Overall this game is well done. I am not a fan of this games "pay to play" style. The first table is free, but all of the others must be purchased. This works well for the devs because the first table gets old rather quickly.

EDIT
I have not played this game in a while, and it seems as if some aspects of the game have changed. Take my review with a grain of salt.

I always loved pinball since I played Space Cadet on Win XP, and this game here has some really lovely tables I enjoy playing them a lot. Sorcerer's Lair is a classic and I also like Pasha and Secrets of the Deep. Star Wars themed tables are very nice. I turned my monitor 90 degrees, connected a PS3 gamepad and tweaked some GPU settings that affected responsiveness, so now I have a really smooth and immersive pinball experience.

This is the most horrible table I have ever had the misfortune to play. Looks good, but dont be fooled. The game play is horrible, with the ball getting smashed around the table NOT HITTING ANYTHING for exeedingly long periods at a time. No matter what you do, no matter how hard you co ordinate your shot, it goes FREAKING NO WHERE. Getting into these loops fo frustration just makes me wanna smash the table. No fun, No enjoyment what so ever. Apart from the free table, the rest cost you an arm and a leg. Total ♥♥♥♥. keep scrollin.

The "EULA crap" is distracting from the fun the actual game provides. Five to ten tables are sure to keep you occupied for a long time. Ball physics are adequate, although the movement is "jerky" when on high AA setting on a gtx960 and was "jerky" on gtx660 a few years ago. I don't use AA often anyway so I don't care for that. The gameplay is smooth, fun and colorful.

If I can even convince 1 person to save their money on this title I'd be happy. (If it was jivjov I'd be ecstatic!) But in general do not support any Zen Studios products because they are likely to change your legal terms, say anything they want and you'll be forced to agree or lose your money.

HUGE CON:
Zen/Microsoft added a EULA to the title. That in and of itself isn't the problem. As long as the EULA was added BEOFRE consumers purchased the title that would be fine. The problem is that they are holding every license/subscription hostage for all of the EXISTING consumers who owned this title BEFORE the EULA was added. e.g. They added the EULA a few months ago and consumers are FORCED to agree to it before they can play the title again. There's been a consistently ongoing discussion about their actions in http://steamcommunity.com/app/226980/discussions/0/620712999988337987.

So do not support an anti-consumer, anti-EU laws, anti-moral compassed company. They could have easily avoided this issue IF they left FX2 alone and created an FX3 which contained the EULA and let consumer DECIDE.

The worst part is that when directly asked as per the instructions of the EULA, Zen will not disclose what it is they/3rd parties are collecting.

PROS:
Some tables were fun. Not all. But at least you could spend about 3 minutes trying each board before you purchased it.

SUGGESTION to Steam & 3rd party Publishers/Developers:
Steam/VALVe should reset the refund clock if a Publisher/Developer adds a EULA to a title AFTER the title has been released. That way consumers can actually make a choice:
A) 'I accepting your new legal terms' (and letting the publisher keep the spent money)
OR
B) 'I don't agree to your new terms' (and I'll be getting my money back. You should have had the EULA when I originally purchased the title or learned not to add it post-sale.)

Great mixture between arcade game and pinball. If you are someone who likes traditional pinball, this might not be for you but if you enjoy pinball with a side of arcade element, then pick this up. Great physics, graphics, sound, and challenge, this will not disappoint. I play this competively against my brother and we go head to head on the high scores via the Leaderboard option. If you can find this in a bundle (like on Humble Bundle), it is a great deal.

This game gets most things right. A lot easier to set up than mame stuff or VisualPinball when building a pinball cabinet or something. Works when you turn the display to portrait orientation. Menus and user interface stinks, though. Once you're playing the game, it's fine.

Please send me a photo of what you are using to play Pinball FX2, whether it
be a virtual pinball cabinet or simply turning your monitor for vertical
orientation. I just need to verify that this is not for public use.

I just LOVE this game. Fantastic graphics, great audio. The physics are as good as you could wish for. I love the 'unreal' element this brings to the genre. That is to say the firery balls, the characters flying all over the screen and other visual effects that could never be on a real table. If you find these get in your way then maybe you are missing the whole point, and Pinball Arcade may suit your ball skills. But for me this game scratches every itch. And comes with fantastic support, even 3 years after its release its still getting great, fresh new tables. 10/10. 5 stars

I'm a pretty big fan of pinball. I'm not a big fan at all of Pinball FX and the tables therein. Visually, they're fantastic, but only if you're watching someone else. It's a real pain when Spider Man swings in front of your flippers, or you have massive explosions going off that distract your tracking from the hyper-kinetic ball. Pinball FX is not going for realism or emulating pinball, and is very much invested in maximizing the potential of digital pinball, thus the games feel faster than what you would see in traditional pinball, or even something like The Pinball Arcade. This is usually to the game's detriment, in my eyes.

Personally, I dislike the feel of the game. At no point does the ball feel controllable, and in some instances, the physics are simply wrong or buggy. Drop catches and live catches are rare but seemingly possible; they don't seem like something you can actively do as the technique looks to me more of a strange collision bug than actual skill and timing. I found myself having less fun playing the game due to inconsistencies in physics reactions, shots not registering, and collision bugs with flippers, ramps, other balls and walls.

Table rules are deeper than necessary, requiring detailed study of the rule sheet. Which, by itself is fine, however there is a bit of an issue when you can't figure out what you need to shoot for due to information not being presented clearly by the game. Firing up a game and learning the rules intrinsically is just not going to happen. Additionally, many modes require simply grinding shots, which to me, is remarkably boring. Coupled with the shot registration bugs, actually working toward a mode or a strategy tends to be more infuriating than it's worth.

Many of the tables borrow shot concepts from existing pinball tables, which is great! However, they seem to only have borrowed the mechanic, but have not paid any attention to ball flow and angle after the fact - many shots are simply drains waiting to happen. You are literally being punished with a ball drain for successfully making a shot. Additionally, some concepts are used, but simply fail to work. For instance, the Venom table looks to attempt the outlane gate nudge-back concept used on Bally's Centaur... which would be amazing if the designers understood that having the bounce post about a mile away from the gate and the sensitivity for tilting cranked on the game makes the gate-save concept useless.

Overall, if you're looking for something different in the pinball space, try a table from Pinball FX, but do so knowing you're going to be playing tables made by people who don't seem to grasp the idea of game layout or rules design.

A lot of FUD being slung here

I have to wonder how many of those slinging FUD are ones that were banned for cheating, because if you actually READ the EULA It spells everything out quite clearly..if you wanna have access to the leaderboards? You use the latest client...that's it. No secret spying, none of the BS being slung by the reviews here, simply you can't use old clients if you want to put your name on the leaderboards. Considering every other time I've seen such a thing it was because they were having serious issues with pirates and hacked game clients? I think we can all guess who is doing the FUD slinging.

As for the game itself? in a word FUN with a capital F! The tables are great, with so many mini-games and cool animations the first few times you play you'll lose because you were too busy gawking at all the cool stuff, its a real blast. Great physics, fair tables, you'll wish you could get real life tables that can do what these do!

Happens Zen decided to reset all the leaderboards a couple months ago. Nice surprise. Way to suck the will even out of an occasional score-chaser like me. I don't even want to know what some of the hiscorers must have felt.

EULA. this should be illegal based upon a breach of contract. when you purchase any item with terms both parties should be held acountable to uphold said terms. to tell a consumer that the terms have changed and that they can not use the product that they own anymore without the concent of their new contract is b*** sh**. privacy is the subject on hand, but i wantto adress another. i'm a plumber IRL if you call me with a problem and hire me to fix said problem it is my job to fix it and if i don't i charge you nothing not even a service fee. i belive that one should not pay for services unrendered. (the medical feild should apply this ideal). it's simple i pay you money for goods or services and don't latter tell you that i will make your plumbing unusable unless you will agree to let me to collect and distribute your personal information.

Avoid like the plague.

I stopped playing this game when developers started making some shaddy moves with user privacy, user documents, etc...

Edit:
Here i summarized why i don't agree the EULA and uninstalled it, right now Jan/09/2015:

EULA :

The data we process on you may include, but is not limited to: email address, device ID, and IP-address. (I don't like how that "is not limitied to" sound, it's shaddy to use that kind of words in a legal documment)
...

6. THIRD PARTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
