SourceMod will get patched up on release by the SM team when the patch is public

If you have any problems, email support@nmrih.com

Patch 1.09.4 is out!

Hey guys,

It took considerably longer than expected, but patch 1.09.4 is now available to the public build of NMRiH. Thanks to the help from the community volunteers at the NMRiH Beta Survivors steam group, we've spent the past few weeks ensuring that the Beta Branch was stable as it can be.

The changelog is listed below in the following link. You'll have to wait for our community servers to get updated by their respective owners.

Link to Changelog

Patch 1.09.4 introduces a multitude of much needed fixes and various gameplay tweaks; some of which were requested by the community. In particular it introduces:

  • Improved zombie hit detection: We spent a lot of time tweaking our zombie hitboxes, and feel that we've fixed a good deal of complaints related to them.
  • Hit reactions: Zombies will now give body flinches if you shoot or hit them
  • Crawling zombies: It's a new zombie type, and they can catch you off guard if you aren't careful.
  • Selective Fire: You can now change your weapon's fire rate (semi/auto/burst)
  • Weapon variants: Patch 1.09.4 introduces a Ruger 10/22 with extended magazines, and an M16A4 with Carry Handle. We're planning on introducing weapons with different modifications in future updates
  • Nightmare Mode: If you want the full details, check the changelog out, but it's a new difficulty mode designed for our more hardcore players.

Patch 1.09.4 also introduces a lot of map fixes and general code fixes on issues that were submitted by community members, and we're greatly thankful for the help and feedback given to us during our Beta Branch phase. Patch 1.09.4 has provided a stable framework for us to release Patch 1.10 on. Speaking of which...

Why we took so long...

Back when I announced Patch 1.10 and the sort of content it would introduce in November 2014, things were looking good. Development progress was on track, and morale within the team was high. By late December we all took a much needed break and when the new year started, we were ready to jump back into development. We ended on a high note, and figured 2015 would be just as good for us.

Unfortunately the exact opposite occured, and most of us were hit with various hardships that stacked up over time. It's difficult working on a free modification when you're fired from your day job, or if you're busy grieving over a death of a loved one.

With that in mind, we're still committed to releasing updates to our game; it'll just take some additional time to get them done. I apologize for the lack of updates in 2015, and I'm sorry that it took this long to get Patch 1.09.4 out.

Steam Beta Branch coming live for Patch 1.09.4, read for details on how to test

Hello,

We've just made patch 1.09.4 live under a separate branch of the game. You can test it out and report bugs and feedback by joining our new Beta Branch steam group. The details on how to download it are listed in the Group forums.

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/nmrihbs

Note: You MUST join the beta group in order to view and join the beta build!

An ongoing changelog is listed here but in particular Patch 1.09.4 should have drastically improved hit detection, and a stable Mac build.

We'll have some servers up under this Beta Branch, and users who want to ensure that our Patch is stable can test it out. Keep in mind that by opting into the Beta Branch, you'll be unable to join servers running under 1.09.3

About This Game

"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth."

A tribute to the highly acclaimed film series in which the above quote originated from, No More Room in Hell (PC Gamer's Mod of the Year 2011, ModDB's Editor Choice Multiplayer Mod of the Year 2011), is a co-operative realistic first person survival horror modification for the Source Engine. Taking inspiration from George Romero's "Of the Dead" series, the mod is set during a time in which the world is on the verge of collapsing into chaos from a disease whose origin is unknown. Many experts and organizations have their theories and ideas on how such a disease emerged and started to systematically destroy our very way of life, but one fact is clear to all. Whoever perishes from the disease gets up and kills, and the people they killed get up and kill.

The chances of you surviving this all out war of society and the undead are slim to none. Already, there are millions of the walking dead shambling about, searching for food to eat. There's no known cure. One bite can possibly end it all for you. However, you aren't alone in this nightmare. There are still a handful of uninfected survivors left in this god forsaken hellhole, and with co-operation and teamwork, you may live long enough to fight your way to salvation.

Features:

  • Teamwork: Co-operative play with up to eight players.
  • Voice and Text Communications Limited by Distance: The further you're away the harder it is for other players to hear you. Keep those walkie talkies close!
  • Dynamic Objective Maps: The next playthrough may not be the same as the last!
  • Survival Mode: Defend and maintain your shelter against the undead in the hopes of getting extracted to a safe area.
  • A Realistic Approach: In short, no crosshairs with limited "only when you want it" HUD. In addition, ammo and weapons are extremely scarce. With that in mind, aim down your sights and shoot for the head!
  • Multitude of Different Opponents: Ranging from the iconic "walking zombie" to the more contemporary "runners", NMRiH will keep you on your toes with a mix of dangerous foes to face down. However, the most dangerous enemy may not always be the walking dead...
  • Infection: One bite may be what it takes to bring you down. If infected, you must decide if you want to alert your team to rid you of your burden, or to keep quiet in the hopes of finding a cure...
  • 30+ weapons and counting, ranging from the diminutive .22 Target Pistol, to the almighty Chainsaw.
  • No pay to win items
  • No ads
  • 100% Free

Planned Features:

  • National Guard NPCs - Will they help you or see you as just another walker?
  • Full dismemberment - gibs for arms and legs instead of just the head
  • More gamemodes including a mode that mixes Survival with Objectives
  • New and varied zombie types - SWAT/Military zombies with body armor
  • More playable characters (including females)
  • Stat tracking along with Steam Achievements - With the possibility of unlockable items
  • More frequent updates with Steam support
  • More maps and overall content with Steam support
No More Room in Hell is a Half-Life 2 Zombification. The mod was founded in 2003. It switched hands and a new team took over in 2009. Beta version 1.0 was released on Halloween of 2011. No more room in hell takes a realistic approach to a zombie survival game. Survival; You work together with your teammates to survive until rescue comes. Objective; Work together to get out of the area.

Unlike Killing Floor or Left 4 Dead where you get guns with so much ammo, this game requires you to search the area to find the weapons you need. No unlimited ammo, everything matters. You're hanging by a thread, use up the ammo and you won't get through.

This game basically needs patience, but rewards you with the achievements and gets you good friends.

8.5/10 Will recommend.

I have spent more than 500+ hours in this game so do I recommend it? "YES, hell, YES!"- BUT PLAY IT WITH FRIEND !!!!!

The stuff i love about this game:
1) Well, first off it is completely free (everything in it).
2) It is unique and it tries to be as realistic as possible (unlike l4d for example)
3) It is unforgiving and yet very enjoyable (every mistake is punished but if you are doing well you feel like a boss!)
4) Brilliant animations (gun fire, reloadings, melee swings, healing animations, pill taking animations, suicide animations, ammo checking animations, )
5) Music (fits the game perfectly)
6) Maps (sewers, houses, ambandoned churches, large cities, narrow streets, grave yards, bridges and much more)
7) Constant updates and improvements!!!
+tons of other great things (kid zombies, realistic guns, weapon varieties, zombie traps in certain maps etc. etc. etc.)
-------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately, here are some cons:
1) Mentality of the players (sh!ttons of newbies, i mean thousands of them just wasting ammo and resources in wave1, then dying, and disconnecting- repeat)- I STRONGLY RECOMMEND grab a friend or two, show them how to play this game and enjoy it to the bits.

2) Hit detection can let you down...A LOT. (Yeah, the hit detection is terrible from time to time which means you can kill a zombie with one shot from colt1911 but sometimes you need more than 4 shots from the same gun. Luckily, after a little while you will learn how to deal with that)-> UPDATE: This will be solved in the upcoming update 1.9.4 !!! WOHOO

3) Infinite ammo servers (There is lots of them, they have destroyed the concept of the game completely, but on the other hand, there is still lots of vanilla servers with no modifications what-so-ever -> play there for maximum enjoyment)

4)Occasional crashes & tiny (1-2 secs) mysterious in-game freezes

So yeah...give it a try, you have nothing to loose ;-)

A 10/10 With friends. A 3/10 With other people.

As stated above, it's really fun to play with your friends, because it's a teamwork game, they won't let you down easily and the communication is real important too.
If you die in a campaign playing with other people you will have to wait around 10 or more of boring minutes before you can even play. (Not to mention you also have to wait when you just joined a server and waiting spectator mode) (So it goes like: Die, wait 10 minutes, restart, repeat.)
Whatever mode you are playing, weapons and ammunition will always spawn around you at the begin point and scattered throughout the map, not to mention, there is around 12 kinds of ammunition. What every round goes is like the following: people rush and take all the stuff they can, even if they have the wrong ammunition and gun, they will never share. (Some people don't even know how to drop it or use them!) Good luck there with your kitchen knife and a gun with no magazine. And guess what, melee needs real good momentum, and not everyone has that. People would die, turn into fast-agile like zombies which are really hard to deal with and most likely infect you and ruin your round.
Besides, if you play campaign. You could pretty much rush to the end point without killing any zombies.(Dodge and luring) But people just wants to kill them and eventually die by them.
If you play survival/defending with other people. They won't be defending sh*t, but run around and solo the zombies then die like a fool. (Zone's get overrun, gameover. Restart. Repeat.)
And did you know? In survival/defending there is only this limited ammunition and weapons throughout the map. The only way to get more is to find a flare gun and HOPEFULLY finding flare gun ammo for the flare gun and fire it into the sky. Around 15 seconds later a helicopter will drop a huge ♥♥♥ supply crate and there will be tons of weapons including flare gun ammo. But that is only if you manage to both get the FLARE GUN and the FLAREGUN AMMO. Which most likely other people would have already taken it for themselves at the start of the game and not going to share.
You can't complete any campaign (Unless you are a skilled player and carry all their asses and survival/defending (Which has a 0% of winning even if you carry them so damn hard)

Summary:

Playing on public servers:
They are wasting a lot of time in your life.
30% of the people are kids that doesn't know how to properly play this game
60% Are greedy people including kids that never shares and never chats
5% Delays the game as long as they can by being a dumbo (There is no time limit at all... Yes..)
5% People are actually nice, which is rare. So if you ever meet one, I suggest to add them.

So get your 3 or more friends on skype/teamspeak/ventrilo, join an empty server with as less capacity as there could be to prevent people joining and screw everything up = Profit.
(Everyone is happy)

Only worth with friends. Trust me. You'll be remembering this review if you just join a random server.

Unmutual: we put sourcemod on our server
Unmutual: and whenever people join
Unmutual: we drug them and beat them with hammers
Unmutual: until they RQ

Now, I shouldn't really encourage this kind of behaviour but I can't help myself. This game is too fun... Best played with 7 of your closest friends.

You're in for a world of pain.

No More Room in Hell (NMRiH for short) is a zombie-survival game with intense themes. You can see blood, death, and despair everywhere. Body bags on the street, with crashed cars and stores that are boarded up. There's a few weapons left, and you plus up to 5 other survivors have to make it to an extraction point by doing many different objectives. One objective could be quick as hell. Another might take tons of minutes.

There are tons of zombies that are all really slow. It'll take a while before they'll get you, Barbara, but when they do, unless you're prepared you're pretty much dead. There are normal zombies, fast zombies, and child zombies. Normal are easy to kill, just hold down Mouse 1, release and then quickly press the V button (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! It pushes zombies back, and has saved my life A ♥♥♥♥ TON of times) and then do it again until they're dead. Fast zombies are the same as normal zombies, but they go faster and attack faster. Child zombies are quick too, but they can't bite you, only make you bleed. Melee weapons usually take two or three hits to the head, charged before they'll kill one zombie. If you just sway your weapon back and forth you'll find yourself either empty on stamina, or dead.

A gun is good, but they're not common and ammo for the right gun, YOUR gun, is even more rare. A Beretta 92 or a Glock 17 will take 2 hits to the head (Or 1 if you stand still for a while, this is called "Deadeye") but their ammo is common and they have a large capacity. A 1911 will only need 1 bullet to the head, but ammo for that is rare and so is the gun itself, and it's only got a capacity of 7+1, but it will bring a world of pain to the zombies. A revolver is handy but it's got a lot of recoil, 6 shots and rare as hell ammo. Then there's big guns, MAC-10, MP5, M16A4, CZ858, Shotguns and Sniper Rifles, all of which take a lot of inventory space and have rare ammo (Except for MAC-10 and MP5, who uses .45ACP and 9mm), and they're all rare too. What I'm trying to say here is that all you need is a pistol and a good melee weapon to survive.

Then there are survival maps, which are about you and your team bunkering down and trying to protect one, two or three areas at the same time. These maps are very intense, and your team has to survive some waves with limited supplies and a horde of zombies. Hammer and planks are going to be your best friend, since they can slow down the zombies, but not forever. And sometimes The National Guard will drop in supplies for you and your team. This can include melee weapons, guns & ammo, medical supplies and other useful and handy supplies.

However, do not download this game if you are easily scared, this is a pretty scary games with dark enviroments and scary enemies.

Honestly, this is a fairly realist zombie survival co-op game, theres other things I could tag it as but it'd be a pretty long list.

How the game is a objective based type of playthrough gives it a really good touch, gives it a reason to be a co-op game because with out friends, you're screwed over.

The game was good until the last update which totally ruined the game...
Every time now when all the noobs die they dont wait for spawn they just rage and restart level (new since last update) so you can only ever finish a map about 5%-10% of the time,
and they dont care if someone is still playing, this happens all the time.
Also the game is full of auto spawn levels now and unlimited ammo servers so the game is pointless you can spawn right at the end of a maps and complete the level.
I can't think of a worse update to any game ever! its a shame really it was a great game
if I was you I would give this game a miss

This game dosnt have great graphics, dosnt have plenty of special enemies and isnt fast as some of other games about zombies. Also its kinde "slow" because most of zombies dosnt run like in Left 4 Dead 2, but... But u wont have 150 for your pistol... If you have some luck u will find pistol with 10 bullets and in this game even 1 bullet can save u. And when u stand in fron of few slow zombies and slash thier heads with sledgehammer, when u move 1 step back after every slash u feel u r closer and closer to wall behind u. And closer to ur death... And u wish that none of "runners" r close or kids.. Cuz if kid find you aim for its head. If few kids find even if got gun u wanna run like never before without lookin back.
