Acerca do Jogo

Brink is an immersive first-person shooter that blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into one seamless experience, allowing you to develop your character whether playing alone, with your friends, or against others online. You decide the combat role you want to assume in the world of Brink as you fight to save yourself and mankind’s last refuge. Brink offers a compelling mix of dynamic battlefields, extensive customization options, and an innovative control system that will keep you coming back for more.

Brink takes place on the Ark, a man-made floating city that is on the brink of all-out civil war. Originally built as an experimental, self-sufficient and 100% “green” habitat, the reported rapid rise of the Earth’s oceans has forced the Ark to become home to not only the original founders and their descendants but also to thousands of refugees. With tensions between the two groups growing, Security and Resistance forces are locked in a heated battle for control of the Ark. Which side will you choose?

KEY FEATURES:

  • Not Just Another Hero – Brink's advanced player customization offers a near-endless combination of looks for your character – allowing for the appearance of your character to be truly unique. As you progress through the game and acquire more experience, you’ll have even more opportunities for customization.
  • Two Sides to Every Story – Choose to fight through the single player campaign as either a member of the Resistance or the Security and then take your same character online to play cooperatively or competitively against other players.
  • Blurring the Lines – Take your unique character online at any time you choose! Brink allows you to seamlessly move between your single player campaign, co-op with friends, and intense multiplayer action. Multiplayer takes the story online where you can play with up to seven other people (or AI characters) cooperatively as you take on the opposing faction or with up to 16 players competitively.
  • Play SMART – Brink uses the familiar shooter controls that you’re used to, without frustrating, artificial constraints and adds a new feature: the SMART button. When you press the SMART button, the game dynamically evaluates where you’re trying to get to, and makes it happen. Whether you’re a seasoned FPS veteran or someone just getting started, you’ll be able to make more intelligent decisions during the fast-paced action with SMART.
  • Context-Sensitive Goals and Rewards - Objectives, communications, missions, and inventory selection are all dynamically generated based on your role, your condition, your location, your squad-mates, and the overall status of the battle in all gameplay modes. You’ll always know exactly where to go, what to do when you get there, and what your reward will be for success.

Brink is too original for its own good. That is the only conclusion I have been able to come up with for why so many gamers absolutely despise it. If more work had been done on the campaign, and further refinements to weapon balancing and squad workings had been undertaken, Brink would still be out there kicking butt and taking names.

Being able to slide over, under, along, and around objects and cover is easily the highlight of this title. There's nothing like running out of ammo, only to take down a foe by sliding across a desk and snapping his neck with a foot in the chops. Crank the speakers up in a battle, and you're liable to make the folks next door call the cops and say we're being invaded - you can identify a weapon by the sound it makes, for once. Graphically, it manages to keep a style all its own, somewhere between the cartoony wackiness of TF2 and the seriousness of BF2.

What's the best part of Brink? That's easy: the guns. Not, mind you, actually using them...but customizing them. Ever wanted a silenced shotgun? Brink's your man. How about a minigun that'd make Duke Nukem weep? It's all in there! Unfortunately, as of updating this review, the multiplayer is all but dead...but the campaign's long enough to justify a purchase next time a big sale on the complete pack rolls around.

If you enjoy team gameplay like Team Fortress 2, I suggest buying Brink. Brink is a FPS game with team-oriented gameplay mechanics with medics, soldiers, engineers, and assassins. Medics can revive team members, give accelerated healing abilities to other team members, and has specified special skills and abilities. Soldiers can give ammo and can unlock grenades. Engineers are like the engineers in TF2 where they can set up sentry guns. Not only that, they can give upgraded ammo or armor to teammates and they can also drop mines. To add to that, the members all have different tasks to do such as planting C4 to blow up bridges or walls preventing escape, hacking into systems to complete tasks, and more. The "new" Call of Duty Ghosts fuction of running and then sliding was already utilized in this game where you can slide by pressing the hotkey. Sliding can also knock down enemies so you can kill them without them shooting back. Weapons are customizable and you can unlock some other weapons through mini-games. Depending on the size of the character you chose, you can parkour through maps, jumping off the walls and whatnot.

The only unfortunate aspect of this game is that the multiplayer is dead. I hope that my review will cause a few of you to buy this game or to take another look at this game in your library and revitalize this great game.

Awesome shooter. Atmosphere is post-apocalyptic, customization is cool and interesting, lots of customizing weapons, dynamic gameplay with free run. Storyline is not so interesting, but multiplayer is pretty nice.

This is probably one of the most underrated games of the 21st century. I picked it up back on the PS3 originally, and despite it's flaws at launch such as mediocre AI and minor lag, (issues that were improved later into the games life) it was an absolute blast to play. The varying levels of customization were great, spanning all the way from weapons to the character itself. Not only that, but all the maps played well and looked absoulutely georgeous. The gameplay was a refreshing change to what you experienced in most FPS games at the time, with fun and flamboyant free running moves that not only looked great but were simple to execute. However, because Brink was developed by 'Splash Damage' and not 'Infinity Ward' websites such as IGN and Gamespot gave it a 6, slamming the game for it's poor AI and repetition. Sure I'd accept that if this was a game that based itself around singleplayer rather than multiplayer gameplay, but marking it down for repetition when video games such as Modern Warfare 2 get given 9's is ridiculous.

At the end of the day, this was a game that had it's head put on the block before it even got released. Sure, it's far from perfect, but it's as good as your going to get if your looking for a multiplayer FPS that's a little different from the norm.

Do you want to struggle across a map to do a timed interaction objective in a tiny grenade trap of a room immediately next to the enemy spawn? Well, Brink is the game for you!

Terribly frustrating game, tacked on progression system. There's maybe a core of a good game here in the gunplay and movement options but every single map is 24/7 instant respawn 2fort levels of stupid. I paid full price for Brink on launch and hate it so much I had Steam support remove it from my account.

I feel like I owed Splash Damage some money from Enemy Territory, anyway. Just play Enemy Territory. It's miles better and probably still has more players.
