About This Game

The Stanley Parable is a first person exploration game. You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will follow a story, you will not follow a story. You will have a choice, you will have no choice. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. This world was not made for you to understand.

But as you explore, slowly, meaning begins to arise, the paradoxes might start to make sense, perhaps you are powerful after all. The game is not here to fight you; it is inviting you to dance.

Based on the award-winning 2011 Source mod of the same name, The Stanley Parable returns with new content, new ideas, a fresh coat of visual paint, and the stunning voicework of Kevan Brighting. For a more complete and in-depth understanding of what The Stanley Parable is, please try out the free demo.

"The Stanley Parable" is your everyday office job. Except Stanley (you) is all alone. And there's a narrator. And the narrator f***s with Stanley's life.

That's the game. A walking simulator and so far the most exciting and best I've played so far. And that's saying a lot for a game that takes place in an office environment instead of a fantasy world or something.

I do not dare to tell more about the game since the fun thing is to explore for yourself. Do not watch YouTube videos about the several outcomes in advance. Do not read walkthroughs in the beginning. Just explore for yourself, look for variety in the story. And learn that the biggest enemy of a hero sometimes is the storyteller itself. I recommend "The Stanley Parable".

Then I'm only left with the controls, graphics, sound, humour, suspense...all is great, also it's conceivably easy to control.

Short game with many different endings and possibilities. Whatever you do, the game reacts to you.

I thought I had finished the game but no... it tricked me. It only gave me a long ending to show me how ignorant I was to the world around me.

You can bend and break the rules but are you ready to face the consequences? Nobody is invulnerable.

What the heck am I talking about? You'll have to play the game to find out! :)

This game stinks of creativity and we need more like it. You'll keep coming back to do things different to get different results and when you think you're smarter than it and get somewhere you thought you weren't supposed to get to, you realize you were led there by the developers. Really smart with great Portal kind of humor.

A very short game... If you're a sheep.

This game is very special, you can spend as much as 4 minutes and a bit or a few hours on this game. It's a kind of game that plays with the illusion of choice.

What this game does is that it takes the 4th Wall, straps 20lbs of C4 to it, adds a sprinkle of thermite and lets it rip. But wait it ain't done with the 4th Wall yet oh no. It then fires 163613 jackhammers out of a cannon and a squirrel at it until that wall ceases to exist anymore. Donald Trump doesn't stand a chance against this game.

You play as Stanley, or should I say "Employee No. 427". You sit in front of your 1980's era DOS interface CRT monitor and wait for instructions on which buttons to push on the keyboard. You are one of a plethora of generic employees who work for a corporation. What kind of corporation? I still have no clue. It kinda reminds me of the "1984" ad by Apple for their Macintosh.

You are given instructions to follow by the narrator (a very amusing narrator I may add) of the game, but listening and conforming to those instructions is up to you, which also mean the consequences that follow for each instruction followed (or should I say not followed) are your responsibilty.

It seems extremely linear at first, but once you realise you are the one controlling Stanley and not the narrator, the possibilities are endless.

I aqcuired this game in the Summer Steam Sale for €2.39.

Is it worth it? Yes

Is it up to you to decide if it is? Abso-****ing-lutely

My rating? 7.5/10

After reading all these reviews Stanley thought he MUST buy this game

He was wondring why he's still scrolling

He decided to stop scrolling

Stanley was blind and accidently bought a computer, downloaded Steam, clicked on Stanley Parable, read all reviews, stopped scrolling and then clicked Add to Cart

This won't give you an achievement

Stanley knew nothing was going to happen if he kept scrolling
