About This Game

Cry of Fear is a psychological single-player and co-op horror game set in a deserted town filled with horrific creatures and nightmarish delusions. You play as a young man desperately searching for answers in the cold Scandinavian night, finding his way through the city as he slowly descends into madness. With a strong emphasis on cinematic experience, immersion and lateral thinking, players will be taken on a nightmare rollercoaster-ride through the grim streets of Fäversholm and beyond. Not everything is as it seems...

Cry of Fear originally started out as a Half-Life 1 modification, set in the same vein as the classic survival horror games of old. 4 years in the making and picking up several modding awards on the way, it is now a free, standalone game for anyone to enjoy. Beware though, it's not for the faint of heart.

> Beat zombies with no legs to death in small sewers.
> Friend says "What if these people are actually retired war veterans and we're just hallucinating.
> Continues to question game.
> "What if these guys with hammers are just engineers?"
> "What if these baby demon-like things are just kids?"
> "What is this guy with an axe is just protecting his family because we killed them all?"

10/10 would question own ethics again.

I play 30 minutes of Cry of Fear
Then I stop.
There's a free game called "Virdi" that is supposed to be great at relaxing your nerves, so I play that for a bit.

It's a virtual flower garden.
I play Virdi. I water my succulents. I draw sketches of my succulents.

Then I play Cry of Fear again for another 30 minutes.
I go back to my succulents.

I play another 15 minutes of Cry of Fear, but immediately stop when I hear the Sawrunner.
I go back to my succulents.

I can still hear the Sawrunner

I water my Echeverria "Lola"
I can still hear the Sawrunner
I prune some weeds from my pot, that I have dubbed "The Dankest Pot."
I can see Sophie's bloody, strewn body on the pavement.
I plant my new Lithops Optica Rubras.

Their blood-red tinge makes me think of the Human Flowers that impale Simon and drag his corpse to be amalgamated in their gore.

The sketches of my succulents are now tainted with imagery of jagged knives and weeping women. They were my only respite from the hell that is Simon's mind. Cry of Fear still managed to poison my Garden.

10/10 would have my mind permanently corrupted for all of eternity again.
