About This Game

** Please note: a remastered and improved edition of this game is now available in Zombie Army Trilogy.**

Featuring a co-op campaign for 1 to 4 players, Nazi Zombie Army is a horrifying new stand-alone expansion of the award-winning Sniper Elite series.
In the dying flames of World War II, a despairing Hitler unleashes one final, unholy gamble – a legion of undead super soldiers that threatens to overwhelm the whole of Europe.

You are Karl Fairburne – the sniper who shaped world history. You are one of the last living souls in Germany. You must team up or die.
American, German, Russian – previous military allegiances no longer matter. Now it's just the living versus the dead.
Only a Sniper Elite with nerves of steel and a steady aim stands a chance against Hitler’s Nazi Zombie Army!

Key Features

A Heart-stopping New Campaign
  • Battle through blood-drenched levels in a Berlin overrun by Hitler’s supernatural forces.
  • Adapt to harrowing new enemies – occult commanders, roof-jumping snipers, undead suicide infantry and worse...
  • Test your sniping skills under extreme pressure, keep your cool, and keep a boomstick handy – just in case.
Share the Terror With Four Player Co-op
  • For the first time in Sniper Elite history, battle your way through a campaign built for up to four players.
  • Fight back-to-back with a German officer, a scientist and a Russian soldier.
  • Work together or face annihilation – plan your positions, set your traps and make your stand.
New Enemies. Same Award-winning Sniping
  • See every putrid lung burst, every rotten bone shatter with the return of Sniper Elite's acclaimed X-Ray ‘kill cam’.
  • Experience the genre-best sniping ballistics and precise controls that made the series a best-seller.
  • Take into account gravity, wind, velocity, stability and more under the pressure of the zombie onslaught. You don't want to miss.
NOTE: Steam keys will not activate in Germany

A challenging & atmospheric wave shooter // Recommended for co-op with friends

+ Includes co-operative play, which enhances the entertainment value massively
+ Bullet time and X-ray features are excellently employed, look fantastic, and the frequency can be scaled up or down as the user prefers
+ Points system encourages taking risks with difficult and long-range shots; often does well to increase the feeling of satisfaction earned when eliminating a difficult sniper
+ Loot and cover mechanics are minimalist and practical
+ Gunplay and hit mechanics are all top-notch; everything connects well and feels appropriate
+ The game's atmosphere is absolutely palpable; this is largely enhanced by the shrill screams of the enemy mobs and the dark theme music pervading throughout
+ Levels are well-designed and objectives are clearly marked; one is not likely to get lost while moving about
+ Quality audio design
+ Lighting plays well against the walls, and generally looks excellent in terms of quality
+ Environmental textures are quite detailed; overall visual presentation is adequate

- Plot is nonchalantly presented and woefully underdeveloped
- Characters are as bland as smooth stones; no lines, no reactions, nothing
- Game shows an over-reliance on wave mechanics; gets frustrating and predictable in a hurry
- Realistic lighting is often sacrificed for atmosphere; that is, while the lighting mechanics themselves are done quite well, the colors and tones of the lighting feel extremely out of place and unrealistic
- There is really only one boss, and it is encountered more than once; boss fights are bland and uninspired
- Bodies will, more often than not, disappear a bit too quickly to loot to one's satisfaction or requirements
- Precious little in the way of collectibles and in-game lore; does not lend to a high replay value, save for co-operative play with friends

What initially looked like an awesome version of sniper elite with zombies, soon became a repetitive game with a boring storyline and recycled scenery from the original installment.

Go here, survive this wave, kill this boss.
Go there, survive this other wave, kill the same boss again. Gj, you completed the game.

I enjoy the Sniper Elite series, but this game doesn't really compare. It's the arcade version of what a hastily-thrown-together version of a Sniper game might look like. There's really no story to speak of and a decent amount of the content isn't even accessible without a co-op partner or three. The game was clearly designed with that squad-based co-op experience in mind. I didn't really know what I was getting into when I bought it, because had I known that I probably would have avoided it in the first place.

The worst part is that the gameplay seems to have forgotten the name of the series: the emphasis is not on sniping at all. And there aren't any fun stealth moments either. There are far too many zombies at far too close a range. Instead you're much better off using explosives and automatic weapons if you can find them and just going in loud every time, in every situation.

If that's the kind of game you want then I can understand that, but it's not what I wanted from a Sniper game.
