Patch 1.0.125 - Save & Continue

It took us a while but we found the bug that affected the Save & Continue feature. Now it should support all quests.
If you leave the game from a the map menu, you will be able to continue playing later from that point.

Other:

- We also tweaked the higher difficulty settings to make em a bit more forgiving. We would like to hear from players about these higher difficulty settings. Are they too hard right now?

- Translations updated with latest revisions by the community (thanks everybody!).

New patch: Progress saved in between levels and other minor fixes

Hi everyone,
We are releasing a patch (1.0.123) with some tweaks and technical improvements.

As some of you requested, we added the option to leave the game in between levels. So now if you need to stop playing for any reason you will be able to come back later and continue from where you left.

A new option will appear on the main menu to "continue" the game.

- 2nd controller can join a game at any time. No need to start a new game.

- Fixed an online achievement that was not being completed.

We are still working on the console version of the game. It has been a lot of work but now we are making a lot of progress! Should be out in no time.

Thanks!

“Full Mojo Rampage could be the next great rogue-like. I had the privilege to play a few hours with the alpha version and came away, for the most part, pleased. The game plays very similar to a more expansive version of Binding of Isaac, but instead of using a keyboard to shoot projectiles, players utilize a mouse. The magic shooting feels very smooth and intuitive. The pace of the combat is fairly fast and, at times, can turn into a bullet hell very quickly.”
HardcoreGamer

“Its already really solid, its got a lot of good content even tough its only in alpha...”
Total Biscuit - The Cynical Brit

“The alpha is surprisingly polished, mostly lacking in content and minor tweaks. Over The Top Games may have a top quality AAA indie title growing in their offices.”

About This Game

Full Mojo Rampage is a rogue-like game that takes place within the confines of the Voodoo reality. In this realm only the most powerful rites and powers can provide a safeguard against evil. Dying is not the end, only the beginning to becoming a stronger voodoo soul!

The game includes several multiplayer cooperative and competitive modes to play with friends.

Key Features

  • Randomly-generated items and levels in beautiful 3D. Not two playthroughs will be the same.
  • Improve your character by leveling up and unlocking voodoo pins that you can use and upgrade to receive special bonuses.
  • Online Co-op: Up to 4 players can play together each campaign.
  • Multiplayer VS modes: Play online with up to 8 players in fiersome battles. (Current modes available: deathmatch, team deathmatch, Capture the Flag, King of Mojo). Level up and customize your character to show your friends who is the best!
  • Tons of items and unlockables: masks, pins, mojos and power-ups.
  • Unique “class” system that revolves around choosing a voodoo god each with their own special powers and attributes.
  • Music composed by Alistar Lindsay (Prison Architect).
  • Several easter eggs from our favorite games!

    The Quests

    • When you start a new game you can select which quest you want to do. Each quest has a different story, goal and setting. The quest map and each individual level is randomly generated, so you can replay the game and be challenged each time.
    • Quests include: campaign quests, daily quest, survival and survival unlimited.

    Customizing Your Character

    • After choosing a quest you will be able to customize your character.
    • In this screen you can choose a mask, a parent god and the voodoo pins you want to carry. In one of the last updates we added "Blessings" as an extra expensive buff for the current quest you want to play.
    • Each god has a set of spells that define how you play the game. There are 8 voodoo Loa you can unlock.
    • Voodoo Pins are very important. They provide unique bonuses that will help you in the game. At the beginning you wont have any pins unlocked, but by playing you will unlock them and with the gained gold you can upgrade them. The number of pins you can select at the same time will increase as you progress in the adventure.
    • In this menu you can also level up your character once you have enough experience. Experience is gained by exploring, progressing through the levels and doing events.

    The Dungeon Map

    • The dungeon map is randomly generated. The icons represent cemeteries, swamps, bosses, events, vendors and shrines.
    • There are many events that are quite fun and have some surprises, so make sure to visit all the "?" icons as those are special challenges for your current game.

    Gameplay

    • Each level is randomly generated with enemies and secrets.
    • In future updates we plan to add some crafting or mixing options to customize your items.
    • Levels have doors to vendors, god shrines and mixing rooms: the more you explore the more prepared you are for the dungeons!
    • In this world death is around every corner, though do not fret! Dying is not an end, and rather only a means of becoming a stronger voodoo soul! Being a practitioner of voodoo has nourished your soul with immortality. As such, any gold and experience you earn will persist with your character through death itself. Use this gold and experience earned to buy new pins and the favor of Loa to progress through even harder challenges!

This is what I wanted from Binding of Issac: Rebirth

♥♥♥♥ing
Co-op
Dungeon crawler

Well paced, sort of well balanced, there are plenty of interesting items, and again, there... is.... co-op....
Thankyou.

Standard Game Rating
  • Story: X/10 (Gods are doing stuff and whatnot... wasn't paying attention, didn't have to. wanted to play co-op dungeon crawler with friends.)
  • Gameplay: 10/10 (Items, sticks and things to use and decide on. what more could you ask out of a game like this.)
  • Presentation: 9/10 (Game looks pretty ♥♥♥♥ing great, it has a 3-d overview look and the game runs smoothly, and its smooth, and everything works together.)
  • Soundtrack: 9/10 (It fit, it was great. Not complaining.)
  • Replayability: 7/10 (I want to play this with friends however if someone doesn't play with you for one or 2 goes they feel underpowered until we all reach level cap. Kind of takes away from it, also there's a lack of people to play with.)

"While not quite as frantic as Super Smash TV, Full Mojo Rampage’s Roguelite features help prolong its expected gameplay length as there are only four quests to undertake. The most egregious issue however, is the general lack of an online community in a game that would have heavily benefited from it, made even worse by an incomplete local co-op option. With that said Full Mojo Rampage’s single player portion is a lot of fun as you explore each stage extensively for new and better loot."

Fantastic Rougelike. It hits a very nice balance between giving out power-ups and being punishing to just a few errors. The timers between deaths needs to be sped up like crazy, but other than that I really dig it.

The art and soundtrack are charming, but the gameplay suffers from being forced to repeat earlier missions over and over to improve your global character level. Otherwise, you'll find yourself being one-shot by an enemy who looks like a normal critter, on the second campaign level. Even the multiplayer couldn't save it with its "anything is fun with friends" factor. The leveling system also means that if somebody has played more or less hours than another, the parity between player's powers becomes a serious problem.

Just not what I was looking for, and I can't recommend it to anyone who is expecting a more traditional rough-lick.

You can have different masks, you can have different pins to become better at something.

I observed this game for a long time before buying it and after buying all i could think of, was the time lost waiting.

This game is damn legit. It reminds of Alien swarm. Top view action rpgish, where you choose a character from a couple unique 1s (you gota unlock them by playing a bit with the basic one) and build him via items and equips.

Its in this new genre, where you play untill you die so you can upgrade and start stronger. (rogue legacy, ftl, magicite, etc(its easier than those games))

You have only a few buttons to press but in no way do you feel lacking or without options. Its actually really well made. Characters are unique and eventhough upgrades and levels seem small (in fractions) they add up really fast, taking into account the style of play.

Its original, lore wise (pretty cool and well researched voodoo background (though turned into something cheerful and funny lol))

Its well made, responsive and intense. Levels are interesting and fit accordingly with whats expected from the player.

its a 8/10 for sure. Definetly a game worth its price and garanteed action. For those who enjoyed alien swarm, dungeon siege or other similar titles, this game is a must.

I really like this game, it's super fun to play with friends, even when you keep dying and have to do it all over again. There are always random items to make your journey slightly different and fair. I haven't had any kind of issues, so I definitely recommend it.

This is a great game. I have gotten a bit tired of it but for the price it is a deal. I purchased as a part ofthe Humble Bundle. About 30 hours in it gets a bit stale but always fun to come back to.

Great game. Super fun and simple with progresion.
+ You will spend at least 20 hours before you running out of things to do.
+ It is a dungeon crawler with random generated stages.
+ Difficult is fair. Not too hard, but neither easy. Just fair.
+ Pretty eye-candy graphics.
+ Amazing soundtrack.
+ Good mechanics gameplay

This is a game that doesn't seem to catch the eye at first. But when you actually play it, every doubt you have about it disappears. It's a lot like Binding of Issac only with an open world feel to it. There are challenges with every few steps you take. Each storyline level gets harder everytime you beat it, you could call it borderline chaos. You level up your character to increase stats like health, damage, and attack rate to help you along your journey. Different weapons can be obtained, different helpers, and these amazing little gifts known as blessings.

This is also a great game to play with friends because as the levels get harder, you're going to need all the help you can get. When you die you start over but you keep all the experience you gained which is a nice little feature. I give this a 9/10

Very good and beautiful game.

The gameplay is slower (and easier) compared to similar titles like Nuclear Throne or Risk of Rain, but you can permanently upgrade your skills with gold and XP. There are a lot of objects, pins and masks to collect. So you find yourself playing and playing to improve your character build, unlock new skills and find new stuff.

Maybe I would change the way the inventory and loot works, as you have all your inventory slots full pretty fast in each game and keep constantly receiving new items that you can't pick anymore and is a bit frustrating. Risk of Rain doesn't have item limit and feels better.

The online works lika a charm and the multiplayer is fun, there are 4 quests with 3 levels of difficulty (that are designed to be completed in sequence), daily missions, pvp...

I totally recommend the game.

7/10.
An entertaining Rogue-like random loot generator, which rewards finesse and punishes losing concentration.

Best when played with friends.

[ + ]
  • The rogue-like nature of this game is satisfying, and the item drops are gratifying.
  • The developers really honed in on players' psychological desire to collect MORE SHINY LOOOT! Each time you started a new quest, or restarted that quest, your inventory was wiped completely clean, so you had the pleasure of putting together another collection of items and powerups.
  • There were enough character customisation options before you even started search for the loot.
  • Good variety of enemies and mechanics.
[ - ]
  • Getting strong gear was too important, in order to win. Too dependent on drops
  • Pre-dungeon load out was inadequate in overcoming bad luck on item drops. Lack of control
  • Campaign is not long enough. (After 10+ hours theres nothing to do but survival waves)
  • For a game that bases its appeal around getting cool loot, it would have been much more satisfying to get to keep some of that loot.

I'm told that this is no longer being updated, but my recommendation to the developers would be make this game a more solid playing experience; by reducing the item dependency. I would suggest to drop the item stats by around 30%, and make it so that you can take 1 or 2 relics with you on to the next quest. It's so hard to part with my shiny loot, especially when I know that I could go two maps without finding anything in the next quest
