*sigh* This game used to be so good...

Before Jagex took the reigns of Ace of Spades, it used to be a fun, minecraft-esque shooter that grabbed the best elements out of both the games/genres, but then Jagex took over, after messing around with the fundamental aspects of the game, Jagex introduced paid DLC and reduced the amoutnt of servers until there was but 1 Australian server. This has since been increased to about 13 but the servers are hosted overseas, leaving them with so much ping they are near unplayable.

This game /used/ to be good, but since Jagex took over, it turned into a pile of ♥♥♥♥.

Thanks Jagex.

I really enjoyed this game, until they recently decided to focus on rewarding bad behaviour. They now encourage griefing and abuse, providing achievements for such actions. Do not buy Jagex products until they reconsider this ill advised approach. I've uninstalled my copy. I'll check out Guncraft in hopes it has taken a better approach.

An unbelievable amount of extra time had to be put in to even make this game playable. After years of playing Runescape, I should have seen that this was a Jagex game and that would have made me not waste my money on it. JAGEX IS BAD. There's nothing else to it. Jagex can't host good servers. This type of a game is unfinished and has many flaws (easy spawn camping, constant lag spikes, ability to teamkill whenever you want, etc.) It is a good concept, but Jagex lacks the proper knowledge on how to initiate such a game. I wish this was made by someone else.

I loved the original. My friends and I had tons of fun playing the original (FYI can still be played online if you look hard enough.) When I heard Jagex... JAGEX! bought the rights off the original dev, I was worried. And then I see what they did to the game, i just couldn't believe it.They ruined the fun tactical gameplay we used to have, and replaced it with this piece of crap. They put in jetpacks and miniguns and made it this generic over the top game, ruining the whole concept of the original. Don't even look at this game, or any game developed by Jagex.

EDIT: I would also like to say there are not as many lag issues now as there were at launch, and votekick has been improved. It's sad how they took so long to fix these issues.

EDIT 2: They added a 'classic' mode aswell. It is similar to the original beta, but still not as fun. No one plays it, and the amazing maps and large scale battles are not to be found here. It's a nice addition, but is still not worth buying if you were looking for something even remotely similar to what the original offered.

really unbalanced and lacking in teamwork.
It was decently fun intill jagex took over and took away most of the weapons (yet they kept the overpowered as heck double barreled shotgun) and nerfed the marksman by giving him a huge "please shoot me" laser sight.
I was very hopeful for this game as It was a fun idea but unfortunently very badly implemented.
