The Age of Ultron Arrives

The Age of Ultron has arrived. Our 58th playable Hero, Ultron, has joined Marvel Heroes 2016!

About Ultron

It was a cold day in December when Ultron became self-aware. Hank Pym had no idea exactly what consequences the machine’s sentience would unleash on the world. But before the brilliant Avenger could act, Ultron rebelled. Not just against its creator, but against all organic life. Over time, Ultron has upgraded and rebuilt itself continually while pushing the evolutionary boundaries of synthetic life. Each step brings Ultron closer to perfection. But Earth’s mightiest heroes, the Avengers, have always pulled the plug Ultron’s campaigns. Now Ultron’s prime directive has been updated, taking this machine’s unlimited functionality to unstoppable levels.

Drop by the Ultron Forums for in-depth discussions on his powers, future costumes, and more.

its good. except for the fact that it took me only 11 hours to max out a character and get him fully loaded with the rarest gear so he destroys anything he approaches.
also message to devs, blade is way too overpowered, he can use a skill that every 12 seconds returns his hp to max and if for some reason he is somehow killed he just revives. his revive has a 5 minute cooldown though... either way if something can manage to cluster♥♥♥♥ this hero fast enough that he cant keep spamming his serum its still screwed because A.he would just revive B.he can just run away with his motorcycle, these devs attempt at balancing the motorcycle out by making it so you cant attack while on it still didnt do jackshit. if i am playing as blade and manage to get myself in a fight i cant take, i can just motorcycle out beating even players who have their speed skill maxed out, if you dont believe me try a race with someone, i found someone with their speed maxed (honor system ♥♥♥♥♥♥) and challenged them to a race, i easily beat him on my motorcycle and then comes the worst part about him. the way they "balanced him" was making him have a bloodlust bar, if this gets max, lines appear on your screen and you start losing your health sssssllllllooooowwwwwwlllllyyyyyy if this happens then you just have to press your serem, resetting the bar to 0 and refilling your health to max, or you could just go to your power screen and make it so your bloodlust never increases, your serems effects last longer, you do more damage, have more hp, etc. 10/10 would create balanced character again.
(despite the fact this character is super op, I have only seen 2 people using him in 11 hours of playing.)

ok, if you read that all, good work now time for a funny review because you are a good little reader.
>be me
>playing at 12 pm
>realize i played for 11 hours
>quickly check inventory
>mfw full set of unique armor
>try to get back to game tomorrow
>dont find it fun because each hit deals 8,000,000,000 damage
>end life because game got boring.

This game is the mouthwash for that bad taste in your mouth after playing DC Universe Online.

You won't have to buy 20+ dlcs to enjoy Marvel Heroes, either.

Fun to play for a few weeks and gets boring, come back a few months later, begin cycle again. If you like diablo or marvel its a good time for a free game that gets new content every 6 months to a year.

Marvel Heroes is a F2P ARPG, or a diablo like game if you aren't familar with the genre.

It does some things well, like a large cast with each being fairly unique in play style. The Omega System (think a more complex paragon system if you played D3) offers the same post max level progression. Many of the skills have good flashy looks. The gameplay is quick and you'll often feel powerful like a superhero should. The storyline is enjoyable for a playthrough...but after like any ARPG becomes something that simply slows down progression.

Which leads into the things it does not as well. Forced stat gains tied to storyline quest mean you're forced between grinding out those quest lines for skill points, mana, hp or be a weaker character for it. Progression without buying boost can feel slow, especially if there isn't a major event going on at the time. While there is always some form of an event going on, not all of them are fun and many of them will require you to play multiple times to get the "best" rewards.

The game has an odd mix between wanting to be a casual ARPG and an end grind heavy MMO. While you can enjoy the 1-60 experience and push to cosmic (hard mode) versions of what you've been doing without getting into the grind to hard. You will eventually hit the point of, do you want to turn this into a weekly grind where you have to do, X, Y, and Z to maintain effecient progression, switch to leveling a new hero, or taking a break.

I started playing this game back in 2014 but at the time I hated it, I did love the Diablo 3 look and feel but hated the money grabbing devs. The costs seemed quite high but as a F2P the costs of heroes and skins is now the norm from LOL to HOTS and just about every other F2P game. I actually think that it is worth putting some cash into it. Back in 2014 you couldn't play any other heroes, just whatever you had unlocked but now it seems that you can try all heroes up to level 10 then you can buy them to uncap them.

Got back in the game due to the cheap (which was free actually) Captain America Civil War promotions. Glad I did.

Amazin Marvel set of characters
Marvel Universe
Diablo 3 copy (View, loot, gamestyle)
Great super powers
Multiple Secps, talent trees
Companions (D3 Mercs)
Can try all superheroes
Can get all superheroes free
Great story mode for single player
Great multiplayer
Great community (didn't get scammed or not helped)

F2P (You gotta pay via microtransactions for everything)
Storage and Inventory are small for the loot you get (Must buy Extra Storage)
No custom looks but why would you want that, Heroes have their set costumes no?
Can cost a pretty penny to buy in game currency.

In Between:
Can get different looks by buying extra costumes/look
Different events to get free stuff.
Sales, 50% off, worth waiting on those.
BOGO - I used it too but only because I wasn't bothere, you pay for one character/companion and get another RANDOM one free. This is something they don't tell you but people did talk in chat so I was aware of it before purchasing.

YES - go play the game, even better if you have a few mates. Wait on offers before purchasing Gs or anything else as they are better than the BOGOs, after all 50% off is the same as buying for one and getting one free, but you control what you get. Log in every day for daily log in rewards, best companion so far is Wolverine which is a free log in. Buy Storage spaces whenever you can or when they are on sale. Enjoy the game.

This game earns itself a solid... MEH to a MEH-plus.

Dont' get me wrong, I've killed some time playing this and even spent some cash on buying characters (during Xmas sales), but it's kinda like a poor-man's Diablo. It's just more of the same with different characters.

On the plus side it's free and you can earn characters through the various movie-tie-in giveaways (i.e. Don't have Thor? Wait until Ragnarok is released in the movies and they'll likely give you a code to get Thor free - quite nice/awesome how they do that) and by earning shards in-game through playtime.

It's a pretty short game.

You can run chapter 1 - 9 really quickly and in order to do chapter 10 you'll need to grind a bit as you need to be level 60 to even start it.

You can earn playable heroes and team-up heroes for free but it's going to take A LOT of grinding. People say it's not that long or not that much but if you're a MMO veteran you already know that's just bs.

It's enjoyable for at least one playthrough with your favorite Marvel Hero.

It's fun and the community is awesome. Very helpful and way nicer than some other places I've played. Great Free To Play and you can earn in game currency free to unlock all the heroes. Awesome and a lot of variety with play styles. You're sure to find a favourite... or ten.

Do you like superheroes?

Do you like ARPG's, like Diablo 1 or 2 or 3?

If you answer yes to either of those questions, then check this game out.

You have nearly 60 playable superheroes to collect and play, plus lots of team ups (like Robin is to Batman, except of course that's DC and this is Marvel only). Each hero is fairly unique with there own powers / playstyle. You can play most of the Avengers / X Men / Guardians of the Galaxy / Defenders etc...

So its going to cost me a arm and a leg right? Well no, actually you really can play and earn pretty much everything for free. If you plan on collecting lots of heroes etc then you may want to spend some money on extra stash but that is really all. All the superheroes, team-ups can be obtained via in game currency, eternity splinters which drop 1 every 8 mins and you will get more from other sources. The costumes can be got from getting the Crafter to level 20 and blending 3 costumes you don't want to get a new random costume which can be any sold by the ingame store. You earn new costumes for the blender by prestiging which resets your level to 1 (so you after level to 60 again) but gives you another default costume. Given you can level 1-60 in a hour or so, you really can get free costumes.

So is the engame any good? The endgame consists of firstly passing the cosmic trial which differs in difficulty depending which hero you play. Getting your 1st hero past it can be very challenging and certain heroes like Squirrel Girl extremely difficult but Deadpool on the other hand fairly easy. After that Cosmic Danger Room can be very hard and there are raids which are hard while you are learning them. Also there are frequent tournaments which you can compete vs other players, usually last 1 day or 1 week and give prizes to 1st place, top 10%, top 50% etc...

In short there is alot to do with alot of different game zones and a serious amount of loot / gear to collect, plus constant and ever changing events which gives bonus currency like a MMO.

1,000's of hours of entertainment here if you get into it and the devs constantly update the game with new patches!

I highly recommend this game.
