About This Game

The Stanley Parable is a first person exploration game. You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will follow a story, you will not follow a story. You will have a choice, you will have no choice. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. This world was not made for you to understand.

But as you explore, slowly, meaning begins to arise, the paradoxes might start to make sense, perhaps you are powerful after all. The game is not here to fight you; it is inviting you to dance.

Based on the award-winning 2011 Source mod of the same name, The Stanley Parable returns with new content, new ideas, a fresh coat of visual paint, and the stunning voicework of Kevan Brighting. For a more complete and in-depth understanding of what The Stanley Parable is, please try out the free demo.

Review of The Stanley Parable

I simply love this game. I love the narator and I love the story or shoud I say stories in this game. It's brilliant how you can f**k with the narrator's story and how he can f**k with you back. There are so many easter eggs to figure out and had a blast doing it. I really wish it was longer. Developers, If by any chance you are reading this please make the game at a scale of 10-15 hours. I would seriosly play 60€ for this, as this game puts a smile on my face like no other . Yes it is short, but I loved the genius put into this. Buy this game guys! Overal this isn't a 10/10 for gameplay, but a 10/10 for story and entertainment.

Make sure you play both the demo and the full game!!!

How to explain this game? Thats hard... just play the demo all through. THAT explains it. And even then the game still wont make sense till you've played it enough. Do me a favor will you? At least try the demo and if you thoroughly enjoy it like i did, play the full game. I had a different experience with both. Think of those pick-a-path books, every variable can change the destination, this game is like that and it makes playing it over and over amusing.

I have a challenge for all of you: Who can record every single bit of dialog the Narrator says? Cos im sure you're gonna be recording for hours upon hours. But wait theres more! The challenge is finding where all the hidden dialog is too!

Lovely little gem
Well done Galactic Cafe, well done

I'm going to give this game a yes. Even though the duration of the experience is quite short, the experience, as I'm sure has been mentioned before, is something of an anomaly. It is, for lack of better words, or abundance of, a unique trip down a route never taken. And while, like many games, I find myself saying, oh what if this had happened, or what if that had been thought of, I still have to say that a lot of it really satisfied a part of me that I never thought would have been by a game. But calling it a game is perhaps a bit of a stretch. It's an anti-game. It's something that takes you by the horns and never lets go. Give it a shot. Highly recommended if on sale. Still recommended somewhat if not.

Great idea, but poor execution. All you do is walk around and listen to narration.

Short game with many different endings and possibilities. Whatever you do, the game reacts to you.

I thought I had finished the game but no... it tricked me. It only gave me a long ending to show me how ignorant I was to the world around me.

You can bend and break the rules but are you ready to face the consequences? Nobody is invulnerable.

What the heck am I talking about? You'll have to play the game to find out! :)

Is this a real game? Yes? No? Maybe?

Such a nice game!

  • It is a short but enjoyable game
  • There're multiple endings
  • Narrator's voice is so nice
  • Developers have an awesome sense of humor
  • Amazing narrator - Player interaction
  • Not an easy perfect game but... Oh man the achievements <3

If you want to get the perfect game... Check this very useful guide and good luck.

After reading all these reviews Stanley thought he MUST buy this game

He was wondring why he's still scrolling

He decided to stop scrolling

Stanley was blind and accidently bought a computer, downloaded Steam, clicked on Stanley Parable, read all reviews, stopped scrolling and then clicked Add to Cart

This won't give you an achievement

Stanley knew nothing was going to happen if he kept scrolling

This game stinks of creativity and we need more like it. You'll keep coming back to do things different to get different results and when you think you're smarter than it and get somewhere you thought you weren't supposed to get to, you realize you were led there by the developers. Really smart with great Portal kind of humor.
