About This Game

Forge™ is a Free-to-Play, Arena Style PvP battleground set in a gritty fantasy universe that is sure to please fans of competitive, class based action! The great pantheon of gods has been swallowed by the malicious Devourer. In order to escape, these gods must sacrifice the weakest of their followers to gain power, so they have pitted fierce devotees and zealous adherents in epic battles on the faceless world of FORGE. Choosing one of seven unique warrior classes, the player must battle head-to-head with other players in a bid to free their god from the clutches of The Devourer. Armed with a set of devastating abilities as well as powerful allies, each warrior must overcome the varied challenges of Forge where every kill is a sacrifice and every sacrifice brings them one step closer to freedom.

key Features

MMO meets FPS: Combat takes place in MMO PvP Arena Style battlegrounds using FPS mechanics and aiming to create a deep, visceral, team oriented experience.

Skills pay the bills: Winners are determined by skill, not character level. No more waiting for your friends to level up so you can play together! Forge evens the odds between new players and max level veterans. Leveling up gives players new attack variants, but it does not provide power increases like other RPGs.

Free to Slay: Forge is free with no “pay to win.” The currency, Ore, is only used to buy cosmetic upgrades, so players get full access to the meaty combat for free. Invite your friends to join in the battle!

Class based combat: Storm the battlefield as the Assassin, Pathfinder, Pyromancer, Shaman, Warden, Tinker or Ravager. Each plays a crucial role on the team, so choose wisely!

Character customization: Spend your hard earned Ore in the Forge store to customize your favorite characters with spectacular armor!

Deep Steam integration: Achievements, Stats, Skill Based Matchmaking, Steam Server Browser, Valve Anti-Cheat, VoIP and the Steam Overlay.

Ever expanding: While Forge has the accessibility and low time requirements of a first person shooter, it will also receive new content on a regular basis like most MMOs.

I've seen this game die, quite literally, and I would much like to see it brought back into the light. I feel what really turns people off about this game is, in some respects, the intense learning curve. For those of you that are willing to put in the effort to play this skill-based pvp game, then I highly recommend playing. Then, maybe we can pull this game from the dirt...maybe.

Truly an innovation in Multiplayer Arena games. I bought this game back before it was free-to-play, and even though I've set it down for quite a while, I don't have an ounce of regret concerning the purchase.

This game brings the best of MMOs, MOBAs, and FPSs together. Forge features nicely decorated maps and characters, a new and fluid combat system, and a variety of characters with unique roles and abilities. Although frustration is easy to encounter when first starting out with Forge, once you've rebound your keys, figured out what the plethura of abilities that your favorite character offers can do, and put in a little bit of time to learn how to succeed in the game against more experienced players, it offers an amazing multiplayer gaming experience that can't really be found elsewhere.

If you need a game to reference, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is probably comparable to Forge, but perhaps a bit dumbed-down with less focus on abilities and more focus on intense combat with variety seeded in weapon-choice.

Forge combat usually plays out like your typical MOBA battle-a series of stuns, bleeds, poisons, blinds, silences, stealth/invisibility-moves, etc.-, but Forge adds an entirely new dimension to the combat with the third-person perspective and FPS-like implementation. Everything about Forge combat feels good, and when you shoot an arrow to pin an opponent to the ground, you feel like you're actually making a physical impact in 3D space.

Not to mention that the movement system includes wall-jumping built-in. Any character can jump from wall to wall like a lemur at will, given they have enough "energy" at the time. This adds to the fluidity of the fast-paced action. Even height becomes a relatively small barrier to the continuous movement that becomes second-nature as you familiarize yourself with the game.

Forge gets a bad rap because the community isn't exactly active these days (as well as the fact that the game can be rough when you're just getting started, for reasons mentioned above), but if you can get some friends together to try the game out, I would recommend it (but perhaps it'd be best for some preparation time beforehand, as the tutorials do take a bit of time and it takes some time to adjust to the gameplay and find the keybindings you like best). I hope that eventually this game will have a thriving community again, which Steam has provided for so many other unique multiplayer games.

This is one of the greatest MOBA's ever created. With FPS style aiming in a fantasy set world with classes to choose, this is a great game.

This game looks like it could be pretty awesome, but has some terrible problems. I like the mechanics well enough. The battlegrounds are epic and interesting. The biggest problem is that there is nobody to play with. I've been playing for a couple hours. Mostly waiting in a match for someone to join. I've seen 3 people. This would be cool with a ton of people on it.

Animations feel weak and disconnected. Every class has similar abilities in like slots, this makes characters boring. Sound is just copied and pasted from move to move so theres no situational awareness from it.

Dont let my 0.0 hours played put you off, i dropped about 300ish hours into this game on release. was good abck in the day, but is it still goood now, i dont know. I kind of lost interest when it went free to play.

Is it worth playing, yes deifnitely. i mean it dropped all the way back in like 2007 (i could be wrong, its been a long long time haha) and an mmo (well arena game) that still gets support after 7 odd years is definitely worth playing.

Its also free, so you cant really go wrong.

Its an arena based multiplayer game that has very different classes and a balanced way of upgrading your characters (example: you can improve speed but will have to take it away from something else, like damage or armor). The many abilities for each character is hard to get used to using at first, but if you reconfigure it to your liking then it is much easier.

Overall, its a great free to play game and worth your time to check it out.

This game is a hidden gem. The sad part is that NO ONE plays -_- WHY NOT??? It's really too bad because I totally enjoyed every part of it. The combat system is so amazing and challenging, even against bots. I can only imagine how intense it would be in PVP.

To the developers of Forge: DON'T QUIT ON THIS GAME. It's a good idea and you guys are on the right track. Just put your noggins together and start brainstorming marketing ideas. Bring it back to life!

Wish you awesome and talented people the best~

In FORGE, a malicious being named The Devourer has swallowed the great pantheon of gods. Seeking escape, the trapped gods have deceptively turned great warriors into zealous adherents and placed them on a faceless world called FORGE, where every champion's death feeds the immortals power. Choosing one of five unique warrior classes, the player must battle head-to-head against others in a bid to free their god from the clutches of The Devourer. Armed with a set of powerful and unique abilities as well as a mystical and deadly ally, each warrior must overcome the varied challenges of FORGE where every victory is a sacrifice and every sacrifice brings them one step closer to freedom.

What's here is good stuff, though, and even if it never got another piece of content Forge would pull its weight. A bit short on content, but Forge is nevertheless a frenetic rush of competitive multiplayer action. All in all, Forge's frenetic gameplay, innovative concept, and active community make up for the lackluster feature list-but just barely.

Forge is an ambitious mixture of genres--PVP and team FPS--but it's not polished enough and doesn't have quite enough content to work completely yet. Dark Vale has their work cut out for them making Forge a complete and intuitive experience, but the potential is there.

Great game, free to play obviously, amazing pvp, amazing maps, they nailed the rpg pvp, with 3rd person shooter, this game one the of the most incredible games for pure pvp i have ever seen, they have created this game for strategy and skill, with no click and shoot spells like World of warcraft, reaction time and good aiming with a crosshair are the only things you ned haha rating this a 10/10
( you need not buy anything from the store, it does not change the agme at all )
