Realistic, immersive, diverse and simply so much fun.
There are so many ways that you can play this game and so many different kinds of units for you to master in controlling. Playing with or against friends in multiplayer is especially fun, with endless possiblities and intense combat. if you know how to use your units wisely you can destroy your opponents without losing a piece, if you don't you lose everything without killing anything.

Requires time investment in studying units but once you get into it, you will be amazed

Very good game, especially for strategic geeks. It's complex game with tons of cold war equipment. Icing on the cake is multiplayer mode with pretty live community - I stronglly recommended that piece of art !!

Great job with the antipiracy, I can almost complete 50 percent of LAN games before online disconnect. Makes multiplayer pointless. It’s a very good game that is unusable because of this

If you get this game, be prepared to do a lot of Google searches to figure out how anything works, because there is no in-game help whatsoever. No tutorial (the so-called tutorial is just an easy mission with literally no explanation of anything), no tooltips, not even a list of controls. You have to use Google just to learn the controls! And when you do, you will find that there are some commands that, after 2 years, no one knows what they do. The game is THAT opaque.

PROS: Incredible-looking modern combat simulation. You can zoom from a mile up, viewing the whole battlefield, all the way down to ground level, seeing it from the eyes of the soldiers, which is very useful for determining lines of sight. If you've been looking for a modern successor to Close Combat 2: A Bridge Too Far or Close Combat 3: The Russian Front, this is it.

CONS: Total disrespect toward new players, not just from other players but from the company itself. If your idea of a challenge is taking hours to figure out something they could have told you in 5 seconds, this game's for you.

This game does a great job of being practical, authentic and extremely difficult.

If you're into military sim and RTS this is the one. If you're into Guy Fieri, this probably isn't for you.

Coming from being a console gamer with a obsession with RTS, this game blew my mind. Best strategy game ive ever played, super realistic, I always love improving my decks and strategies. Gotta love Stealth Bombers.

The only con I have is that is crashes suprisingly often if you do anything else. Alt-TAB? Crash, somone disconnected from the game due to sudden loss of connection? Crash. And the thing that annoys me most is most of these crashes arent just crashes, they force you to restart your computer, task manager will not shut the game down to allow you to relaunch it. Even after months of these same crashes, its still not fixed.

again, not too common, but when it happens its very frustrating. Even with the issue its not even close enough to prevent me from playing the game often and enjoying it.

this game is not something you can easily pick up and play. Its hard to learn, and harder to master. But I love it. I lose every fight I get into, and I'm not very good at it. But I love it. I love this game because of the history, because of the music and the detailed maps and the many strategys and just being able to watch the battle happen. The replays bring out the art of the game, and let you expirience your own war story. I suck at it. I cant play it for my life. But I love this game for the storys I make in it.

Complexity: this game has it in spades. The learning curve is brutal, and the included tutorials are more or less useless. I'd recommend you read the comprehensive Wargame Guide here on Steam, sections Combined Arms through Types of Move Orders at minimum, but I know you'll do the same thing I did. Namely, get immediately annhilated fighting the Easy AI.

Anyway, after a few disastrous adventures on the Highway to Oslo map, one comes to realize this game has more than meets the eye. And what meets the eye is impressive in itself: sprawling maps teeming with bridges, towns, ports, highways, rivers, hills, forests, farms, all of which you can examine from ground level and, after a seamless mouse-wheel swoop, from a few thousand feet up. I can watch my jet fighters ducking through AA tracer fire again and again (in slow motion, no less, courtesy of the game saving a replay of every single match).

I like this game. I look forward to some online matches, and buying Red Dragon next time it's on sale.

Incredibly Complex RTS Game. Great Fun once you get into it, but this can take some time. Not really for the new RTS players.

If you've played R.U.S.E. and liked it, you'll love this game. Although it does need a slightly more powerful computer than R.U.S.E, it is still just as good. For those who haven't played R.U.S.E, this game is a real-time strategy using Cold war era units. It doesn't have any buildings except for a supply depot so your units that you call in arrive from a road somewhere on an edge of the map, depending on which sectors you own and where you place the units. On what it is missing compared to R.U.S.E, it makes up for with helicopters, more advanced commands and many more units. 9.99999999999/10. The only thing this game is missing is naval units, that are in the sequel which i am yet to purchase.

Watched an entire unit of Soviet made T-34-85s modernized get butchered apart by a basic AI armed with French main battle tanks in basic configuration after charging down a central road on the map, then returned the favor by calling in enough air support to make the Luffwaffe envious on their units, and the matche ended with both sides in smoldering ruins.

10/10, Would employ Soviet tactics again.

Not sure why peeps are saying it's hard to learn... I found it very easy to learn.. but definately hard to master. Great RTS with modern military units and equipment.. For those who love to fantasise how a conventional World War 3 would have looked.. this is for you!

Airland Battle is very interessing RTS in the way it portraits distance, movement (one of the few games where retreat is a meanigful choice), resources (the way the game use supply for each unit and how you transport more to the frontlines) and small details. It can be overwhelming at first, due this very amount of details and lack of explanation, specially if you aren´t familiar with the military hardware of the period (I confess I know little about, so I do get very confused, but still its amazing game).
