About This Game

"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth."

A tribute to the highly acclaimed film series in which the above quote originated from, No More Room in Hell (PC Gamer's Mod of the Year 2011, ModDB's Editor Choice Multiplayer Mod of the Year 2011), is a co-operative realistic first person survival horror modification for the Source Engine. Taking inspiration from George Romero's "Of the Dead" series, the mod is set during a time in which the world is on the verge of collapsing into chaos from a disease whose origin is unknown. Many experts and organizations have their theories and ideas on how such a disease emerged and started to systematically destroy our very way of life, but one fact is clear to all. Whoever perishes from the disease gets up and kills, and the people they killed get up and kill.

The chances of you surviving this all out war of society and the undead are slim to none. Already, there are millions of the walking dead shambling about, searching for food to eat. There's no known cure. One bite can possibly end it all for you. However, you aren't alone in this nightmare. There are still a handful of uninfected survivors left in this god forsaken hellhole, and with co-operation and teamwork, you may live long enough to fight your way to salvation.

Features:

  • Teamwork: Co-operative play with up to eight players.
  • Voice and Text Communications Limited by Distance: The further you're away the harder it is for other players to hear you. Keep those walkie talkies close!
  • Dynamic Objective Maps: The next playthrough may not be the same as the last!
  • Survival Mode: Defend and maintain your shelter against the undead in the hopes of getting extracted to a safe area.
  • A Realistic Approach: In short, no crosshairs with limited "only when you want it" HUD. In addition, ammo and weapons are extremely scarce. With that in mind, aim down your sights and shoot for the head!
  • Multitude of Different Opponents: Ranging from the iconic "walking zombie" to the more contemporary "runners", NMRiH will keep you on your toes with a mix of dangerous foes to face down. However, the most dangerous enemy may not always be the walking dead...
  • Infection: One bite may be what it takes to bring you down. If infected, you must decide if you want to alert your team to rid you of your burden, or to keep quiet in the hopes of finding a cure...
  • 30+ weapons and counting, ranging from the diminutive .22 Target Pistol, to the almighty Chainsaw.
  • No ads (on official and community official servers, user-hosted servers may vary)
  • No pay to win items or microtransactions
  • 100% Free (unless you buy the soundtrack DLC <3)

Planned Features:

  • National Guard NPCs - Will they help you or see you as just another walker?
  • More game modes including a mode that mixes Survival with Objectives, and a PvP deathmatch.
No More Room in Hell is a Half-Life 2 Zombification. The mod was founded in 2003. It switched hands and a new team took over in 2009. Beta version 1.0 was released on Halloween of 2011. A full list of the No More Room in Hell Team and contributors can be found on the about page of our website: www.nmrih.com.

When I play this game, two things can happen. Good match or bad match. A good match is where everyone cooperates. A bad match is...well ill show you an example.
I was holding one of the doorways, but the idiot that was supposed to help me, ran outside to get a weapon (idk what weapon) then he died and was extremely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at us not being dumb and not coming with him.

Other than that, YOU MUST PLAY THIS GAME

I dont know where im start. It's a very good game for a free game. But you must find 4-5 people who understand this "Survival zombie games" world. It's difficult then other zombie survival games. If you know survival games very well, its very funny game. It got few optimization problems but its FREE! Just find 4-5 people, download it and play. It worth your time.

A decent game as long as you follow the sacred commandments of the Jive.

1. Thou shall use the black man with an afro character model only (Jive).

2. Thou shall use the Cleric voice set only.

3. Thou shall kill all who refuse to submit to the Jive.

4. Thou shall refrain from murdering your fellow Jive brothers unless they go rogue and attack first.

5. Thou shall slay fake Jives who wear the Jive flesh, but chose not the angelic Cleric voice set. It is your duty to cull these traitors from the Jive population.

There is one exception to commandments 1, 2 and 3. The Jive deems those who choose the female character acceptable, but only if they spam voice commands, for it is their duty to enrich our lives with atrocious voice acting.

Everyone else must be executed, for they are no better than the undead that walk the earth. Show them no mercy lest true salvation shall be out of your reach, my brothers.

No More Room in Hell is without a doubt, a fun game. At the start you will keep dying and dying over and over again. But as you play longer, you grasp the basic mechanics of the game, such as to always shove after melee and to wait for focus when using the Beretta or the .22.

In the end, you come out like Rick Grimes. Everybody praises you for being the immortal badass. But a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. You need to be a good leader and tell people what to do, or they'll start falling like flies and in the end you'll be on your own. Without any help, you'll eventually become overrun and cornered as you beat their skulls in one by one to the ever respawning wave of zombies.

Another thing is the concept of sacrifice. It is possible for one person to hold back the horde to protect the group, at the cost of their own life. There is no other game I know of that has such realism. Games become only as dramatic as this.

That's not to say NMRIH has no flaws. NMRIH in itself is a very good game, but like many others, it has a horrible community. 10 years screaming into the mic. Griefers who sabotage the game. This flaw is not to be blamed on the devs, for they have no control over who plays their game.

10/10 would recreate the Alexandria horde slaughter scene again.

No More Room in Hell
It is a multiplayer co-op and survival mode game made on the Source engine set in a world dominated by zombies. The game has amazing climate and this is not a game where we murdered hordes of undead rather trying to avoid a fight and save ammunition on a worse moment. In the game you have to work together to perform further goals to escape from the area, however it is not that easy, every encounter with the undead may end up that this will result in bleeding or infecting. Unfortunately, the second symptom does not have too many medicines, the only thing that can help you antibiotics but they only help at some time or or you can commit suicide, so yeah in that game you can commit suicide. The game is considerable access to melee weapons and firearms, unfortunately worse with ammunition. It can be found weapons such as sniper and assault rifles, submachine guns, handguns and shotguns. As for the melee weapons it can be found knives, crowbars, axes and hammers, each of these weapons is characterized by light weight and handheld. Heavy weapons do more damage but it is less handy and takes a lot of stamina while light weapons are characterized by speed attacks but small damage and thats why most people are less likely to use light weapons because they are useless. They also thrown weapons like a grenades, TNT and molotov cocktails. The game more show us that this is a survival-horror than the typical FPS. Access to the flashlight is limited and they can not be used with two-handed weapons and most of the maps happen at night. The main source of light in a dark room is lighter however, it does not give us too much light. Officially, this is one of my favorites production about zombies, a great climate and sound system, nice graphics, lots of weapons and a large number of maps. and Each of these maps has a different mission objectives and goals after losing the game map can be changed to another goals. As for me, this is one of the best free games on Steam. I would recommend this production to anyone.

No more room in hell is a free zombie survival horror game.

This game is not just your average zombie survival game. Your character isn't immune, he isn't special. He is an civilian trying to survive, you can get infected and after some time you will turn into one of them, effectivly hindering your teammates or even catching them on suprise. And yes, you will die, a lot. Some of my friends get bored after one match and I can see why.

The game has got a rather big skill factor that you will see when you play the game more. It's very well made and it feels extremely rewarding to complete a rather hard map. But when you start you have mostly have no idea what to do. You will die, and die, and die again. It's boring to lose and lose again. But if you stick long enough you will see what you are capable off.

The main game has 2 modes, NMO and NMS, lets start with NMO.
NMO is a mode that is based around objectives, usally it's the left 4 dead style. Keep on moving until the end. But this game makes objectives random per game. On the same map you could be walking in a different section and doing different objectives then you did last time. Reducing repetitveness from this mode.
NMS on the other hand is more about defending Zones while searching for weapons and suplies as the waves come at you. This is possible to do solo but this mode will be A LOT more easy if you got a friend or more to help you out. I think this mode is harder then NMO because you are more dependend on your team. You can't just run away if everything fails. You got a zone to protect.

Now to the soundtrack in this game. It's a solid 10/10 for a free game and It is AMAZING. The soundtrack will fill you with despair, horror, but also hope when near the end. The soundtrack surely makes the atmosphere better by a big step.

tl;dr

This has to be one of the best free to play games here on steam. It feels very realistic and it's skill based. It has 2 modes which are both very fun to do and repetitveness is played out by placing different objectives on the same map. It's a must get and I recommend this to everyone that hasn't tried it out yet or didn't gave it a second chance.

I have racked up more hours in this F2P gem then many of my bought games, should give you an understanding of the game quality. Do you like Zombies? Do you like to kill yourself? Do you like to kill children?
If any of the above questions is yes then download this game right now!
