I have played so many Free to Play games, but so far this is the only example of how good a F2P game could be.
Replayability : 7/10
Constant updates : 10/10
Events every month : 10/10
Dev's interaction with players : 9/10
Real F2P aspect : 9/10
Inevntory management : 3/10

At the start of the game you are given all heroes to play for free until they reach level 10, level 60 is max for unlocked heroes. Once you are done deciding which hero you want you can unlock 1 hero for free to lvl it to 60 (I suggest taking Deadpool 1st, since he has no energy cost and is fun to play).

Everytime you play the game, the game will drop Eternity Splinters for you to pick up, don't ignore them. You can use those Eternity Splinters to buy more heroes from the 'Eternity Splinter" vendor. You don't need to spend real/steam money for playing the game. The only thing you can might need to spend money is the costumes, but random costumes can be crafted too when you do Prestige. Prestige is releveling a hero from 0 to 60 once again, everytime you prestige you get a original costume of a hero, you can use 3 of the original costumes to craft 1 random costume.

There is atleast 1 event going on every month which will keep you hooked up to the game. The devs make sure the events are glitch-free.

The only thing I don't like about this game is that the default inventory is too short, and the Eternity Splinter price of STASH is also too high (600 Splinters) which takes long time to aquire compared to Random hero unlock box (175 Splinters).

Overall rating for the game : 8/10

If you like the IP and diablo-esque gameplay. Try it! It's f2p. It has gamepad support.

A major overhaul of the builds system will be coming in a few months time. To be honest, this is a good move to update heroes that are under powered. Personally for me, I'm pumped for the update to hit! A good game to visit time and again.

I bought a few games during the Steam Summer sale, and now those games are covered in virtual dust because I found Marvel Heroes around the same time. I started off with an incredible deal on the Civil War pack which gave me a running start at this fun and addictive game.
As people have mentioned, it is a Diablo style (wear out your mouse) MMO game where you get to play as your favorite Marvel Heroes. I liked that you can solo most of the content, but if you want to join others, I feel the game's community is very helpful and friendly.
There are various currencies in the game like loot dervived and found gold, Odin Marks for special items, various random event items and Eternity Splinters which you collect as you play. Eternity Splinters are the currency you can get new characters with or you can buy them for real world money called "G".
One major thing I liked about the game is that it truely is playable for free and various special events yield even more free items. Although, I eventually did pay real money with absolutely no regrets for some additional heroes and most importantly inventory space called Stash's. (That is the little catch in the free to play model, you have very limited inventory space.) I found that by waiting for sales and special offers you can build a pretty large base of characters easily without spending a ton of money and even when I do pay I feel like I'm getting way more of a value and playability than I have with many of the other paid games in my library.
The developers really stay on top of things creating new heroes, special events and additional content all the time. So it's nice to know they actually care about putting out and supporting a good product.
The gameplay is easy, but there are deep, complex and enjoyable aspects to it as well as you progress.
A few things I wish I knew starting off is items/loot from worst to best is: white, green, blue, purple, yellow and finally the unique brown for basic items. Relic's, Rune's and Artifacts and Legendary items are valuable for the more advanced development and depth of the character's and game. Selling loot for credits isn't very important until much later on. You are way better off donating loot to your Crafter and Enchanter who unlock options as they level. (You can donate to most vendors but I feel the Crafter is most important first.)
Team-Up Heroes are a lot of fun to have and help a lot if you solo often. I bought 1 and got 1 free on sale, and one came with the Civil War pack and one was free from an event. Also, you can use the same Team Up multiple times on the various main characters available. They say one of the best Team Ups is Pirate Deadpool, whom you get for free from doing a simple quest. I like Clea best and recommend getting her if you buy one.
There is a very in-depth forum available for questions you may have and most people will help you out if you just ask.
I recommend this game to everyone and especially Marvel fans! No regrets getting and playing this one.

I stumbled on to this game by pure accident. I expected very, very little from it (I'm too much of a comic and gaming nerd to believe that they'd do it right).
This was also the first time that I had tried a free game (I have over 85 paid games in my library), so there was also that touch of elitism in thinking that free could not be cool.
I was wrong and I admit it.
Is it perfect? Of course not; what is? Is it fun? yes. Easy to learn and complex to master? Yes. Are the controls fine? Yes again. I've read some complaints about them, but I personally had no need for digit-dexterity beyond the norm for gaming via keyboard.
Also, it truly is free, and you can unlock evry option with time and ggameplay. Of course you can get it faster via real money, but if you play a semi-reasonable amount, you'll earn it for free, Also, you can try every character to level 10 (out of 60 give or take) before you decide which to perma-unlock.
If you're curious, give it a try--it's free after-all. You may not come back to it or you may wind up as addicted as I have.

This game has come a long way since its release. In its current state, it is a very fun and fair f2p game. If you played it initially and didn't like it back then, you should definitely give it another shot! Needless to say, if you like Marvel games, this is probably the best thing we have at the moment!

There are tons of characters that are mostly fun to use and feel different. The animations, effects, and sounds are really good for an ARPG, and you really feel like a superhero/villain while playing. Unlike other ARPGs like PoE or Diablo, Marvel heroes actually have a lot of content focused for teamplay. There are even raids in the game that require a full team of players that require actual skills too. There are a lot of things to do, a lot of items/characters to farm/collect, and a lot of events to participate in. I come back to this game every time a new Marvel movie/tv show comes out, since the game usually has an event associated with them at the same time.

Overall, it's a solid 8/10 game overall, and a solid 9/10 for someone who either likes ARPGs or Marvel comics/movies. It's free to play, so why not give it a try?

Marvel Heroes is by far the game I spend the most time on at the moment.

The game is constantly evolving and improving from its original state. There is plenty of end game content. You can start with two free characters, and Gaz is extremely generous during events and holidays -- they normally give out three or four character boxes a year, and others can be unlocked by accumulating eternity splinters, which drop about every eight minutes.

Once you have your crafter leveled to twenty and your Hammer Bay experience topped (two primary goals during early gameplay) you can start working toward getting your gear maxed out and buying recipes.

Following the story is the best way to level your character to sixty, and gaz gives you the opportunity to 'replay' each character several times by prestiging. Each level earns you a different honorary color in chat while you play as that character. Once you have your character properly geared, you can advance to end game raids: Goldtron, Green and Red Meph, and Axis Onslaught.

The game is amazingly fun for entry level and advanced players who are fans of marvel, and is both very well done and often updated for an ftp.

A great concept brought into the Marvel Universe. It's like a cross between World of Warcraft & Marvel: Future Fight (Mobile Game). I'm glad they chose to include heroes from both the X-Men universe, Avengers universe, Fantastic4 universe and lastly other heroes that you might not know even existed unless you read Marvel comics. It had a really great cinematic introduction at the start, like all other games do, but afterwards the rest of the storyline are being told like you're reading a comic book with audio, which is a really unique take into a game that has a storyline. This is, also most likely the first game I've seen so far that is MMO + a storyline behind it.

However, the game can be further improved if even more heroes are added, and I'm really happy about the "choose any hero to play until lv 10). I'm really disappointed with the fps issue that I'm receiving from a game like this, and I have to play on Medium quality or lower, but sometimes I still get choppy frames. Also, I hope a more opened-world can be added, as the game feels like a board game, and also if we could rotate our camera, as when I zoom in to my character to make it more realistic, I can hardly see where I am going.

Overall, a really good game, and it has improved a lot since it officially first came out, as I did came across this game when it first came out, but had many doubts on it and saw many bad reviews on it. I'll edit the review as I progress throughout the game, and hopefully some of the common bugs commented by other players can be fixed in a upcoming update(s) soon. I'm rating it 8/10

P.S. use deadpool because he is OP

I simply love playing iconic Marvel characters, and this game delivers just that, the satisfying feeling of playing the Marvel characters you love. Tied to that you have a constant changing and evolving action RPG with decent amount of content and a lot of replay value due to the always increasing hero roster. It's definitely worth at least a try.

I'm going to start the review by saying that the game is free to play, so you may as well try it for yourself and see if you like it. If you're not sure what it is, it's basically Diablo II with a Marvel theme.

That said, the game is undergoing a rather substantial redesign right now (early indications suggest the game is becoming much more like Diablo III and much less like Diablo II). I'm personally not a fan of the direction the game is heading (since I had fallen in love with its previous iteration), but it's still hard to tell where the game will finally end up.

Of all the ARPGs I've played lately, this one does an amazing job of making you feel like a total badass. If you're looking for legitimate, tension-filled challenge, play Path of Exile, if you're looking to be a friggin' Superhero and pound some bad guys, play this. Lots of great voice acting, lots of character customization, fun comic book style cutscenes.

In terms of F2P, this game is very generous. You can try out every character up to a low level cap, and purchase them with an in-game currency or with real cash. The in-game currency always comes at you at a regular pace so if you keep playing you will be able to get the hero you want. Quite often there are events that give you free heroes and other free cash shop stuff. Right now, just logging in gets you Luke Cage for free since his TV series just hit Netflix.

I played this game for 3 years and bought a founders pack. I still log in and get the rewards daily but find myself playing less and less although I am excited for the update coming in a few months. The big negative for me is back in June or July there was a rash of banned accounts happening because of a gifting problem. Mine was one of those accounts. Luckly I had a backup account to continue on. Far as I am aware nobody with a banned account ever got any word back after appeals had went through. Anyway, overall this game is fun and has alot to do. I would recommend it to any comic fan out there that likes the Diablo style game. Totally free to play other than STASH and cosmetics.

time to time i can return to this game

they add content and try polish-change things regularly so when you got bored of it
you can just put it away for a while and than
you can get back later and will give you something new always
only that 'you play with superpowered toons
owning the battlefield on your level' feeling remains always the same :)

its casual friendly, story modes are roleplayable or rushable to grind
you can get almost every item with just playing i think there are only
decorative exclusives but not game breaking ones

with the new random bonus pick is even affordable to skip massive boring grind time
the lucky 90% discount card with biggest G bundle 20usd/16€ instead the
expensive 200/160 can unlock about half of locked content
which are other way behind a purely playtime based wall for freetoplay

Nice game for free, uppdates, devs care about the game. >Compared to other games like h1z1 surv this is grate and people care about the game, on the forums if u ask people help you.

You can lvl 48 heroes to lvl 10 and after that 10-60 you need to take one, good thing is you can try all out before u diside who you like and for splinters you loot in the game you can buy more for them ore if u dont like grinding and are casual with limit of time you can always buy the the heroes for irl money.

You have alot of things when in comes too end game you are always busy with somting like avents bosses and testing new heroes out.

This is one of the few games i tryed out that are free from begining and still good and get you going forward with a smile.

Marvel Diablo - polished, fun in short bursts, with a huge lineup of characters to play. Freeplay model seems generous also.

Like most clicky-clicky-level-up-grab-the-loot ARPGs it is shallow and repetitive, but that's a flaw in the genre rather than this game.
