One of the most beautiful games ever made. If you're coming back to it like me and have a half decent GPU, even if you have a 1080p monitor, set resolution to 1440p in the launcher, the game looks incredible!

I played this when it first came out and was taken aback by almost every aspect:

- The awe inspiring scereny (the fantasy lighting, environment animations, tiny trinket details, surprising consistency of quality and variance)
- The melancholy but completely appropriate music and immersive sound design
- The incredibly emotive and heatfelt story
- Controls that are inspired, fun, and challenging

An unforgettable experience that made me want to tell everyone to play it when I first got it.

Brothers, A tale of two sons is a beautiful, well thought and moving game. The game is so amazing that we even created a special prologue for it.

The amazing thing about the game is about the journey, it's about who you meet, who you helped, the interesting characters and your interaction with them. The game story reels you in with pure emotion and mastery of storytelling, as all the dialogue is in a fictional language. Beautiful graphics. The game plays with one controller the right stick and light stick controls each brother (imagine the coordination!) and you solve puzzles.

How we played: each of us controlled one stick and we co-operate and communicate. Because of we played it as a 2 player game, the entire experience has been amplifed - because we (both players) became connected and tried to help each other and bonded. (creating a story in itself!)

If you played all the way to the end, there's a special gameplay control thing (you'll have to play it for yourself), and it just blow up our emotions. This game made us laugh and cry so hard, we want more of it. A must play.

One of the most important purposes of gaming is to have a great experience in it. Each moment of this game, when the brothers interact with the people and ambient made me think and imagine their spirit and differences between them, made me "create" a story behind that. The tale begins in a simple way, but it develops in a certain way that made it really atmospheric. The wonderful soundtrack and artwork behind it helps quite a lot. To be honest, It also made me think about me and my brother when we were kids, and this made the game even more immersive (if you have a brother, play this game). Indeed, the artwork, soundtrack, great story, and immersive "rating" gave a me a excelent experience.

A short, but beautiful story. So much detail has been put into this master-piece.
Well worth the price, if you want to torture yourself with heart-wrenchingly deep moments - buy this game. It is art, I haven't cried so emotionally from a game in years.

[Spoiler tags are actual spoilers]

It didn't hit me when he died.

It didn't hit me when it made me bury him.

It hit me when it made me take his controls.

You will likely never get used to how this game controls, but I didn\'t realize just how strongly something so simple as keybindings could support a narrative.

There is and will never be a platformer as emotionally devastating as Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Truly, it is a remarkable experience that won't hit you where it hurts until it needs to.

● Superb storytelling.
● Lovely visuals.
● Simple but interesting puzzles.
● Subtle but pleasant soundtrack.
● And perhaps most importantly: innovative gameplay mechanic which ties the controls to the narrative.

I proclaimed this my game of the year in 2013 when I played it on console and replaying it on PC now I would still rank it highly among my video game favourites. Such a unique, spectacular game.

I have bought the game maybe two years ago, when I read good reviews about it and when it went on sale on steam. I have just played it on my new lenovo gaming laptop. I am only mentioning this because I thought the visuals were gorgeous, and it deserve to be played on a good PC. (Mine comes with Nvidia 960)
I was amazed by the story and emotions involved in the game. It might not be very obvious at the beginning of the game, but trust me it surprisingly gets epic. Although the game has no narrator nor it uses a known language, it communicates the story very fluently through the scenes. I want to say more but I think I might run into spoiling the story for the reader.
I highly advise buying and playing this game. I also highly recommend playing it with a joypad. I first played it with a keyboard and I almost gave up on it. It was really confusing to play on a keyboard and I couldn’t control the players properly. The puzzles seem to be more enjoyable when played with a joypad, and it seems that the way the creators intended it to be.
If I ever want to criticize anything about the game, it would be that I wanted to have more puzzles and a little more complication to come with them.
Final verdict:
9.5

A beautiful, moving story woven into a masterful piece of artwork. The gameplay mechanics are creative and fun to play, once you get the hang of it. The lack of tutorials might be bothersome in the beginning, but makes the game much more immersive till the end. The soundtrack is illuminating as well. Has some replayability value too, though they could've included some more achievements. A must have in your library!

A fantastic novella-length adventure game, in which the clever gameplay is ultimately just a question of unfolding the story rather than an end in itself. I often dislike games of the scripted, on-rails type, but this one is perfectly paced and uniquely immersive. It lacks the courage and follow-through of what I assume must be its inspiration in Lindgren's "Brothers Lionheart", and because it is mute it is more abstract and like a fable, but as far as narratives in games go, this is 10/10.

A work of extraordinary beauty and imagination. The epic story, gorgeous world and poignant moments more than excuse a few wonky puzzles.

Amazing story, good controls that tie in to the narrative. A short yet enjoyable game.
Note: A controller is required for the best experience.
