Comprar The Riviera Line - Exeter - Paignton

My go to route for diesel trains, or even drag runs.

This route is very detailed and the stations are well designed and look realistic, the class 143 driving physics are great and give the user a good impression of the train. Overall very enjoyable route to drive, and some what a challege to drive with large drops in speed. So as you can imagine driving the route without the HUD is quite difficult. I have to admit I've over run stations alot when praticing driving the route. The seaside is very realistic having been to Devon before and seen it. However, the only draw back is the waves travelling through the whole route are very basic and not well modelled, you will see this in areas such as Starcross station.

The route is great. I reminds me of the Culumbia River Gorge, just slower ad has a lack of moutains. But honestly its worth it, ecpecialy if you are a railfan in Britain. But to be honest we have a train that looks just like the Class 143: its called a subay and it is not decorated nor does it have mutch structural safety due to the fact that it goes underground.

7/10 A good fun route to drive. Worth the money.

despite giving a recommend, I have a mixed review about this route. The route is very nice with stunning scenery seeing the english channel and always the iconic structure of the Dawlish wall. However, the negative about this route is without a doubt the wave. I mean I can guarentee you a 4 year old can design better wave than that. and the 143 pacer is a ugly and weird train to drive, overall the route is nice if you ignore the wave and the face you have to drive a bus train

An interesting route nonetheless with a good selection of missions to choose from- allowing for a steady introduction to more advanced and difficult scenarios.

The only downside I see to this is the Riviera line, to my understanding, comes in 2 different types- modern and old-school (My understanding may not be correct). As a result, kind of comes off as a rip-off when you can get the Riviera line with the new 2016 edition (I got TS in 2014).

Following this, my only grievances with this is the fact that I would expect with each years installment to auto-update any standard routes/careers they implement with each year turnaround, as a little bonus.

Don't get my wrong, it's a lovely route and add-on. To get your money's worth, best bet is to go with the dual-pack you can get the Class 159- which adds a few additional scenarios (x3).

Overall, decent, alright. But would appreciate it being an automatic feature/route added when they trasitioned from 2015 to 2016.

Disapointed - The route between Exter and Paignton is ok - the scenerios that come with it are not the greatest - there are few places where the scenery appears in double vission. The route also contiunes down past Paignton to Kingswear - except its not finished, the track floats in mid air (no bridges) theres tunnels with no tunnel entrance you just plough into the side of a hill, and ay the end there is not a station - why I have been spent money on an incomplete package?

I would definitely reccomend this route! Well worth the price. However there is one issue I would like to raise with DTG in relation to their announce ment of the TS2016. On its release today I neted they are advertising a fully scenic version down to Kinswear whereas people who paid full wack for the DLC only get the scenary as far as Paignton. Surely a free upgrade would be applicable!!!

amazing little route perfect for if you have an hour or two spare. as said the scenery is very accurate. my only gripe is that they have put the track bed in for the PDSR a local steam railway and about 2 miles if that out of paignton they have stopped the detailing and it's bare. but this aside i would recommend this game

A another welcome addition to the TS (Train Simulator) collection. Great waves at around stations near beaches and worth buying! For me, I can have a chance for me to create FGW scenarios like London Paddington to Paignton in multi parts. Comes with a Class 143 (it is based of a bus or you can call it a ex-bus or any kind of bus) and Class 43. For me, it can also be definately worth buying in a special sale.

What really impressed me besides the beautiful scenery, is the seashore and the surf the way it is created, I lived a few hundred feet from the Atlantic Ocean for a decade, and the surf on this route looks like the real thing. Lots of good scenarios for this route too. This is one of my favorite routes.

This is one lovely and probably one of the most detailed route DLCs available for RailWorks. It comes with 2 Locomotives, a Pacer and a HST, though I personally prefer the Pacer.
There's great detail to this which makes me wonder why it doesn't lag for me since the West Highland Line does lag for me a lot, but I do run on a laptop and do plan to upgrade in the future.
One of the best things about the locomotives is the sound and that the rail sounds (what people call the clickety-clack) isn't the standard one DTG uses and it adds to the realism of the DLC.
One of the main problems of this route, which is to do with the Pacer loco mainly, is that the doors close very slowly after the closing door beep, and although it's not a plroblem for me, it could be for some people (I'm not saying it is). The other problem with this though is in scenarios, the AI trains leave stations while the doors are closing, and frankly so do I xD, but some peoplemay not like that as it's not realistic, but I don't mind since I'm a victim of doing it.
I really like this route and recommend it to anyone, even at full price as it's worth it.

I'm not recommending this game for a few very good reasons and anyone that wishes to select it as not helpful or wish's to comment about that I'd kindly ask they read the entire thing before making judgement.

Bewlow you'll find my reasons for not recommending it yet at the same time I do also recommend it because some parts of it are beautiful! but for me a route should be realistic and if advertised as the Paignton route "should" include every single aspect of the route and not just some of it...

started in Exeter St. David's as this is where I was both born and raised in Real Life, and you know what? it looks nothing like Exeter, the station.. good job but I think they may have pulled it from the Bristol > Exeter route add on because to go to so much trouble to make the station recognizable and then leave out the city which it is in is a disgrace and not something I see a genuine or good map builder doing... hell even the back end (the Train Yard) is missing, Exeter consists of a superb Station in the middle of a field surrounded by random roads and about 1000 houses... they missed out a lot of landmark buildings to such as Exeter college on Hele Road up on the hill... on this? no College, no hill... not even the real roads!

Just earleir I had someone that was born and raised in St. Thomas and guess what? they said if I had not told them that the station was St. Thomas they'd have had no idea... REALLY?! on this one even the station does not look like St. Thomas...

Now onto why I also slightly recommend it... Starcross was amazing but lacking details.. hell Dawlish Warren and Dawlish were absolutely stunning, I'm not going to comment about Teignmouth or further afield as I'm not actually visited the stations in RL(Real Life) but I'm really disgusted that they call this the Paignton Route then completely fail half the route...

If I'd known this before hand I'm sorry to say I'd nothave bought it, I like my routes to be realistic and you know? just like the real dam route... that's why I don't recommend this... if they're going to build the Paignton Line then why cut corners at some of the main locations? why?

Hell at this point if the devs want to contact me I'll even take this and build Exeter as it should be and for free that's how annoyed I am at this... give me this DLC Route and I'll fix Exeter up as it should be!

If you're looking for a good South-West route that also is run by First Great Western then check out the Bristol to Exeter Route DLC below!

I'm giving this Add-On a 4/10, no I do not recommend and am classing this DLC as "INCOMPLETE" Thanks for your time!

Route Pros:
Nice length, not too long, and not too short...
Performs fairly well
Looks nice even on lowest graphics
comes with 6 career scenarios, and plenty of Workshop Scenarios.

Locomotive Pros:
Class 143 is seemingly well modeled
Good sounds
Nice two-tone horn
nice to drive, not very complicated
when the doors close, you get a nice guard to driver and driver to guard buzzer, with "C" button.

Overall, this is a great route! You would be a fool not to get this route, especially for 25 bucks! What are you waiting around waiting for, go buy it!!!!!
