O tej grze

Zeno Clash is an action/fighting game set in a punk fantasy world. The game is played from a first person perspective and the combat is generally up close and brutal.
Experience a deep storyline set in a fantastic world. Play the role of Ghat, a man banished by his own brothers and forced to begin a desperate journey past the forbidden desert and to the end of the world.
Nominated in 'Excellence in Visual Art' at the Independent Games Festival, the original visuals, which make full use of the Source engine features, breathe new air in the fantasy game genre. The new close combat mechanics are also a deviation from traditional action in the first-person genre that will feel fresh for new and veteran players.
  • Engaging melee combat in first person
The new melee combat system allows players to perform a variety of movements like deflect & elude combos, knockback finisher punches and punishing grab attacks. Learn new attacks as the game progresses and confronts you with more formidable foes.
  • Fantastic visuals powered by the Source engine
Players will be immersed in a fantastic world, beautiful and disturbing at the same time. The unprecedented art style brings a fresh new approach to the first person genre. The surreal environments and characters will keep players wanting to discover more.
  • Survival mode challenges
Jump right into the action in engaging unlockable "tower challenges". The player must overcome enemy waves to progress through the tower levels. The game will rate the player in different categories like speed and performance. A leaderboards system will rank you against your friends, so the challenge never ends.
  • Deep storyline
Players will play the role of Ghat; the son of a impressive hermaphrodite creature called Father-Mother, whose children form the most powerful clan in the city of Halstedom. Ghat must escape from his family and start an incredible journey with his female companion Deadra, who will aid him in the dangerous lands of Zenozoik.
  • Bizarre weapons
The game features an unusual arsenal of eccentric weapons that are built from scraps and junk. Hammers and clubs will be the most effective when fighting heavy characters that can only be brought down with extreme force.
  • The Zeno Clash Model Pack for Garry's Mod
The pack includes 70 models with the characters and creatures to be used with the popular Source engine mod Garry's Mod. "This is a great addition to the existing library of assets and we really hope the fans will enjoy the content and start developing their own Zeno Clash inspired videos, screens or machinima." says Andres Bordeu from ACE Team. Zeno Clash owners can download the free DLC from the Tools tab in their Steam client.

- Review below ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Zeno Clash is a unique game in its genre : a first person fighter - beat-them-all set in a tribal punk fantasy world. You play as Ghat all along his journey exiled from his tribe through the end of the world. Helped by his sister he will face many opponents and dangers to survive along his exile : that will includes many brothers and sisters of his own Father-Mother (an hermaphrodite creature) as well as a hired head-hunter, the Corwid of the Free's tribe and many critters.

But Ghat isn't weak at all, quite the contrary, he is really strong despite his thin shape. He also learned how-to fight with Metamoq the chief of Corwid of the Free. So he knows how to fight using his fists or melee or gun weapons.

The game features levels, meaning that there is no at lot to explore but there are many brawls and fights to come through. Despite that, there are many new environments and concepts to make the game quite interesting. Also each level are independent meaning that weapons you had at the end of a level won't be transferred to the next level. (Unless the bombs are but I'm not sure) So as you understood each level as its own weapons, enemies and fruits in specific places. The game consists in exploring (a little) and fighting/brawling waves of foes and bosses. The HUD is very simple : you got your own portrait with your health and stamina bars. Every time you run or prepare a strong attack you use stamina which will be restored slowly. And don't be afraid for your health bar running low, there are always some fruits that give you some health back as well as some checkpoint that restore you whole health ! The HUD show you also the remaining bombs you got.

Adding to the story mode there is also a challenge mode. Challenges take place in a tower, split in two area : the top and the bottom. If you are going in the top you are going to fight many foes on each level using the given weapons or not (you can brawl instead most of the time) to reach the top level which include the story boss as well as many foes at the same time ! If you are going at the bottom, you'll need to fight foes and make you way below by jumping platform by platform using bombs if needed to break a whole platform to make a hole. But don't forget to take care of every foe cause you won't go deeper until you dealt with all of them. So you can push them all in the pit below but you'll need to face all the survivors at the end. Also when you'll go deeper you'll encounter golden enemies which are more powerful and tougher. Each level can be played independently so it's not a real survival game. At the end of each challenge you'll be in the leaderboard with the time you've made and the remaining health. So you can compete with your friends on steam.

That's not all : you have also 70 Zeno Clash characters and foes patterns for Garry's Mod.

I would really recommend this game !

(*): A very uncommon issue happened to me in the Corvid of the Free forest : after I've beat up every foe the game keep playing without occurring the next wave. But after waiting / moving several minutes the next wave appeared.

(#): I would say almost every achievement can be backtracked and several of them are kept while making another playthrough or replaying some levels. Only one "difficult" achievement requires you to play the whole story from the beginning to the end using weapons when you really need to. There are a lot of information on steam or elsewhere that explains when you need to use weapons or not. If you used one by mistake you can still kill yourself and try the current level but if you forgot to this playthrough will not count.

I've never ever felt so good in my entire life to bash people (and other kinds of humanoids) in their ugly faces.
Much recommanded for adrenaline seekers, especially if you're looking for first person games to play with Trinus VR.
Story is great, the world is crazy and original, and the humor is wicked.

If you like the idea of beating up a walking Salvador Dali painting (and like fantastic replayable fighting mechanics) get this game. The world is bizarre and unique, I loved every minute of it.

I would seriously recommend this game to anyone thats looking for a fun (albiet linear and shortish) game.

This game is wall to wall lunacy.

And, I don't mean that this game's character of lunacy falls in the realm of the absurd, as would examples of British humor, or off-the-wall cartoons. In those cases, there's a shape to the weirdness, and the force of it is usually softened with winking humor.

No, this game could be the work of an earnest schizophrenic. From the story, to character design, to environments, to the basic "rules" of the world within - anything to do with its presentation - the game is invested whole hog in seriously conveying its particularly vivid malaria dream of an experience. It can be a little unhinging, even creepy at times.

The factor of punching and kicking people continuously is far and away the most grounded and familiar part of the game. Beating people up is your anchor to normalcy, here.

Par example - look at any character. Pay attention to their back-stories. Look at the little details in them. Look at the endless weird ♥♥♥♥ in the environment.

Or, more directly, consider - Why does every animal in this game have a fairly detailed b u t t h o l e? Someone was in charge of that. Marinate on that for a minute.

I could write for far too long and not begin to inventory the long list of odd things in this game.

And, to make absolutely clear my position about all this - it all unites into something thoroughly, seriously awesome. This game is boundlessly inventive. It's colorful and wild to look at. You won't be bored with whatever it is you're witnessing, unless you're a total wet blanket about such things.

The gameplay, by contrast, is relatively simple and straightforward, for the most part - a good thing. It's centered largely around the game's bouts of melee combat, which play with different elements at times, such as the introduction of weapons or required strategies (the Chneero fight is fun).
There are a handful of levels and stretches of game that stray from the kicky punch fights into other mechanics, such as some featherweight puzzles or objectives (hunting for food, because why not). There is also one odd track shooting level. These are fun, and none detract from the bread and butter of hitting things.

There are guns to be found, but they are modest ones, and offer realistically small advantages. Enemies can cover a lot of ground by running. If you're surrounded, trying to shoot your way out, you're surrounded.
Furthermore, using guns in this game just doesn't offer the same satisfaction as will a slick dodge of your enemy, followed by a well-timed, well-placed series of thudding punches to the head - the head of a guy wearing a giant eye, horns, a loin cloth that must be glued or stapled on, and blood. It's worth it just to get up close.
Fighting in this game is satisfying in feeling like a real fight. You'll have a challenging battle against any one enemy, rather than the more typical experience of sawing through a dozen without thinking about it.

The controls work just about perfectly to implement the numerous maneuvers and moves you have at your disposal. Combos of quick attacks, heavy attacks, directional variants, blocks and stunning deflects, dodges and counters. A running elbow to the throat, followed by a hard overhand right, grabbing your stunned enemy to knee in the face and toss into the second guy attacking you, then to turn and position yourself on the third target, ready to box. You'll fight tactically, and it's satisfying watching your movements turn an enemy's attack against them.
It can be a little wild, even unwieldy at times, but suitably so for a three-on-one melee. That situation can be ramped up into delicious carnage if someone should happen to get ahold of a bone club.

There's plenty to shoot for with achievement challenges, and the tower and pit levels add plenty to the number of people ("people") for you to punch in the face.

It's a weird ton of fun.

TL;DR - A satisfying tactical first-person melee combat game with a story, characters, and a world something akin to pro wrestling and various obscure ancient mythologies all getting their DNA stewed together in a dream that Hideo Kojima had while coming out from general anaesthesia.

Batshit fun / 10.

Having played this game for the first time in 2016, I can say this hasn't aged well. The combat isn't satisfying, the controls feel loose, and the textures just weren't doing it for me.

I love the idea this game puts forth, it's just the execution is lacking.

One of the most intriguing and innovative games I've played in a long time.
The plot is good, and both the pacing and encounters are well done.
I played it with a 360 controller (should be able to find a thread detailing how to enable it by searching a bit) and it made it a lot more enjoyable.
This is a colourful and creative game which you wont forget easily, unless you're one of the braindead types who seem to dislike this game. 8/10

To naprawdę krótka produkcja.
