In order to forget the war in the real world,
you should go with three other friends for a little exploring
in the world of the worms.
Between joy and pain, maybe you will hate your friend, but
even if you lose, will you have a lot of fun playing this game. DEFINITELY!

Forget about the 3D Worms Games,
this is best Worms game that I ever played! [imo]

I love the Worms franchise. They are party games that perfectly mix skill and luck, and do it with such flair that even if you're coming dead last, you never really stop having fun with all the crazy weapons and situations that arise.

Worms - Reloaded is I believe the "newest" iteration of this franchise, and I have to say that it isn't really the best... at least in terms of actually being a fun party game to play with friends.

Lets go back a decade or so to the playstation one, the good old PSX. Worms World Party had just been released, and it was the most fun I could ask for on a disk-based entertainment system. Sure, the previous iteration "Worms Armageddon" had a fantastic campaign, awesome music, HILARIOUS cutscenes, but as a party game it immediately loses out because A NEW GAME HAS NOTHING UNLOCKED! No weapons, no cool teams, nothing. Just the most basic weapons and voice packs. World Party has everything unlocked from the very beginning, and that made it perfect. He stuck that mother in at a party and went to town on each other's worms.

This is not a reason to hate on a game. Some people enjoy there being some challenge and unlockables to collect so you have a reason to play. Smash brothers brawl did this and was a huge hit... would the game have been better if everything was unlocked from the very beginning? Well... I think it would have, but it isn't my place to say.

Worms reloaded is the exact same game you played ten years ago. It is exactly the same. Same graphics, same voice packs, same weapons (with a few new ones). We opened this game up to play at a LAN a few days ago, and were immediately disappointed to see that the concrete donkey, the holy hand grenade and the banana bomb were all disabled. Guitar hero learned after it's third iteration that players want everything available at the start, as gamers we no longer valued achievement over fun, we wanted to be able to put in a game and do everything that game allowed us to do. People still say guitar hero 3 was the apex before the series' downfall, thanks to it catering to the 'casuals' of the world. I disagree completely. Like it or not, casual gaming is here, and in many ways, it is better. Worms Reloaded is a brilliant casual party game, but it is nostalgia blind, catering to the completionists and achievement hunters of the world, which takes away from it, somewhat... but once again, that comes down to personal interpretation.

I still reccommend this game, but if you're at a LAN and someone can emulate old playstation one games... World Party is still better.

No multiplayer between PC & MAC or Linux. Which wouldn't be a huge deal if they told you that anywhere on the store page.

Just like the classic Worms! It's in 2D, none of this 3D revamped marlarkey. Would recommend.

Worms in 2D is back!
In this game Team17 goes back to his roots. The game bring to you the classic 2D sideview jump 'n shoot fun game. I think it was a good decision to go back to 2D, even if I liked Worms Mayhem (which was the last Worms in 3D) a lot, it's quite the best solution if you like to play a fast game against friends. After 2min you have assemble your own team if you didn't like to take a preassembled one. The controls are quite the same as in all the old Worms versions. Click the right mouse button to choose your weapon, aim with the arrow keys, and then hold the spacebar as long as you need, to determine the right amount of power. All the old weapons, as Bazooka, Grenade, Baseball bat, donkey etc. and even some new ones are aviable to bring you the full mass of destruction on your screen.
If you liked one of the old 2D Worms game, I totallly recommend this game, and say this one is a "Must have".

It's less funny than Worms Armageddon... And there are many DLC's, that's annoying

A very good game. I liked Worms better like this before it went full 3D on a 2D plane in Worms Revolution. Lots of weapons to choose from.

7/10

Pros:
- Can play up to 4 players on the same computer/laptop.
- Has alot of content, most of which is customizable.
- Fun simple gameplay.
- Is a 'real' release (Little or no bugs). ++

Cons:
- Requires unlocking of content used in multiplayer, either through gameplay or microtransactions. --
- Clicking through the menu's can be a little tiresome sometimes
- Using custom audio from outside of the game is a pain/not user friendly.

This game would rate higher if not for one thing: The locked content/microtransactions. On an older game like this one, it should be removed.

Fun as sh!t, like most Worms games. However, online is sometimes buggy and not many people play. But still, you can play local with your friends or against bots and that's entertaining enough.

Tons of fun if you have friends to play with. Every time I have someone over, I make sure we play a couple solid games. Now, if you don't have friends to play with, it proves slightly more boring, and tedious to find a match sometimes.

Playing Worms Reloaded made me feel like I just opened a time capsule from 10 years ago. It shows that even such a simple game of worm warfare, can stand the test of time, and still be as entertaining as it once was.

Worms. It's a classic. It's been done, and re-done, and imitated.
Reloaded is the real deal, though - a modern interpretation of World Party (from the DOS era, for those who know).

That being said, there are some significant issues. There are Mac and Linux ports, but don't fool yourself - you can ONLY play with people who run the same OS as you. Yes, there are "work arounds" (if we're being honest, they're more like extreme measures) such as WINE and multi-booting. I'm told also that the DLC doesn't work on the Mac and Linux ports (at best) and may even cause the game to simply fail to run (at worst).

This, combined with the apparently laissez-faire attitude of the dev team (which extends to the newer issuance in the series as well, it seems), makes this game (and other T17 post-1990s releases) a poor choice for your wallet-votes.
