It's a great game. Getting use to controlling two characters at the same time is tricky at first, but you get the hang of it (somewhat). Visuals are great, though I would have prefered the ability to move the camera more than allowed. Personally, the game is very short and probably not worth the $15 they are asking. I'd wait til it's on sale and grab got. Got my copy for $3 - and it's certainly worth that much and a little more for a few hours of entertainment.

This game is made by a film director and you can tell by playing it. It is made like a movie, from the beautiful art and music to the puzzles, even how the camera rotates around the characters. But the story is a little diffrent, there isn't any talking except in a diffrent language so you have to watch their over excecive body language. So the story is simple but it is still very well written. One of the game's flaws is it's puzzles, while they are fun to do they are way to easy. And the talking they don't say very much and repete a lot so it gets annoing after a while. I did run into some buggs where I couldn't go on because of them, but to fix them you just go back to the last check point or restart the chapter which was very annoying, it happened twice to me. Overall this is one of my favorites and deffinatly worth checking out.

Brothers is a unique adventure game about two siblings working together to help their family.

What immediately sets this game apart is the control scheme: the thumbsticks of your gamepad each control a different brother. While this is confusing at first, the game does well to ease players in and fully uses this concept in gameplay and narrative. Its beautiful fantasy world is also a strong point.

Be sure to check out this short but sweet game if you are a fan of adventure games and unique mechanics.

I honestly recommand this game for everyone. The music and the art was absolutely amazing, and the story just blew my mind. If this one doesn't make you want to sniffle a bit, you're clearly not human.

Loved the game! The story was creative, fully immersive, imaginative, and interlaced with heart, action and story twists in all the right places. The directing and cinematography was as good as the best that cinema has to offer.

Would definitely recommend the game and glad a good friend did the same for me.

Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons is an Action Adventure game set in a fantasy world.

You're Naiee and Naia, two brothers whose father is dying. After taking him with the village’s doctor, he says the only cure lies in the waters of the Tree of Life, then, Naiee and Naia embark on a journey to the tree, hoping to save their father, but the world is huge and dangerous, beautiful and dark.

Words don't do it justice, I've played many games over the years, but nothing like this, something not only enjoyable, but also soul touching. Here, you’ll forget about everything, while drowning in a beautiful story, worth every praise it has already gotten.

Amazing story, good controls that tie in to the narrative. A short yet enjoyable game.
Note: A controller is required for the best experience.

this is a beautiful short game that's pieced together admirably, and it's one that i've become enamored with ♥

it's certain that the story itself is the pillar of this game's foundation while puzzle-solving stands as an inferior element. i personally didn't find that to be an issue since i'm not opposed to a non-challenging game as long as it still has its merits, which in this case, it does. although the playthrough (generally between two to six hours) is quite momentary, the wonderful quality makes it worthwhile.

i was pleased by the unique, simple-to-grasp gameplay and non-complex obstacles that merged flawlessly with the story's fluidity. each transition was a passage full of adventure-- i found delight in being met with lovely little surprises like riding mountain goats and sailing on a sky glider. i'd also pace my course throughout the scenic journey so i could appreciate the landscape encompassed by an enchanting ambience. as for the brothers, they were personable characters with a charm suitable for the heartfelt story. my fondness towards them progressed alongside the heroic tale, and with that, so did my devotion to their valorous pursuit. inevitably, this endearing story steadily tugged at my heartstrings until i fell in love with the entirety of it.

This game was a short but marvelous and breath-taking adventure that immersed me immensely in the short amount of play-time.
Story: 10/10
Controls (Steam Controller): 9/10
Audio: 9/10
Soundtracks: 10/10
Immersion: 9/10

[While I do recommend this game, I will have to agree with the negative reviews concerning the price for an approximately 2-3 hour long game. Also speaking about negative reviews I would recommend not reading them since they are mostly complaints about controls not being so great (somehow?), story not explaining everything to them (since they seem to lack creativity or an inability to think on their own), and finally complaints about the characters not speaking a real language.] Back to the matter at hand though, I recommend this game (especially to those with a sibling(s)) because, the story, which was and is the focus of this game, was fantastic and really provoked various emotions within me the entire way through, along with the controls contributing quite a bit to the immersion of the game (especially for me since I was on a Steam Controller) and also the beautiful and gruesome sceneries adding even more immersion, in the end I completed this game fully satisfied with finishing it and I would definitely come back to replay it.

A beautiful game with a story line fit for a movie. It is truely an amazing tale of the unfairness of life and how two brothers over came them . Everything is a gamble in life and this game shows that no outcome is truely without consequence.

The graphics are creative and diverse, from mountain tops, to tree forests, to the depths of caves and water. This game brings to life an epic journey through its amazing artwork. Lastly the sound (music and voices) are not overly done, by being subtle in the background. This lets the visuals shine and be the true show case of the story telling.

I highly recommend this game for its amazing ability to tell a story of life, with it's realism and understanding, without becoming predictable or boring. Congratulations to the developers and I wish more games were this memorable and immersive!

I give this 5 out of 5 Beers!

Cheers,
Frost

Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons is often named as one of the best example of games that use the tools proper of the video game medium in a way that no other does.

The main "gimmick" of the game is the fact that you control the titular two brothers at once, using one analog control stick and one "action" button for each.
This mechanic, alien at first, quickly becomes second nature, letting you fully enjoy your travels through beautiful scenery following the brothers on a quest to find a cure for their dying father.

Talking about storytelling, that's another way Brothers sets itself apart from most other games, as the simple, fable-like story is told using gameplay and rare in-engine cutscenes.

You find out the personality and quirks of each brother by the way they interact with each other and with the people and creatures they encounter during the journey. You understand the power of their brotherly bond by the way they help each other out solving puzzles or getting out of difficult situations. All of this without ever having to read or hear a single word.

I would 100% recommend Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons if it wasn't already clear enough, as the way the game marries its storytelling to its mechanics is truly fascinating and definitely worth the 2 to 4 hours needed to complete it.

This game is very short, but damn it is worth playing. The world is beautiful and the story is simple and touching in many ways. I got this game for 1,49€ on summer sale, and dammit if it wasn't the best 1,49€ I've spent on Steam.

I'm not sure I would have bought it for full price considering the time it took to beat it, but if it's on sale just buy it!
