[DoF is a work in progress so wether it has changed much I dont know.]
DoF is a massively multiplayer online real-time-strategy set in a medieval high fantasy setting with additional: singleplayer campaign, castle wars and a scenario editor. Its a Greenlit title so you can choose to give it a go there must be something to it but I didnt find it and apparently its turned into a bit of a cash cow however I did not personally encounter this but I cant blame them I got a strong impression they were struggling and hell the opportunity is there for them now they are on Steam.
There is alot to like but much more to dislike about DoF its not a finished game but a work still in progress, I hope... I personally liked its setting; the unique visuals, adorable sound effects, epic music, and just that feeling as if I was playing something new. But its last-ability for me was about 2 days. The on-line mode is a nice option but the pace is slower than a peasant with no pickaxe. The gameplay feels limited and unresponsive. Theres a steep learning curve in using the UI and its visually a bit of a mess. he gameplay feels horrid but I am coming down from SC2. The basic tutorials that are there are excellent though.
Overall DoF's glimmer of another world falls short due to poor usability and lack of gameplay. Dawn of Fantasy is... missing its horizon.
