A simple and entertaining game, Dead Pixels is a side scrolling shoot 'em up with a fairly strong RPG element for the genre. Your goal in the game is to make it a specified number of blocks (levels) without dying so that you can escape the zombie-infested city. Along the way you kill hundreds of zombies, scavenge for supplies, and trade for better gear and skill training.

I recommend this as a game to jump into and play when the mood strikes especially if you have a friend to play with. Though it's not in-depth zombie survival by any means, few games on that market can compete for the old-school local co-op experience that has earned this game a place in my library.

The game itself is just okay, but I have to give this a thumbs up for being made by someone who clearly enjoys the genre when so many people are just slapping together zombie games for a quick buck. Worth picking up when it's on sale just to see how many of the numerous zombie movie/game related names and easter eggs you can catch.

An 8-Bit stratergy side scrolling shootem up game you say. Downloaded this not expecting much, But damn, This is actually Quite fun. Like Really fun, Choosing which Zombies you want to kill and which ones to leave by, Workign out what to horde and what not to, Learnign news guns and

"should i be ripped off by a shop keeper buy buying shopkeeper bargening skills from them" hmmm

Over all I'm going to Rate this game a Solid 7/10

Where i feel it Lacks is:

No Bouncing Arrow for the Shop keepers building (would help identify them in heat of battle)
Needs more ways the character and NPC's die
When horde inbound a flashing WARNING WARNING WARNING would add atmosphere to game (liek omg nooooo)
Lack of Online Multiplayer (for co op with Friends)
Lacks Depth of Story
Needs some Inspiration from METAL SLUG and BRO FORCE to make it a winning Game worth $5 or more. (paid 74cents)

Would I reccomend the game. Sure. for $3 you cant go wrong for a few hours worth of play time.

Dead Pixels is a pixelated zombie game. Name makes quite a lot of sense, huh? You're a survivor headed to a place where you'll meet other survivors to get out of the quarantined city. The difficulty determines how many "streets" you got to go through, all of them crawling with zombies of course. The further you go, the harder it gets. There are houses in which you can collect some loot and sell to vendors for money. You'll use that to buy ammo/weapons/items that you'll use. You don't have a lot of ammo so killing every zombie is a suicide. You can also buy upgrades.

Now gameplay-wise, the game is fun and the style is even appealing. You could even play it in local co-op. Many hours of fun can be had with this game.

Lil' Sucky Gameplay to go with the review.

7.2/10 - Great 8bit. Exceeded my expectations

From the start, this 8bit game blew me away. Cheap and well done! From the start it detected my graphics and controller. I didn't expect that. The opening cut-scenes were good. The story is not original at all but the game is. You loot shops, kill zombies and progress the 10 streets to salvation.

Completed 2/10 streets. I will finish for sure!

Worth $5! A must buy if cheaper.
