Over dit spel

Live the life of a Monster, from birth to elderhood and beyond, making decisions that affect the world of Monsters and Humans.

You live in the village of Omen, and your favorite snack is the fingers of small children. As a Monster, you pop up in the most interesting places — what do you do when three angry bears discover a young child in their cabin? Or when you spy a wolf hunting down that woman with the red cloak?

As a Monsterling, your choices are simple ones. Do you chase those poor little mice (+1 Ferocity) or protect them from the dogs (+1 Kindness)? Do you come clean about that fungus your friends ate (+1 Honesty) or cover for them (+1 Bravery)? As a youth, your choices determine your personality.

But all youngins must grow up. Monsters and Humans have been at odds for centuries, and there are Human villages on the other side of the enchanted woods. When Human children get lost in those dark and winding thickets, do you terrorize them for fun (+1 Ferocity)? Do you help return them to Human civilization to prove that not all Monsters are to be feared and hated (+1 Kindness)? Or do you fatten them up for Human foie gras — a Monster delicacy? All this, to the backdrop of increasing tensions between Monster- and Humankind.

Key features:

  • Balance Bravery, Cleverness, Ferocity, Honesty, Kindness, and Respect to wield political power.
  • Over 900 choices to make. Devour Little Red Riding Hood. Gobble up Hansel and Gretel. Eat the Three Little Pigs.
  • Encounter different adventures each time you play, with a dozen or so possible endings.
  • Bonus: Become a Neurosurgeon without having to attend medical school. That's value!

Cute, simplistic, and casual. A good game to unwind with!

Monster Loves You! is a short choose-your-own-adventure game. Each achievement here are the different endings possible in the game. The story is easy to follow and guess since the choices and stat system are simple, at best. The story was written in good jest, so don't expect anything heavy or deep. Afterall, you're naught but a monster.

PS: This is great to play with with children. My nieces enjoyed it with my lively storybook-telling voice on top of the cute pictures.

AUDIO: Nice                                               AESTHETIC: Basic
MEMORABILITY: Alright                            WORTH: Big Discount

PROS: Unique story with a lot of safe, spoon-fed lore appropriate for most audiences. Cartoony feel that is not common with this text adventure style game, though a welcome addition to the genre. Lots of different paths and endings available to tour.

CONS: Virtually no challenge. Graphics feel a bit over-used and stock. Writing is a little childish at times.

OVERALL: This game is cute, I enjoyed playing through it. I'm sure if this team took on more adult themes in their next text-based adventure project, it would go wonderfully. I highly question the price tag of 10 USD or why you would ever want a three-pack, however.

Aww thanks Monster, I love you too!

A charming choose your own adventure game in a world with monsters. The best fun is reading about how your monster turns out after making lots of right (and wrong) decisions. Really fun game and I hope people enjoy it as much as I did.

Monster Loves You! is short and solid.

It's a choose-your-own-adventure style game with a very high density of choices to be made crammed into a small package. The result is that everything you do feels important, and with too much to do in a single play-thru the replayability factor is somewhat high. However, the game isn't long and multiple play-thrus--once you understand the format--can be accomplished in rapid succession and the game peters out.

Still, it has lovely graphics and makes for a few really fun rounds in a notably unique monster world and culture. While not being expansive it is highly detailed and definitely worth a look if you enjoy the pick-your-consequences genre.

Monster Loves You! is a cute choose your own adventure game. You are a newborn monster and you have to develop a few skills that may help you later in the game. You can do that by choosing an adventure, and make the choices that you would like to do.
You grow older, and there are many more adventures to follow. Will the other monsters respect you? And how do humans view monsters and visa versa? You can decide that with your own behaviour in the stories.

The game is not very long, I think you can complete one story in 45 minutes. Luckily, the game has a high replayability due to the multiple endings. The stories where you can choose from are amusing to read.
The artstyle looks cartoony and I think it looks very cute as well. The slow paced music fits the game perfectly, because it is a cute but relaxing tune.

I would recommend to buy this game in a sale. It is a good game if you want to take a break from all the fastpaced games.

My rating for this game: 7/10
