About the Game

The extreme and unpredictable conditions that characterised the Lost Planet series return, harsher than ever before. Lost Planet 3 reveals new truths about the foreboding planet and the colonial history of E.D.N. III.

Lost Planet 3 introduces Jim Peyton, a rig pilot who leaves Earth to take on a hazardous but lucrative contract on E.D.N. III. Working for Neo-Venus Construction (NEVEC) who are preparing the planet for colonisation, Jim joins his fellow pioneers at the Coronis base and begins surveying the uncharted terrain and obtaining samples of the planet’s energy supply – Thermal Energy.

With NEVEC’s existing Thermal Energy reserve running low the fate of the Coronis mission depends on the natural source of the energy supply being located. Realising that this is a great opportunity for a huge pay-off and early ticket home to his family, Jim braves the risk of the treacherous environment and threat of the indigenous Akrid.
Acting as a home away from home and boasting an array of tools that can assist Jim on the field, the utility rig provides Jim’s safety and is essential not only for his contract work but also his protection against the ever-changing climate.

Lost Planet 3 will deliver a diverse range of gameplay including on-foot battles and intense first person action. With a number of multiplayer modes and a compelling single player experience, Lost Planet 3 will delve deeper into the Lost Planet universe, uncovering hidden truths within the unique and dynamic environment of E.D.N. III.

Pretty good game. Much more story focused than the first two. Frustrating at points, but still pretty well made. Not sure why it received such mediocre reviews; I didn't feel like it was a slog like lots of them described. The story and the characters are really well done, and the guns feel good. Like I said, pretty good.

Lost Planet 3 is an interesting entry in the series that presents the plight, of the often one man army Jim Payton in such a likable way that it's hard to not appreciate the difference in character form we're normally presented. Perhaps the game should have had the moniker, "a bad day at the office" as this is what the game feels like in terms of the tasks being undertaken for small bits of coin. Lost Planet 3 should please fans, but won't necessarily win over any new ones. If you like a bit of suspenseful no frills action gaming with a touch of mech, and ice cold extremes, then this is worth checking out.

This game is a master work, i cannot believe the reviews this game got by the critics (you should read them), their reviews are complete horse-♥♥♥♥. This game has one of the most long, and strong campaigns i've ever experienced... The story is unforgetable, a strong protagonist, the graphics are beautiful and really show what a hazerdous freezing environment would look like. My rating, I'd give this game a 9.3 out of 10, because this game has a lot of work put into it, long campaign, lots of sub-missions, and the multiplayer is awesome (though many people dont play it as they used too sadly), the other characters have meaning, reason, actual personalities, it's incredible how much work they put into these peoples personalities. I'd take off .7 just for some of the bugs that are in the game, but so far, the game hasn't frozen, crashed, it's completely fucntional! The other critic reviews are complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (forgive me for my language, but it's true), they judged this game for its long story line, and complained about how there wasnt enough action, (trust me, this game has story, action, and reason equal). IF you'd like to question why i'm saying why they are judging their review, think about the latest call of duty games, and some of the other popular franchises... COD Ghosts, and Black Ops 2 were complete ♥♥♥♥ ups, and reproductions of their older games, Ghosts still uses the same engine from Quake which is over 15 years old!, and they still use the old COD 4 MW server finder in the Multiplayer. and what did these games get? considering the fact that they're practically reproductions from previous games, plus their stories and campaigns have all action, but they leave out story, all its about is the multiplayer these days... COD Ghosts on average got a whopping: 8.5 (lower than the previous games)... an 8.5 on a complete reproduction? And look at Lost planet 2, it got the same ratings as Lost planet 3, but go and compare the two... HOW much work did Spark, and CAPCOM put into Lost Planet 3, compared to Lost Planet 2, or even 1!
Look, Lost Planet 3 is an amazing game, for people who enjoy RPG, and strong stories, im sure FPS players wouldnt enjoy this game, but im sure that the other types of gamers would love this game, and the franchise. It's completely original, and is something that took years to get the story interesting.
Actually, lets do some more talk on how Movie's are rated these days... sure peopel enjoy an action movie every now and then, but when's the last time a good movie came out, with less action, and drama, and more story based? for example: They (as in HollyWood studios) rush movies out with action (be mature...), sex, nudity, and comedy/stupidity. its true, but a good movie that im talking about is called: Into The White, its a true story based in world war 2. Basically there is a battle that is being fought in Norway (relates to my steam name :P), for resources, note that this is before the Americans joined the war, before 1941. The British are aiding the Norweigens against the Germans, you can look up the rest, im not going to spoil it.
I HIGHLY recommend this game to all who enjoy: Story, Action, RPG's, and memorable Campaigns. I spent a whopping 12 hours trying to complete the campaign, who knows how many it could take if you complete EVERY MISSION?!? I hope this review is helpful, This game is truly amazing, and i'd pay for a Lost Planet 4. Good Day.
P.S don't believe these negative reviews.

+ great production values , some fantastic graphics
+ great voice acting, you can customise your music when travelling
+ good story
+ fps gameplay is good, satisfying
+ some interesting side quests

- seems they try to make a lost planet game based on dead space success, lp3 feels more like a dead space than a lost planet game, especially in design
- dont really like the main character (but then it might be just me)
- more variety in enemies would be welcome

as a single game it's certainly worth it, didn't expect it to be that good, sometimes i wonder what the reviewers think when they write such negative reviews for a game like this and giving positive reviews to retro crap, at least this is an AAA game and it shows.
