About This Software

3DMark includes everything you need to benchmark your hardware. With eight individual benchmarks, you can test everything from tablets and notebooks to the latest 4K gaming PCs. It's the most powerful and flexible 3DMark we've ever created.

We designed 3DMark for gamers, overclockers and system builders who want to get the most out of their hardware. 3DMark is a complete PC benchmarking tool kit for those who are serious about performance. And it's no longer just for Windows. With the new 3DMark, you can compare your scores with Android, iOS and Windows RT devices too.

  • The latest version of the world's most popular benchmarking tool.
  • Includes eight stunning benchmarks for DirectX 11, DirectX 10 and DirectX 9 hardware.
  • Compare DirectX 12, Mantle and DirectX 11 with the API Overhead feature test.
  • Test everything from tablets to desktop gaming PCs.
  • Compare scores with other Windows, Android and iOS devices.
  • Compete for the fastest PC on Steam with Steam leaderboards.
  • Easy to use, no technical know-how needed.

Benchmark Tests

Fire Strike - For high performance gaming PCs
Fire Strike is a showcase DirectX 11 benchmark designed for today's high-performance gaming PCs. Use Fire Strike to test dedicated gaming PCs, Fire Strike Extreme for high-end systems with multiple GPUs (Crossfire/SLI), or try Fire Strike Ultra, the world's first 4K Ultra HD benchmark.

Sky Diver - For gaming laptops and mid-range PCs
Sky Diver is a DirectX 11 benchmark that is ideal for testing mainstream graphics cards, mobile GPUs, integrated graphics and other systems that cannot achieve double-digit frame rates in the more demanding Fire Strike test.

Cloud Gate - For notebooks and home PCs
Use Cloud Gate to test the performance of notebooks and typical home PCs. Cloud Gate uses a DirectX 11 engine limited to Direct3D feature level 10, making it suitable for testing DirectX 10 compatible hardware.

Ice Storm - For tablets and entry-level PCs
Use Ice Storm to compare low cost smart phones and tablets and Ice Storm Extreme to compare mainstream mobile devices running Windows, Android, iOS and Windows RT. Ice Storm Unlimited is a specialized "offscreen" test for making chip-to-chip comparisons of CPUs & GPUs. Ice Storm uses DirectX 11 feature level 9 on Windows. On Android and iOS, it uses OpenGL ES 2.0. You can compare scores across platforms.

Feature Tests

API Overhead feature test - Compare the latest graphics APIs
Games make thousands of draw calls per frame, but each one creates performance-limiting overhead for the CPU. APIs with less overhead can handle more draw calls and produce richer visuals. The 3DMark API Overhead feature test is the world's first independent test for comparing the performance of DirectX 12, Mantle, and DirectX 11. See how many draw calls your PC can handle with each API before the frame rate drops below 30 fps.

Key Features

  • Includes eight individual benchmark tests.
  • Unlock Fire Strike Ultra, the world's first 4K Ultra HD benchmark.
  • Test multi-GPU systems with Fire Strike Extreme.
  • Test tablets with Ice Storm Extreme and Unlimited.
  • Compare DirectX 12, Mantle and DirectX 11 with API Overhead feature test.
  • Explore your PC's limits with custom settings.
  • Use benchmark looping for stability testing.
  • Get in-depth interactive performance graphs.
  • Automatically save your results offline.

This game is the most pay-to-win game I have ever played. To have any hope of getting near the top of leaderboards you will have to spend at least 4-5k of your hard earned cash, and, to add to all of this, there is no gameplay to be found, just a series of cutscenes with no relevance to eachother at all. This is a grim sign of where the industry is headed.

Just when you think you have a pretty good rig. This program will smack that thought right out your head, Stomp on that dream, and crush any hopes of possibly obtaining that Master PC status again until tax time. 10/10

Some people don't seem to understand the purpose of benchmarking software. If that is you, then 3DMark probably isn't for you. Most games pre-render their cutscenes, as some computers can't handle them. 3DMark renders extremely complex scenes locally on your system. This allows you to measure the power of your setup, and see how it will perform in games. The other advantage is for overclocking. You can get a score before and after the overclock. This will give you a baseline to see how much improvement you've squeezed from a device with your overclocks. Additionally, an overclock isn't always stable once a card reachers higher heat, or you push it to its limits. 3DMark can also be used to test your stability. If you can run it for a few hours without a crash, your overclock is probably stable! On top of that, the scenes are a joy to look at, and really fun for showing off your computer when friends come over! If you are more than a gamer, a computer enthusiast, pick this up! You won't be dissapointed. If you want a free alternative, check out the "Unigine" benchmarks. They are fun too, but won't give the indepth details that 3Dmark will. -PR0XIDIAN

This really showed me where my PC was at and let me fine tune some things in order to make it run better and seeing how really expensive PCs run with their equipment allows me to decide on what next to buy in order to upgrade my PC without costing me an arm and a leg

I use this benchmark a lot. Maybe too much. I've put more hours into benchmarking in the latest 3DMark than most of my Steam titles. It's handsdown the best 3D benchmarking utility to gauge your system's performance. The result data itself is actually useful and is strengthed by being able to upload your results and compare them to other systems with similar or even wildly different components.

A fantastic program for stress testing, the demo is all you need for single gpu systems, but if you have some extra cash I recommend the full version, the full version lets you:
1: Stress Test Multiple GPU Systems
2: Lets you use, Firestrike Extreme (for 2+ gpu's)
Firestrike 4K test, and a couple others
3: Achievements
One of the coolest things about this program, there is a leaderboard, you can see who has the highest score, for example, at the time of writing this, 1st place for fire strike, has 4 980's and a score of 40,000 my high score with 2 760's is 9200

A complete, highly customizable suite of benchmarking tools and a pretty thorough scoring system. I don't know if I'd recommend this for full retail price, but it is absolutely worth purchasing when on sale.

Some of the achievements are silly.
