About This Game

Brink is an immersive first-person shooter that blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into one seamless experience, allowing you to develop your character whether playing alone, with your friends, or against others online. You decide the combat role you want to assume in the world of Brink as you fight to save yourself and mankind’s last refuge. Brink offers a compelling mix of dynamic battlefields, extensive customization options, and an innovative control system that will keep you coming back for more.

Brink takes place on the Ark, a man-made floating city that is on the brink of all-out civil war. Originally built as an experimental, self-sufficient and 100% “green” habitat, the reported rapid rise of the Earth’s oceans has forced the Ark to become home to not only the original founders and their descendants but also to thousands of refugees. With tensions between the two groups growing, Security and Resistance forces are locked in a heated battle for control of the Ark. Which side will you choose?

KEY FEATURES:

  • Not Just Another Hero – Brink's advanced player customization offers a near-endless combination of looks for your character – allowing for the appearance of your character to be truly unique. As you progress through the game and acquire more experience, you’ll have even more opportunities for customization.
  • Two Sides to Every Story – Choose to fight through the single player campaign as either a member of the Resistance or the Security and then take your same character online to play cooperatively or competitively against other players.
  • Blurring the Lines – Take your unique character online at any time you choose! Brink allows you to seamlessly move between your single player campaign, co-op with friends, and intense multiplayer action. Multiplayer takes the story online where you can play with up to seven other people (or AI characters) cooperatively as you take on the opposing faction or with up to 16 players competitively.
  • Play SMART – Brink uses the familiar shooter controls that you’re used to, without frustrating, artificial constraints and adds a new feature: the SMART button. When you press the SMART button, the game dynamically evaluates where you’re trying to get to, and makes it happen. Whether you’re a seasoned FPS veteran or someone just getting started, you’ll be able to make more intelligent decisions during the fast-paced action with SMART.
  • Context-Sensitive Goals and Rewards - Objectives, communications, missions, and inventory selection are all dynamically generated based on your role, your condition, your location, your squad-mates, and the overall status of the battle in all gameplay modes. You’ll always know exactly where to go, what to do when you get there, and what your reward will be for success.

Most games I can run at AT LEAST 60 fps on high. I went into the first campaign mission in Brink, and got 27 with all "pretty" settings off and vsync disabled. 10/10 optimization
It also didn't work on my old laptop because it didnt support integrated graphics cards. 10/10 universal hardware coding
The storyline sounds good though 0/10 story

You'd be surprised how long the game lasted. It is dead now though.

Victim of rushed development and corporate deadlines. Real shame it had a lot of potential.

I liked the story bits/general setting, audio logs and character customization was on point. But most of all the music. The few reasons I leave a like.

RIP.

Don't get tricked by the trailers... The game isn't what the videos show. Also, the multiplayer is dead. The only good thing about it is the character customization

its bad

you may play at first and think "oh this is ok" however that's at the start... the game has a HUGE flaw in reguards to the bots and that is they appear to get more difficult the more you level up but why is this an issue?

if you cant pass a certain mission because you find it hard you will find yourself falling more and more behind the more you attempt it

i'll give an example based on percentages and attempts

Attempt 1 80% objective complete (you level up)
Attempt 2 60% objective complete (you level up)
Attempt 3 10% objective complete (you level up)
attempt 4 0% objective complete (the enemy is basically spawn camping you)

its also unclear what you actually need to do to unlock abilities outside of basic ones and pretty much all weapons are unlocked from the start all you can do is unlock attatchments most of which have negative values that outweigh the positives

over all it feels like a spiritual sucessor to Wolfenstien Enemy Territory but fails badly

Only a fraction of what was promised, and with a horrible launch that killed the game. Servers are pretty dead, though you can play with bots.

Avoid this and play Dirty Bomb instead. (Same developers)

An ambitious attempt to energize the modern FPS genre with more satisfying options for map traversal (that to this day is heavily poached, to critical acclaim); I very much wanted this game to succeed, but from anemic weaponry, to frustrating progression and horribly dodgy servers, it seemed doomed to fail.

A tragic, though vital sacrifice for the sake of game design progress.

The game is sadly completely dead so don't even bother since it is completely multiplayer focused. The singleplayer is just multiplayer missions with bots but the bots are broken, the fps is also locked at 30 in solo mode for no real reason.

My first official steam game, back in 2011 i decided to stop pirating stuff like cs and move onto steam, i thought this game would be a whole lot of fun but it is the first step that is troublesome:

+Visuals: Back in 5 years ago this game had great graphics, it was kind of fun to play.
+Sound work: Nice ost, nice gun sounds, this part is well done as well.
-Gameplay: the game itself is a disaster
-the main promised feature, the core of this game - parkour - is total bullsh`t, you can only *jump* and *wall run* in some areas that actually meant to be passed that way, and not all the classes can do that stuff, you know even BATTLEFIELD 3 has that kind of *parkour* and that is just sad
-no class balance and rеtаrded AI - you can stay in the middle of the hallway with machinegun shooting in the one point and bots will suicide running towards you.
-no map balance - most of the maps are one sided, you need a miracle to win for the weak side, or you enemies should be brain damaged.
-boring campaing, i want to play pve vs bots i better choose starwars battlefront, and pvp in this game is nonexistant, dead multiplayer + lame campaing.
-no steamcards

So what do we have after all: stillborn game, dead multiplayer, a lot of promises that were never implemented + this game was nearly instantly dead, for the 6 years this game got a maximum discount of 50% ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ this game is bad and abandoned by the devs long time ago. Dont buy it, its a waste of money.

This game is at the brink of extinction.
Bad puns aside, The community of this game is currently in the dozens. Get this game, and get your friends to get it.

What you're buying is a team based first person shooter consisting of two campaigns with a maximum of 8 PLAYERS cooperatively working on the battlefield with multiple objectives occuring at the same time. If your not interested in the campaign, then there are huge shootouts of balanced teams on the stages (if there's enough people). You've got a variety of customizable weapons with at least two of them suiting your playstyle. A leveling and rank system that rewards more customization options and allows you to use skills that modify your playstyle of the four different classes (With enough skillpoints to usually perfect your favorite two). Challenges to start the game off with so you've got battlefield experience (And the challenges give you weapons, mods and experience so you aren't jumping into multiplayer at level one). A parkour system that if mastered can allow some crazy combos and even hidden collectable lore. Also you can make a ton of characters should you want a different build or just to experiment.

If you've read this, just get the game already.

Old game but still give it a shot you might like it.

The game has almost all what I need and that are PARKOUR, ACTION and CHARECTER CUSTOMIZATION.

So not that bad I really enjoy it.

And sadly I like it. One of my first steam games and the idea of the parkour was nice, I liked the art style, some of the maps and costumes were good but it was dead and is still dead with no community or player base and as a team-based shooter with classes that's bad. The AI isn't bad but it's still useless and often the defenders can do a better job as their AI just all sit on choke points and your team run headlong ito them

Product received for free
I got this game about a year ago for free from my damn good friend, Beruka.

The gameplay is awesome, and so is the parkour. The campaign was a little short, but that's ok, its multiplayer.
Kind of..
The servers are mostly dead, and the only ones that aren't password locked or dont have anyone playing are filled with bots and not many players.

Otherwise, it's a great game.

This used to be very good
The Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain = S.M.A.R.T was probably the best thing in this shooter
Why you shut down the servers?
It had a good base of players
Trust me,this community was not toxic at all,I were a noob once, then my team took me and explained to me what`s what
