This table feels slower than some of the others, maybe because there's not as a clear a mission structure as the ones where you hit a sink hole and select with bumpers. The main objective is to pick a side and recruit all 8 heroes by completing objectives like combos and bumper hits. With the sides of the 'fight' changing dynamically it feels like the Starfighter Assault table, but it doesn't impact on scoring capacity as much.

It's fun, tries to be a bit too dramatic and the news bites get a bit annoying though. There's plenty of good effects, and the slow-mo fights between Iron Man and Cap are pretty cool. I think it's good for players who like a longer slow-burn table like Han Sole, rather than something faster paced and points intensive like Spiderman.

Not a fan of this table.

Gameplay - The table flow is awkward, the lanes require exact shots and the "energy lane redirects" often seem to randomly redirect the ball. Gaining team members is confusing. The pointers for which locations to hit to gain characters on your side are inadequate. Once triggered you have an extremely short amount of time to hit the combination of targets needed. The Captain America vs Iron Man fights in slo-mo are fun, but like gaining allies, the timing for hitting targets is short, and it's not always obvious where you need to shoot. Overall a table that is very demanding.

Theme - Somewhat cool, but I was not a fan of the comics, so it actually works against the table for me.

Scoring - Usually a low scoring table.

This table is so badly configured it hurts.

- The drain (space between flippers) is so wide that you have to practically "tilt" the game in order to get to it.
- The colors of the backboard and the ball style makes it hard to track.
- The plunger slips. When you have maximum pull the game dribbles the ball out.
- The standup targets are incredibly distracting, and are often the reason that tracking of the ball is lost.
- The ramps are raised so that you lose track of the ball, regardless of the pictures shown in demo.

+ Good audio.
+ Great story and dramatics. It truly is one of the most deep stories I've ever played on any pinball table.

Overall, its not worth the headache and the bare and almost non existant leaderboards (with some of the most pitiful scores compared to other tables) should be answer enough to stay far away from this, no matter how much you enjoyed the Civil War story.

Such a shame.

The theme is quite good if you like Marvel stuff, but I think the the way this particular table is set up is unsatisfying and not much fun, with most the ramps are at awkward angles (and not good awkward) and nothing really else on the table at all.

Something about the layout of this particular table just doesn't work for me. Seems like I hit the walls between the ramps way more often than the ramps themselves.

Civil War is definitely my least favorite table for Pinball FX2. The table is not designed well to make for enjoyable pinball. Plus the super hero vs super hero theme brings me down when I play it.

So hard, I bet you're not going to comeback to this table ever again. Sad because this is one of the most thematic and good looking tables.

The ramps on this game just don't seem like they are set in a way that gives the player much chance to succeed.

Tries to do too much, too many different mechanics working against each other doesn't feel good. Too much talking and plot, this is a pinball game not the next Hideo Kojima title. Overall board feels sparse and boring for all the stuff they tried to wedge in there. The droning monotonous music will make you want to drill a hole in your head after a few rounds, and instead of pumping you up puts you to sleep.

Rocommend? nah, I'd pass

Edit: And not sure why, but the playtime is WAY off. I've played this table several times since I've purchased it, and while I don't have a TON of time on it, I KNOW I've played more than an hour on it. >_> (Just bought it a couple of days ago.)

I too am having TREMENOUS issues with this table. The Stamford mini-game is almost impossible to score well on, and the actual game itself is one of the most difficult tables I've played on PFX2. I'm no pinball Wizard, but I have shot well into double digit millions on most my other tables. My average, though, is usually 1-5 million on most games. On this table I haven't even broke 10 mil, and my high score is eight mil. Usually though, I'm within the 1-5 mil range on here.

It's fun to play, but hard as hell. Being a true Civil War fan, I enjoy the dramatics and theatrics, but as others have pointed out before, much of that clouds the playing field so bad that objectives become damn near impossible to make out/complete. Especially distracting is the gaudy neon red that damn near blinds you and is set for the whole screen, not just the table, when you initiate the Iron-Man Vs. Captain America mini-battle. I kep playing it for the challenge, but can hardly reccomend it to others due to the high frustration levels. I really want to, and I do like it, despite its difficulty, but I can NOT, in good conscience, reccomend it to others. (Which is why, like other reviewers, I wish Steam had a 'Mixed' review button.) :/

Pros: Fun to play.
True to the story, and makes the story a bit more immersive.

Cons: Lanes almost impossible to hit.
WAY too much table clutter.
EXTREMELY fast table.
No time to make mission hurry-ups. (I know that sounds stupid, but on this table, with all its complications, time is
a most pressing issue, and there is most certainly not enough of it.)
Geometry of table is HORRENDOUS.

This is the hardest table that there is, so I can understand the frustration of others.
I enjoyed it, as it tells the comics story of Civil War (which different than the movies), and when you study how to recruit heroes to your side (I like Cap must more than Rust Man) it's a little easier. I admit I played many, many hours ( more than 10) on this table until I got the result I wanted (currently ranked around 86th place).
Yes, I didn't get any achievement as it was too hard even when scoring so much, but I like the theme.

I was going to rate this one higher but I agree with the negative posters I didnt really care for this game that much. Its a very tough pinball table overall, If your an expert then you might have fun with this table. I am not one and did not care for this table.

WARNING: Since May 12, 2015 you can't play this anymore without accepting a disgusting EULA which essentially changes this into spyware. They even did it after the fact to anyone who bought it when there was no EULA at all (which is illegal at least in Europe). They promised a solution, but never gave one, even after four months have passed now.
