All Access DLC Released

Dear Players,

In order to attract new players to the game and allow our team to spend more time working on Kingdom Wars updates and expansions we`ve decided to release a couple of DLCs.

Please rest assured that we are not making our veteran KW players pay for any new content - these DLCs are meant mostly for new players or for these who want to support our small indie company.

Also we took precautions not to turn KW into a pay-to-win game, these DLCs were designed not to cause any balance issues, and are limited in their benefits.

And so introducing our first DLC - the "All Access" pack.

Enter the world of Kingdom Wars as a veteran VIP. All Access Key comes with 90% of what the game store has to offer, including the highly priced singleplayer campaign, 24 city slots and over 50$ in other features and benefits.

Enter the world of Kingdom Wars with an amazing starter pack including:

-Twenty Four city slots
-30 Days Premium
-40,000 resources
-Two Ice Dragon
-Gunpowder Army of Rifleman and Cannons - 24 battalions
-48 Hour Attack Protection
-Singleplayer Campaign
-Lay Siege Singleplayer Skirmish
-Castle Defense Singleplayer Skirmish
-Player Hero Customization Pack
-Hometown Flag Customization Pack
-Hometown Architecture Pack
-Wall Banners, Building Flags and City Colors Pack

Update 1.3 - "We Are Back" is Live!

Dear Players,

We are happy to say that we are back to Kingdom Wars 1, with what we hope will be small but regular updates for months to come.

As we continue work on the main game engine update, that we hope to figure out by mid September, we have plans for the next three smaller updates that will introduce a lot of art updates, gameplay balancing, fixing exploits, and introducing minor new features.

In addition we`ll be running few promotions during the next 30 days aiming to increase the player population. We`ll also be releasing couple of DLCs - Starter Pack and All Access DLC, that will help us bring more players, as well as allow us to dedicate more resources to KW1.

And so introducing update 1.3. This is the update that you`ll "see" right away as you load your homeland. Here`s detailed list of features:

-Greatly increased visual quality of terrain textures
-If player on purpose disconnects during the battle it`ll count as a loss
-Reworked all summer and winter terrain textures
-New look for in-game trees with higher quality textures
-New art for grass, cliffs and other vegetation
-Updated main menu to show News, Invite, KW2B promo
-Added swear words filter, swear words replaced with funny words
-Expanded Moderator Tools to manage Chat Bans and Player Bans
-Worker units are up to 40% better at fighting and surviving attacks

Moving forward we`ll be creating couple of new posts to get more feedback from you regarding what you think we should concentrate on for the upcoming updates...

About This Game

Kingdom Wars is a free to play 3D MMORTS with real-time siege combat, without the pay to win element so common in the genre. Having evolved from Dawn of Fantasy: Kingdom Wars this strategy game offers lively online world, where players gather resources, construct majestic towns, and impregnable strongholds, direct citizens, complete quests in the service of mighty nobles and fiendish rogues, and eventually manage a global empire. All within an online realm that grows, works, lives, and breathes even when you log off. All this in glorious 3d world with stunning level of detail and epic scale - with vibrant towns and thousand strong armies. And of-course let’s not forget the glorious siege battles all in real-time! Developed by Reverie World Studios, Kingdom Wars is the result of several years of hard work by a new Toronto based studio, with members all over the world.

Features

Innovative MMORTS Approach
  • Wage war with neighboring regions or complete countless hours of quests as you unveil the dark secrets of Terria while managing a persistent kingdom and economy with thousands of other players. Socialize, trade, forge alliances and - best of all - battle against other players across the world, defeat their armies, and burn their towns!
Not Pay to Win
  • With Kingdom Wars free to play release our goal was to create a game of skill, not bigger wallets. We have followed player suggestions and tried to avoid the common pay2win traps. In Kingdom Wars majority of micro-transaction only effect cosmetic changes or unlock bonus content, that does not effect game progress and player interaction. All the other options are limited to one time use, to prevent anyone gaining unfair advantage.
Multiple Games Modes
  • Two additional singleplayer modes - including open-ended Campaign mode, and content-packed single-player Skirmish mode with both Lay Siege and Castle Defense maps - guaranteed to satisfy players of various tastes and gameplay styles.
Stunning Siege Combat
  • User-friendly Siege-oriented gameplay adds a whole new dimension to the battlefield as you ram the enemy gate, scale the walls, and place automated defensive systems, such as: stone tippers, boiling oil, and wall-mounted catapults.
Three Distinct Races & Styles of Gameplay
  • Kingdom Wars features three distinct civilizations: Elves, Orcs and Men, presenting a unique approach to these iconic races with three distinct styles of gameplay. Each race is complete with its own lore, language, world region and terrain, dozens of distinct units and buildings, hundreds of unique technologies, and each even has a different approach to economy and building style.
Fully 3D Dynamic World Map
  • Travel the MMORTS world using a beautifully-designed 3D World Map featuring scale replicas of all the NPC strongholds, quest areas, and the player's homeland.
Original Base Building Approach
  • Each player’s Stronghold features hundreds of buildings that look and behave like a City-Simulation game, but without any micro-management, giving the player more time to spend on the battlefield. In addition each race offers a different approach to building strongholds.
Complex Economic Model with Corpse Looting
  • Combines the complexity of nearly a dozen gathering possibilities, different for each race, with automated simplicity, allowing players the options to micromanage their economy, or leave it to run itself in times of war.
Realistic Weather and Season Change
  • The gaming world comes alive as you build and battle during winter or summer months, as you push your armies through heavy rain or snow storms. Your economy significantly changes from summer to winter, when different strategic options are available during different times of day and severe weather makes certain units useless.

Unstable servers & numerous game breaking bugs. The pathfinding is TERRIBLE, one can completely avoid melee attacks by spaming movement orders, theres a trick to it. If you give an order to a unit to enter a castle when the gates are open it will pass through the gate even if the gate closes before it arrives. For some unknown reason, even on a quad core 4.2 ghz machine, when units need to find a path it will generate a terrible lagspike and eat your machine alive. Also sometimes they wipe all your characters and you have to start over.
Sometimes you will simply not be able to log on for prolonged periods with no explanation.
Often the game crashes to desktop.
If it worked it would be more fun.

Aside from not being able to log in currently, very solid game. I love RTS games, and this game is a really great one. If anyone in an alliance needs an extra, I'm available. :P

I've played for almost 7 hours and still don't have an army big enough to lay siege to another town, making for a boring experience. (The "Very Easy" opponent is still twice as strong as my army.) Starting out, resource-gathering is agonizingly slow. The UI is a mess; there are actually elements that overlap, and some elements aren't explained, so I don't even know what clicking on them does. Certain resources, like deers for elves, you can't count, or delete, but there is apparently a limit on how many you should create. The graphics are low quality, even on max settings. At times, it is difficult to actually see what I'm looking at.

I've been an RTS gamer since the original AOE and SC. I've played Total War, Stronghold, C&C, Empire Earth, etc. I love the genre, and I love the concept that the developers are trying to implement with this game, but it's just very unenjoyable to play, even though I really wanted to like this game.

Pretty much a chore to play. Slow, grindy and with the micromanagement focused on the boring parts like econmics and whatching over your farmers so they don't stand idle or get eaten by wolves when they wander off, but none of the fun stuff like actually chosing where to place your buildings and walls and you know, build a city and castle to your liking. Horrible UI and gritty graphics makes a mess of everything, but the fact that buildings pop up where the game wants them to, not where you want them to, really killed it for me.

Well, Ive spent many hours on this game and have enjoyed it all the way up until my return after a break. When I returned I found I was missing multiple buildings and 2 of my 3 armies. I submitted a report over 24 hours ago and have yet to get a reply. Everything I lost cost crows which = real money. They have a special right now to buy a starter pack but I suggest you steer clear. Its not worth the risk of it vanishing and then not getting any customer service! It seems this company is all about getting your money but not doing anything when you have problems. I woiuld simply choose another game...I mean look at this, they released Kingdom Wars 2 and charged money before they even got this one finished, which cost 20$ when I got it.. didnt get anything for that either. #reverieworldgreed

Also with the new DLC it says.. Rest Assured we are not making our veteran players pay for the DLC... Really Ive had the game since release so why Am i required to pay for the DLC?

Wonderful game. Without having to stress over minor things that make other strategy games tedious and easy to lose interest in, Kingdom Wars Dawn of Fantasy is a game I will certainly enjoy playing for countless hours on end. With release of the new DLC (which I will be aqcuiring very soon) thousands of hours of fun gameplay and adventures were added, including a storyline campaign. Can't wait to see what else Siegeworks thinks up for this game, in the mean time I have some castles to siege. Ciao!

I would definitely recommend you try Kingdom Wars if you love a great medieval rts game. Build massive alliances and armies to conquer and control the world map by siege and vassal as well as coop and pvp options. You are able to choose from several different races and traits with the option to build cities in many different regions on the world map. The game community is very helpful with questions and resources until you are able to build a strong economy in your home city, (the best game community I have had the pleasure of playing with). Although Kingdom Wars has a few minor bugs nothing major, the dedicated team of developers are always fast to respond to keep the game running smoothly. Thank you for the great game Reverie World Studios.

The game isn't the best. Is it worth the money on sale? Yes.

The developers are some of the most dedicated I have ever seen. So good job to you devs. Keep working.

This is a great game. And plus, its free! Probably the best free-2-play RTS game on Steam.
