Is your PC ready for VR?

Our latest 3DMark update adds an interactive preview of VRMark, our upcoming virtual reality benchmark. In this preview, you can explore two VRMark test scenes with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. But don't worry if you don't have a headset. The preview works with your monitor too.

The VRMark preview is a taste of what to expect from the full release, coming soon. Scene 1 is designed for the Oculus Rift minimum spec. Scene 2 requires more powerful hardware. The preview does not produce a benchmark score. For more details about VRMark, please visit our website: http://www.futuremark.com/benchmarks/vrmark

The VRMark Preview is not available in the 3DMark demo.

About This Software

3DMark includes everything you need to benchmark your hardware. With eight individual benchmarks, you can test everything from tablets and notebooks to the latest 4K gaming PCs. It's the most powerful and flexible 3DMark we've ever created.

3DMark is for gamers, overclockers and system builders who want to get the most out of their hardware. When you buy 3DMark on Steam you unlock all tests, settings, and features.

  • Unlock the Fire Strike Ultra and Fire Strike Extreme benchmark tests.
  • Check the stability of your overclocks with benchmark looping.
  • Find your PC's performance limits with custom benchmark settings.
  • Get in-depth insights with hardware monitoring graphs.
  • Compare DirectX 12, Mantle and DirectX 11 with the API Overhead test.
  • Compete for the fastest PC on Steam with Steam leaderboards.
  • Easy to use, no technical know-how needed.

Benchmark Tests

Fire Strike - For high-performance gaming PCs
Fire Strike is a showcase DirectX 11 benchmark designed for today's high-performance gaming PCs. Use Fire Strike to test dedicated gaming PCs, Fire Strike Extreme for high-end systems with multiple GPUs (Crossfire/SLI), or try Fire Strike Ultra, the world's first 4K Ultra HD benchmark.

Sky Diver - For gaming laptops and mid-range PCs
Sky Diver is a DirectX 11 benchmark that is ideal for testing mainstream graphics cards, mobile GPUs, integrated graphics and other systems that cannot achieve double-digit frame rates in the more demanding Fire Strike test.

Cloud Gate - For notebooks and home PCs
Use Cloud Gate to test the performance of notebooks and typical home PCs. Cloud Gate uses a DirectX 11 engine limited to Direct3D feature level 10, making it suitable for testing DirectX 10 compatible hardware.

Ice Storm - For basic tablets and smartphones
Use Ice Storm, Ice Storm Extreme, and Ice Storm Unlimited to compare smartphones and tablets running Windows, Android, and iOS. Ice Storm uses DirectX 11 feature level 9. On Android and iOS, it uses OpenGL ES 2.0. You can compare scores across platforms.

Feature Tests

API Overhead feature test - Compare the latest graphics APIs
The 3DMark API Overhead feature test is the world's first independent test for comparing the performance of DirectX 12, Mantle, and DirectX 11. See how many draw calls your PC can handle with each API before the frame rate drops below 30 fps.

VRMark Preview

Is your PC ready for VR?
Experience an interactive preview of VRMark, our upcoming virtual reality benchmark. In this preview, you can explore two VRMark test scenes with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. But don't worry if you don't have a headset. The preview works with your monitor too.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS:Windows Vista*
    • Processor:1.8 GHz dual-core
    • Memory:2 GB RAM
    • Graphics:DirectX 9**
    • Storage:3 GB space

Please refer to the DLC pages for the system requirements for each individual benchmark test.

    * Windows Vista users will need to install the DirectX 11 platform update from Microsoft.
** You can use 3DMark to test DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 compatible hardware, but you will need a DirectX 11 compatible video card to run all of the tests. DirectX 9 hardware needs Shader Model 3.0 support, 128MB video card memory and WDDM 1.1 drivers.

This version has some serious issues, constant crashing and when it crashes, steam still thinks it's running which means I have to force close steam to get it to stop. It says I have 9.6 hours on this program but I have only ran two firemark ultra tests, combining for three minutes total. Will not use until fixed. I do not like having a broken program constantly running in the back ground if I don't want to force close steam.

If it worked, 3dmark is a great program for users.

Doesn't even work at all. I've been playing around with it for two hours now. Nothing will work. Always says "Oops! An error has occurred. Workload produced no results" it won't even start the benchmark. It says that it is installed when clearly it isn't. Fix the dang software.

[ In Short great benchmarking application even free verison is great ]
2016 version

App covers everything from phones to highest end PC's with VR and Directx 12 benchmarks to my knowledge are considered fairly accurate and not biased to AMD or NVIDIA or mobile variant Graphics processors.

APPLICATION - 2016 version had a nice overhaul very clean looking lighweight and allows you to install only the benchmarks you want to use paid version allows you to have results displayed within the app with detailed graphs.

WEBSITE - their website could use some work i find when i try to select benchmarks with only 1 GPU it just flat out doesn't work other than that it's okay layed out able to see the world record holders but it's just not consistant like not being able to see the search bar if you go to futuremark theres no quick link back to 3dmark, i wish there was a way to just click and see other results with same amount of GPU's/Same GPU or similarly priced and specify if you want Overclocked or not.

Summary - Application is good reliable benchmarks (to my knowledge) clean interface, but the website could use some love. 8/10

Really expensive for a benchmark tool, it's ok, but probably better just to look at your spec's and compare online or use a free tool (like these used to be)

Some of the OC'ers I've talked to give this a thumbs down, but I like the simple interpretive capabilities of usnig this to get a general overview / idea of what I'm working with on my rig. I am an air cool entheusiast, I've done water cooling, investigated TEC, phase change, etc. and I'm happy with what 3DMark is and what it provides. The only downside I've seen using it is it can be quite unstable when doing loop testing, and there's always issues with the upload score, especially since they changed the timing issues. I'm not sure why it thinks my rig is 1/2 the time trying to game the system, seems like their anti-cheat tool needs some more work.

This is probably the best benchmarking tool for gaming setups. Concisely put, that's the good stuff out of the way.

Unfortunately it is plagued with issues on Windows 10 that I've spent hours trying to solve on my brand new top of the line gaming pc which every other program I try runs flawlessly on. I've extensively tried to fix the issue myself including: changing various windows security settings and permissions, driver rollbacks and clean installs, complete uninstalls of the program using 3rd party software, changing the drives I use to install it on (and even changing the drive of my entire steam install) and more. I'm really jumping through hoops here to get this working and it's not.

A search online will tell you how hit or miss 3DMark is on Windows 10. In my opinion it should really come with a warning label because there really is a significant chance this just won't work on Windows 10. There are some users that spend hours upon hours (like myself) trying to fix it and that's just not right. 3DMark developers stop what you are doing, go online, look at all of the problems that have been reported for Windows 10 and FIX THEM!!! Potential 3DMark buyers, be warned that you will either get, in my opinion, the best gaming benchmarking tool there is or 3GB of broken code.

This review will turn into a thumbs up if you fix 3DMark for Windows 10.

It's awesome at showing you how obsolete your computer really is. Buy it to make yourself feel inferior to people with unlimited wallets who overclock $1000 parts.

Probably the most used PC Benchmarking system ever...
Bought my PC that ran everything at 1080p 60fps easily
Tried 3D Mark Fire Strike
Runs at 12fps on Physics test :/
The rest went well...
If I took out the physics test I wouldn't have been disappointed :(
Loads of other Benchmarking tools on it.
Recommend comparing your PC using this and Unigine Heaven as well.
