About This Game

"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth."

A tribute to the highly acclaimed film series in which the above quote originated from, No More Room in Hell (PC Gamer's Mod of the Year 2011, ModDB's Editor Choice Multiplayer Mod of the Year 2011), is a co-operative realistic first person survival horror modification for the Source Engine. Taking inspiration from George Romero's "Of the Dead" series, the mod is set during a time in which the world is on the verge of collapsing into chaos from a disease whose origin is unknown. Many experts and organizations have their theories and ideas on how such a disease emerged and started to systematically destroy our very way of life, but one fact is clear to all. Whoever perishes from the disease gets up and kills, and the people they killed get up and kill.

The chances of you surviving this all out war of society and the undead are slim to none. Already, there are millions of the walking dead shambling about, searching for food to eat. There's no known cure. One bite can possibly end it all for you. However, you aren't alone in this nightmare. There are still a handful of uninfected survivors left in this god forsaken hellhole, and with co-operation and teamwork, you may live long enough to fight your way to salvation.

Features:

  • Teamwork: Co-operative play with up to eight players.
  • Voice and Text Communications Limited by Distance: The further you're away the harder it is for other players to hear you. Keep those walkie talkies close!
  • Dynamic Objective Maps: The next playthrough may not be the same as the last!
  • Survival Mode: Defend and maintain your shelter against the undead in the hopes of getting extracted to a safe area.
  • A Realistic Approach: In short, no crosshairs with limited "only when you want it" HUD. In addition, ammo and weapons are extremely scarce. With that in mind, aim down your sights and shoot for the head!
  • Multitude of Different Opponents: Ranging from the iconic "walking zombie" to the more contemporary "runners", NMRiH will keep you on your toes with a mix of dangerous foes to face down. However, the most dangerous enemy may not always be the walking dead...
  • Infection: One bite may be what it takes to bring you down. If infected, you must decide if you want to alert your team to rid you of your burden, or to keep quiet in the hopes of finding a cure...
  • 30+ weapons and counting, ranging from the diminutive .22 Target Pistol, to the almighty Chainsaw.
  • No pay to win items
  • No ads
  • 100% Free

Planned Features:

  • National Guard NPCs - Will they help you or see you as just another walker?
  • Full dismemberment - gibs for arms and legs instead of just the head
  • More gamemodes including a mode that mixes Survival with Objectives
  • New and varied zombie types - SWAT/Military zombies with body armor
  • More playable characters (including females)
  • Stat tracking along with Steam Achievements - With the possibility of unlockable items
  • More frequent updates with Steam support
  • More maps and overall content with Steam support
No More Room in Hell is a Half-Life 2 Zombification. The mod was founded in 2003. It switched hands and a new team took over in 2009. Beta version 1.0 was released on Halloween of 2011. IdeaThe idea is simply a zombie survival game to play with friends and strangers alike, as most steam games.
GraphicsPretty much as one would expect from a Source Engine game.
GameplayKinda fun gameplay that gets stale rather quickly.
Other A few features, such as the inventory system caught my eye, but for the most part everything was for the norm.
Rating 5/10

"so guys ive used all the ammo in this stockpile you guys made, is that ok?"
we flip out, cause he didn't even ask
start doing objectives with melee, which isn't that bad.. sledge all the way amirite?
we find out the kid is back at spawn flipping out, low health and infected
"guys wtf my screen is going veiny, GUYS this game sucks! im going back to cod after this round!"
me and fellow comrades look at each other
them and i get in chat, "hey kid, heres a tip, to heal yourself just press k to ready up medpack in your weapon"(he found a little more ammo before this)
this kid actually believes us
we then say, "ok click"

This is how I find out about this game:
I wanted to buy Left For Dead 2 but was going through budget issues, so I searched the internet about free-to-play games like Left For Dead and NMRIH was among the answers.

When I first started playing it, I started to get bored of it because if you lack skill in survival horror games, you will die a lot in this game and wait for long to respawn only to die again. And frankly this was my first survival horror game. I started playing on casual servers. Then after developing my skills, I started playing on classic.
Now, I got left for dead one and two for free because my brother have them and he shared his account with me. Surprisingly, the game that got me into NMRIH in the 1st place is no longer interesting for me because NMRIH is so much better. Yes, a free to play game that is not that famous is so much better than the famous purchasable Left 4 Dead series.

Why? Because this game makes everything feels real. Simply, in this game, you have to make decisions about how to make the best use of teamwork and the supplies you have. It is not a run and shoot game.

Additionally, mastering the game is challenging but can be frustrating. With friends, mastering the game is challenging and so much fun. Overall, friends make every game much better

This is one of the best zombie survival games I've played. Found guns, killed zombies, saved friend. Rinse and repeat 3x. Then, my friend dies. i get hit by a zombie, and start turning into a zombie. This was my friends 2nd time playing so he didn't know what i was about to do. I put the gun to my head and told my friend,"there's no other way". He told me "What?". I then shot myself. He was kinda horrified scince this was going on his youtube channel.

9/10 would suprise friend with suicide again

Very atmospheric zombie game, heavily inspired by George Romero's "of the Dead" movies. There are maps that resemble the "Night of the Living Dead" and the "Day of the Dead" movies, which is veeeery cool. You can even shoot yourself if you are infected!
