About This Game

The Stanley Parable is a first person exploration game. You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will follow a story, you will not follow a story. You will have a choice, you will have no choice. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. This world was not made for you to understand.

But as you explore, slowly, meaning begins to arise, the paradoxes might start to make sense, perhaps you are powerful after all. The game is not here to fight you; it is inviting you to dance.

Based on the award-winning 2011 Source mod of the same name, The Stanley Parable returns with new content, new ideas, a fresh coat of visual paint, and the stunning voicework of Kevan Brighting. For a more complete and in-depth understanding of what The Stanley Parable is, please try out the free demo.

Best ending goes to the broom closet ending, no contest there.

Whoa...
What makes The Stanley Parable such a great game?
It requires no skill.
You only use basic wasd movement.
Graphics are decent at best.
It is not long.
The Stanley Parable's one and only selling point is it's story. But man, it is one hell of a story (or rather, stories). You basically begin the game in the same setting every time. However, there are points in the game where you are forced to make a decision. These choices will ultimately lead you down different paths with vastly unique stories. It felt like there was deeper meaning behind each storyline, that there was a different lesson being taught as a consequence of your actions. Maybe I read too much into it, but it sure as hell impressed me.
The Stanley Parable will blow your mind.

Oh, and the narrator is incredible.

Review of The Stanley Parable

I simply love this game. I love the narator and I love the story or shoud I say stories in this game. It's brilliant how you can f**k with the narrator's story and how he can f**k with you back. There are so many easter eggs to figure out and had a blast doing it. I really wish it was longer. Developers, If by any chance you are reading this please make the game at a scale of 10-15 hours. I would seriosly play 60€ for this, as this game puts a smile on my face like no other . Yes it is short, but I loved the genius put into this. Buy this game guys! Overal this isn't a 10/10 for gameplay, but a 10/10 for story and entertainment.

Cleverly written and humorous game narrated by the incredibly talented Kevan Brighting. It's short but requires several playthroughs to discover all the possible outcomes for Stanley.

Don't forget to knock on door 430 five times. 10/10

The Stanly Parable is an amazing game, there are so many ways to complete it. The narrator makes it funny, that's if you don't do what he tells you, but it is a really good game.

Very creative game. clever writting filled with surprises. Really gives players a sense of "choice" for their own ending. However, this is a game that can only be played once for a few hours. Once you know the ending(s), there isn't anything worth replaying the game for unless you love walking in an endless cycle.

Is it worth full price? No. But this game is definitely worth experiencing if it is on sale.

There has and never will be anything quite like The Stanley Parable. I've never had such a deeply emotional responce to a video game before and I doubt anything will ever come close to this work or art's existensial questioning. It is an amazing testament to how far gaming has come, moving beyond jumping on gumbas or shooting zombies to something of such an unparalleled meta-game. Thank you Galactic Cafe, Thank you.

This game is very interesting, every time you play it you do something different. It also gets you thinking about your life and the decisions we make (or someone makes). You just have to play to understand, it's hard to explain.

It's all about the writting and the writting is great. It's all very meta and the humour is spot on.

This game is the Go-to if you want a sort ''break the fourth wall'' thing. Sometimes it seems that you have the choice of doing whatever you want but everything is meant to make you Believe that even if it is not the case. Anyway, fantastic game!

He knew very well that looking for the perfect review was a waste of time. Internally he had already made the decision but he fooled himself into reading another review. This one was a little different however and it made him question the use of reading all these reviews and prolonging the moment right before he would play The Stanley Parabel.
