It lacks blood and gore, very dull and bad outdated graphics, no pvp (or not many people play it) very confusing at first with so much garbage around so its not newb friendly, limited stash for so many garbage drops, optimal builds are pretty limited because community is elitist as always so there are not too many viable builds to choose for optimal raiding. They don't update some old heroes (they fall behind vs the op marvel heroes or the new ones), wolverine for example and some others. But I believe the worst thing is like I said before is no freaking blood and gore (I miss diablo 1). I still recommend it though, its not that bad but It could be better if marvel wasn't so greedy. I'd prefer PoE or Grim Dawn any day

this game is like Diablo 2 with better controls,
instead of mage, brute, or summoner you get to choose Scarlet Witch, Wolverine, Dr. Doom or one of the other 60 Marvel characters they have in the game.

Ultron is coming out in a day or two, he looks like he will be fun
Beast from the X-men is coming in a few months, i cant wait for that

Plenty of heroes to choose from, nice balance of microtransaction vs ingame obtaining, practicually everything can be acquired ingame so no purchase actually necersary. Nice variety of heroes available and interesting combat skills with skill tree for you to work with. Also, if you're looking for a Diablo game this is certainly one you wouldn't want to pass on. All in all pretty good game, just wish there were more content as the Marvel Universe has plenty of lore to do so.

I feel qualified to leave a response for this game now that I've sunk a fair amound (~700) hours into it.

Marvel Heroes is an amazing Diablo-esque ARPG with elements of MMOs and the heart of City of Heroes/City of Villains elements thrown in, but they do more than that. I've been playing this game for almost a year, and I can safely say that anyone who grew up on DIablo 2 will be happy with a game like this and the new supergroup features that allow you to co-op with friends, acquaintances, and random group memebers more easily. the LFG (Looking For Group) tab also allows you to find new people to co-op with that are working on the same quests as you.

Even though the game is a bit old now, it's constant updates and aestethic art are very appealing. More than that, the characters are very well built! With over 50 characters to choose from (heros and villains alike) you can enjoy the game for free (yes, for free) without ever spending a dime! There is an in-game currency which drops while you play. This currency can be used to buy iconic Marvel heroes to play as, Marvel team-ups, one-time boosts, or anything else the Devs decide to make available. You can literally unlock every character, team-up, and a few inventory slots in the game without ever spending money. With that said, I need to disclose that I have spent money on this game to buy special in-game items and to support the amazing Devs who have made all 50 characters feel unique, release regular updates, include new content for free, hold events what feels like every week, and give freebies away on a regular basis.

Gazillion has done an incredible job of recapturing the feel of classic ARPGs in a format that will appeal to Marvel fans, hardcore and casual MMO players, and fans of ARPGs.

If you are looking for a great Free 2 Play MMOARPG, Marvel Heroes 2016 is an amazing choice. It's like Marvel's Ultimate Alliance meets Diablo 2. Not only is it a great game, it also has an amazing community and dev team to match. A portion of the dev team are very active on the forums and communicate with the members of the community as well as play the game themselves.

There's currently a nice mix of 57 playable characters such as Spiderman, Dr. Strange,Moon Knight, members of the Xmen, Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts(Venom, Green Goblin, Elektra, etc.), and more! At the end of this month the 58th playable, Ultron, will be entering the game. You can test out all the characters to level 10 to see which one you want to unlock first. As you play the game you will earn in game currency which will allow you to unlock playable characters as well as other things like team ups and pets. You can level your playable characters all the way to Level 60..but just because you reach 60 doesn't stop progression! The Omega System is there to keep it going. Here you can continue to customize and develop your characters even further! Want a different look for your playable characters? There's currently 423 costumes, which is a whole hell of a lot of costumes! Costumes you mainly get from purchasing for real cash, HOWEVER each character you can unlock (just by playing), comes with a default costume. Once you reach level 60 you can choose to start back at level 1 and take them back to level 60(prestige). You can prestige them each numerous times, and each time you do it gives you a default costume. You can take 3 costumes to the crafter and blend them together for any random costume that in the game. Not only that but there is a small chance to get a costume as a loot drop as well. As you might notice some of the older costumes might not look as good as some of the newer ones, but don't worry as they have already started giving visual updates to them. Emma Frost is about to get one this month and it looks amazing.

Not only are there currently 57 playables, there's also 49 team ups that you can get to fight along side your playable heroes, most of which can be unlocked just by playing the game. There's also a slew of pets, a total of 45 pets so far, which include Bamf!, Doop, Spider Ham and a mini Blackbird! There's also tons of achievements where you can get special costumes, team ups, and other kool stuff.

There is one thing I do suggest you buying if you love collecting lots of loot.. stash tabs. This is one item that you can't normally get from just playing, you need to purchase them with real cash(you get a couple to start and you can get one this month though for free just buy playing). If you love the game it's definitely worth purchasing and showing the support and help fund the continued development of the game.

As far as content is concerned...This game has 3 different Patrol zones(Midtown Manhattan, Industrail City, and Secret Invasion) with 2 difficulties that you can play solo, group with up to 4 others, or just join people to complete missions and battle lots of villians in the Marvel Universe. There's an Age Of Ultron zone where you can team up with 4 other people to clear missions and battle Ultron. This mode will soon be getting an even greater difficulty. There are 13 boss terminals with 3 difficulty levels in which you can run solo or group up with 4 other people. They just recently released the Secret Invasion terminal which features Super Skrull and they are about to release the 14th, which is an Ultron terminal around the end of this month. There's a 10 chapter story mode that takes you to places like the Savage Lands, Asgard, and Latveria. They are about to introduce Dynamic Level Scaling to the game where you will never outlevel the zone you are in and you can play with your friends no matter what level they are. They also have 3 side story mission zones known as One Shots where you can do solo or up to 4 other players to take on Map Ape, Mr Hyde, Lizard, Kraven, and the Red Skull! Not to long ago, they also released the Danger Room which randomly generates secarios with different difficulty levels. You can solo them or group with up to 4 others(Cosmic difficulty is heavily aimed at group play). Marvel Heroes is also the first MMOARPG to introduce Raids! There are currently 2 different 10 man raids, one that takes place in Muspelheim where you battle the might Surtur(2 difficulties with different mechanics), and the other takes you Marvel Heroes version of the Axis story line where you battle a jacked up Red Skull/Onslaught(currently one difficulty). They will also be introducing a 5 man version of the Muspelheim raid soon. There's also 2 older modes that will be getting an overhaul down the road, the SHIELD Holo Sim and X Defense modes. Currently Holo Sim is a mode where you can take on waves of enemies that escalating difficulty that can be done solo or with one other person. Currently X Defense is aimed at group play for up to 5 players. Here you battle waves of enemies in the X Mansion to see how far you can go.

They have a good variety of weeky alternating events which includes one event that takes you into Limbo to fight N'astirh. Besides these events there's also Tournament with various visual prizes. Every few months they put on special events. For example, May was a month long Civil War event that that ran with the Civil War movie, and this month we are celebrating 3 years of Marvel Heroes!! Each week has something planned and you can earn cake slices to get get a free stash tab, hero ticket, 2 team ups, a potted Groot pet, chests that contain the best items in the game, and other stuff as well!!

As you might read from some reviews there are bugs that come with each patch. Obviously if you play online games you know this already, it's not going to be any different anywhere else. Also the game has had it's share of performance issues, mainly in busy Patrol zones but the devs are working constantly to improve the overall performance of the game. The launch was really rough and unplayable for some and MH has come extremely far since then. You may see people posting they can't launch the game or there's an error can be fixed simply by verifying they integrity of the game cache or running steam as an admin.. or if you run the regular client repairing the files or running the MH client as an admin. Another thing I wanted to mention character balancing. Balancing over 50 characters can't be an easy thing to do. Some devs can't do it with 6 characters, imagine having to do it with over 50.. so yes, some characters are stronger than others. However, the devs put forth effort each week to do the best they can at trying to balance the huge roster and taking in lots of players feedback. You also may see people complain here or on the MH forums that there's not enough content. As you can see above there's actually a good amount of zones and things to do in game. Often times when people are complaining about not enough content, it's not because there's not new or enough content but it's not content they wanted or preferred.. there's a big difference. I'm not joking when I say this, but new content when added to the game you will still see people saying we don't get new content. Like I mentioned, it's not that there's not new content, it's just not content they wanted or preferred.

So as you can see the game isn't perfect, no game is. So expect things not to go perfect each week. The pros of this game outweigh the cons by far.Do I recommend this game? Hell yeah I do! I think this game is awesome and we have an absolutely amazing community which includes the dev team. We do have some trolls.. but what game doesn't. Some people just want to watch the world burn.

What are you waiting for? Download the game and try it out for yourself.

This is a Diablo like APRG with superheroes. If you like those two things, you will probably like this game.

How free is it?

You get all content (story mode, instances and raids) for free. Gazillion (the developer) also hands out a lot of stuff for free at irregular intervalls.

What do you get when you start?

You get one free hero unlock the first day. The second day you play you get 400 splinters (the in-game currency), which is enough for one or two more heroes. After that you get a splinter every 8 minutes on the average, when you play actively (not sitting in a hub). You use these to unlock more heroes and team-ups.

You also get a free team-up in ch 3 of the story, and you can unlock another one easily (in under an hour) once you reach lvl 60 on one hero. Go to the MH site, the Achievements forum has intructions, search for the "Pirate Deadpool" thread.

How do they make money?

Selling skins (hero costumes), more storage and lotteries with skins as the top prizes.

You can also buy heroes and team-ups for real money if you are impatient.

Is there Pay-to-Win?

No. And there is no way you can tell in-game if someone has spent money on the game or not. Many of the people you will see wearing non-starter costumes actually got them for free as well, through prestiging (starting over from level one) where you get a new standard costume. 3 of these can be combined to make a new randomly selected costume.

This game might or might not be your cup of tea, but it's free, so if you like this type of game, give it a try!

Any Marvel fan would enjoy this game. A diablo style MMORPG where you get to use iconic Marvel heroes & villains.

In-game events are based on movies/comics released, which is super cool!

Developers are very active in game forums, so feel free to leave your feedback on the game or whichever character you would like to see on the roster next.
