Star Conflict has come a LONG way since Open-Beta. PVP was never my thing, but is super fun and rewarding. PVE scenarios have improved and are extremely fun. This is not World of Planes, or Warthunder, where you're limited to one orientation plane, disorientation is easy, but getting lost is rather dificult. Graphics are amazing, no shortage of explosions, lasers, plasma slugs, and missiles. Customize your ships to fit your playstyle, or outfit something to play what its not supposed to do. I'm loving the Engeneering Frigates, though slow, these are massive damage sponges built to survive an all out barrage of enemy fire. Fit with Mass Shield Generators and repair drones, your team is almost invincible. You just have to shoot the pesky Pirates fast enough to not get swarmed. The Fighter ships are super maneuverable, and getting into trouble is fairly easy to do, destroying your enemies is definately a challenge, the rewards are worth the risk. Don't be afraid to die, repairs aren't that costly, and three tier missions guarantee you don't sit through much "downtime".
Is it the same as other games? It has similarities to other games, it has its own characteristics that make it unique to the point where I don't load it up and think I'm playing clone of some other game. There are ship tiers, each needing to be unlocked, though not as long as some of World of Tanks' tech trees, your ships gain survivability as you level them up. Playing in a true 3D where up is not just whatevers above your head, you're given true freedom to fly however you like.

Worth it? Yes
Still going to be playing in 2 or 3 years?
