (atleast) 129.99 USD liscense, You cannot sell your games, nor export them to .exe

Very simple to use software. If you have your resources prepared you can very easily make a simple game in a matter of minutes. This software was designed for those with little to no programming knowledge, and because of that, has limitations on what it can do.

Great for apps, if you're making something for the desktop, Facebook, or the Android play store, this software allows you to export your project for these as well as many others. Adding input methods is very simple, and controls and physics are just a few clicks away.

In the case of RPGs this is not the greatest software to use, in fact in some situations it would be easier to type up the code, which is not currently possible. The user forum is very useful in helping you solve issues, but there are some things that just are not possible in construct at the moment.

I recommend this software to anyone focusing on smaller games and apps; however, keep in mind what kind of game you're wanting to publish when purchasing this software.

I think that this piece of software is brilliant! It is perfect for people who want to create a game like Flappy Bird and other games like that but can't code. If people just want to make a fun little game that they can play, then this is for them. I really like it, but the only improvment I can think of is allowing you to use it on an Android device, even if that meant you had to download the app to play it. Other than that, it is awesome. I would really recommend this to anyone who wants to create little games for themselves, or if you have money, big games.

Great for beginners who know little to none about coding a game, but it can also be used by those who do know how to code and it offers an easier why to implement your code into the game.

Fantastic software for the not-really-programmer game developer.
Would you please offer a reduced price license for students who could do with a little more features than the free version but don't have a business to cover the costs?

Totally would recommend this. With anything that requires some level of creativity, it'll take a bit to get accustomed to. It is a bit proned to crashing so don't forget to save often.

I've spent about 50+ hours total on this program and I've learned a great deal of game making alone from it. Don't knock it until you've given it an honest try. It really is an amazing product.

Its easy to use, and i would recommend it for everyone who wants to try to develop small or big 2D games. But it takes time to get a really good result.
Its a great piece of software, that is perfect for a beginner, and even good if you already know how to code, since it reduces development time really much.
Please note, that everyone noting that C2 on Steam is instable - It's the same product & code, except how it handles to check if you bought it. It's definetely not instable, it was, but not only on Steam, and it got fixed in the meantime.
C2 also features auto-backup, Official Multiplayer (WebRTC | WiP) & there is more to come, since it's a very good maintained product by scirra. There are almost weekly updates, with fixes, improvements & additions. It also has a Experimental Greenworks plugin to enable some features of the Steam API for games made with it to get released on Steam.
(It gets reduced by 33-50% in Winter/Summer Sales, some times.)
And the time displayed on top of the review, is not the actual time, its only what i used in the free edition. Actual time 500+ hours (And counting).

As a complete noob in coding and after trying unity and gamemaker I can be 100% that this is the best app for making simple games fast!

All the other game making apps I have tryed, claimed to be verry easy to use.
If they are easy to use, than either I am a complete idiot, or construct 2 is just some sort of thoughts to code transformator.

Simply put. If you want to start making games, without almost any code knowledge, you need to try this!

Great program for the beginner/intermedite programmer interested in creating games! Great educational tool though as I may use it to teach my kids the basics of programming. I particually like to have 100% control over my projects so I will stick to the hard coding and designing my own projects. Basically I checked this out to use as a tool to get my kids more involved and to teach them.

Construct 2 is amazing. I've been using it since 2009 and the first public alphas, and it grew SO much since then. It's really really simple for those just getting into programming, but can also be really powerfull if you know what you're doing.

Check out a list of games greenlight games that are being made in it here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=103535227

This is, by far, the best 2d Video Game engine there is. If you are reading this because you think this will turn out like "Game Studio" then feel no hesitation in downloading the free version of this game: Game Studio starts you off with "Catch the Clown," Construct 2 starts you off with a top down alien shooter. Not to say that Game Studio is bad, but if you can READ, you CAN make a GAME with CONSTRUCT 2. (In less than an hour!) The possibilities are, truly, endless.

A simple, and "relatively" easy to learn tool Construct 2 comes with tutorials and samples to help you get started making 2d games fast. Construct 2 is a free alternative to some of the other game makers you will find here on Steam, and with its simple tools you are sure to be able to at least make something, and maybe even learn something in the process. I think you should try Construct 2 if you looking for a game making tool. Or even if you are just interested in making 2d games. There is not alot I can say about this particular game making software, besides that it is simple and free. Overall would I rate Construct 2 Decent on a scale of suck to awesome.
