About This Content

London-Faversham High Speed brings together the exhilaration of high speed trains with the more serene ‘classic’ third rail lines of Kent all in one route, complete with the streamlined Southeastern Class 395.

The newest high speed route in the UK opened fully in November 2007 with domestic commuter services beginning on the route in December 2009 from the stunning London St Pancras station into the heart of Kent.

Departing London St Pancras, the route for Train Simulator passes under the City with Class 395s reaching speeds of 140mph before stopping at Stratford International on the edge of the London 2012 Olympic Park. Speeding through the Essex countryside and under the River Thames, high speed services stop at Ebbsfleet International Station, where power switches from overhead electrification to third rail pick-up. From here, Class 395s cross onto the ‘classic’ Kent lines, pausing at stations including Gravesend, Rochester and Sittingbourne, before terminating at Faversham.

The Class 395 is one of the most advanced high speed passenger trains in the UK and the fleet was built by Hitachi, famous for their Japanese bullet trains and on which the Class 395 was based. The model is capable of fast acceleration and deceleration to minimise travelling time, a feature of the bullet trains, and run on dual voltage systems for overhead and third rail pick up. The Class 395 is also unique in being able to run under TVM430 track-to-train signalling on the high speed section of the route and traditional aspect signalling on the ‘classic’ section.

The Southeastern Class 395 for Train Simulator features extensive internal and external detailing, including full start-up procedure, in-cab lighting, passenger view, roof detailing with working fans, driver vigilance system, accurate overheard catenary, trackside detailing including AWS boxes and ramps, and up to the minute signalling on the ‘classic’ route.

London-Faversham High Speed is an accurate depiction of a fantastic modern image UK route with stunning scenery through the Kent countryside, accurate depictions of London St Pancras Station, Ebbsfleet International Station, Rochester Castle and Cathedral, and the QEII Bridge at Dartford, and many hours of enjoyable and challenging driving.

The Class 395 is officially licensed by Southeastern and has been produced with the kind help and cooperation of Hitachi Rail Europe.

A very good piece of DLC - even though it is actually a combination of 3 routes (HS1, North Kent Line and Chatham Main Line) but overall it is a nice full route drive. The class 395 is one of the most detalied trains on the game and well worth a good drive. Class 375 is exactly the same as the 377 but will different livery. The class 466 is also very realistic but the horn is wrong. It's not worth the full £25 but good value in a sale.

Okay, first things first, this is a very good route, with smooth track, and good scenarios for the 395.

Bad:
No scenarios for the class 375, which is a bummer.
Can not use on my computer, some sort of compatibility issues which cause extreme framerate drop.

Otherwise, yes, i would recommend this route...

Got this level a while ago. As part of a bundle when upgrading TS2014.

It's a good train, with an fantastic line, that has lot's of diffrent aspects to it, from high speed, to low 15-30mph sections. Which keep the line interesting to drive.

All scenario's work, no problems with timing, lighting, AI, etc.

The train is good, in cab is good fun. The change over system, for going from OHL to Third Rail, is very easy to use, once mastered. There is also a good scenario / level teaching you how to do this. Good aspect from DTG there. You all get an extra train, for free that can be used in QD and other scenario's if you own the line. So there is a good added bonus from DTG there.

Is it worth list price? Does it give value for money at list price?

What about discounted, or in a sale? What about a bundle?? Yes if that's available DTG are giving you even better value for money.

YES. If you like this train, then you can have hours of fun with it in QD on OHL lines and DC lines. If you own them.

Is it's a good asset to your fleet of trains. Cracking train to drive at high speed on long runs. Also with the extra free train, that also comes into play for you in QD on your other lines.

There is one small downside, when running QD from Faversham to London, the real time clock is not working, though this does not de-tract from the fun to be had. So please do not let that, stop you from purchasing this add-on.

Well worth it, Enjoy....

A fantastic route! I love the contrast between the low and high speed sections. It's also very detailed, and the class 395 is a great train.

Finally the UK has a high speed route, which is always fun to drive due to it's massive diversity. It seems lacking without a Eurostar though, can someone reskin the ICE3 into a Class 374?

The best train simulator DLC. If this goes 75% off again during this summer sale, pick it up. The map is cool, but the best thing about it is the train. It has some great new mechanics that make it both easier, yet more challenging to drive than most of the trains in vanilla TS2013. The in-train dashboard matters a whole lot more now, unlike most other trains where you can be in outside view the entire time. But because of this, if you're the type who play with your camera way up in the sky for the views, this DLC may not be the best for you.

High-speed rail in England. Somewhat a confusing concept.

Train commands hard to remember at first, but you soon get the hand of them.

AI(Artificial Intelligence) Class 395's Pantograph is not raised when it runs on HS1 route. Driver controlled 395 does not have this problem.
On Sheerness Branch Line, 3rd rail pickup shoe of course should be used. However, on HS1 route, the pantograph must be raised!
Please fix this issue, and I'll wait for the feedback.
