O tej grze

The Stanley Parable is a first person exploration game. You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will follow a story, you will not follow a story. You will have a choice, you will have no choice. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. This world was not made for you to understand.

But as you explore, slowly, meaning begins to arise, the paradoxes might start to make sense, perhaps you are powerful after all. The game is not here to fight you; it is inviting you to dance.

Based on the award-winning 2011 Source mod of the same name, The Stanley Parable returns with new content, new ideas, a fresh coat of visual paint, and the stunning voicework of Kevan Brighting. For a more complete and in-depth understanding of what The Stanley Parable is, please try out the free demo.

Al went into his office and wrote a positive review for The Stanley Parable.

"The game is a piece of fecal matter spread all over the computer screen," is not a positive way to describe the game, and Al knew this perfectly well.

And yet Al continued to write mean and repugnant comments, not giving a monkey's about who he might hurt.

Al slammed hard down on the enter key and sat back in his chair. A great sense of pride appeared on Al's face, satisfied by the distasteful review he had just written.

Al left work shortly after and had his favourite meal before he went off to bed.

The next day Al was found dead in his bedroom from unknown causes. If only he wrote a positve review of The Stanley Parable, he may have lived to see another day.

The Stanley Parable is a cynical take on game narrative and hodological structure. Its wit lies in the player’s “choice” – that is, if the player lets the narrator make choices for him. Or not …?

Unlike any other game, The Stanley Parable makes you walk through your choices many times, and you’ll wonder why you made them. The narrator will make sure of it.

A review for lazy people:

This game is absolutely hilarious. The voice of the narrator is amazing and the number of choices you can make, for which the narrator will always have something to say about, is impressive.

I bought this game on a whim during summer sale because it was so cheap and the comments were great, I couldn't be more happy about it. Great game, great experience and a lot of time spent with a smile on my face.

I recommend this game to EVERYONE. Just click that buy button and play this gem. I loved it.

The Stanley Parable is about a man, called Stanley, who sits in an office pushing buttons all day. On one particular day however, he does not get any prompts and wonders why. From here, Stanley embarks on an adventure to find out what has happened to his colleges.

The game itself is simple, to the point where you can't even jump (not that you need to). It consists largely of offices and rooms based around a work environment. Stanley (you) is not alone on this adventure however, as someone called "the narrator" instructs Stanley on what to do and pushes forward a story.

This is where the fun comes in, since Stanley does not have to follow what the narrator tells him to do and instead can choose to follow his own paths and explore elsewhere. Of course, this upsets the narrator a lot and causes them to give out humourous remarks or those of frustration from Stanley's incompetence. The way the narrator works is certainly an interesting one, and no matter how many playthroughs done hearing them never gets dull.

The playability of this game is large, due to having multiple endings. When I say multiple, I do mean A LOT in this case. You will find yourself playing the game over and over in order to try and discover all the endings and varients of those endings, and it's worth it. The game's layout of the offices also change occasionally too, meaning it feels fresh just to start the game.

Now, the game itself is built on the Source engine. What this means is that the console found in games such as Team Fortress 2 and Gmod is present here too. Things are not as they seem though, and I shall not dive into them here.

Not only is The Stanley Parable a fun, humourous, and intruiging game to play, but the developer is also pretty rad from what I've heard - which is a bonus for those looking to support decent game developers as well as have a good game to play.

The Stanley Parable is definitely a game worthy of playing. Quite a lot of thought and detail has gone into it and it shows with spectacular results. If you are still unsure, take the game for a spin by downloading and playing the demo first.

Stanley read some reviews. He felt weird, after hearing a voice in his head describing what he was doing. Still, Stanley kept reading it. Wonderful, he thought. And, after having to decide if the review he was reading was helpful or not, he chose "Yes". After that, Stanley pressed the button labeled "Funny".

This is a story about a man named Stanley. Stanley uses Steam client to buy games to play. The games he played does not contain a game named The Stanley Parable. Stanley had seen the 'Very Positive' user ratings and promotional videos. He then scrolls down to the bottom where he can read user reviews. All the user reviews does not contain anything related to the game. Stanley feels strangely curious about the game. He read and read the review but he just couldn't understand what the game is about. He then decided to buy this game. After all, spending few dollars would not cost him a leg.
...
...
...
But after he read this review, he decided not to buy it now. After all, there are more interesting games out there. Look at those wishlish Stanley had kept since back before. Oh c'mon! Look at those positive reviews! Does all the positive reviews could not convince Stanley to buy?

Would a review containing score convince Stanley to buy this game?
10/10 best game ever?

Does Stanley even need to read this review to buy this game?

This is a review about a man named Stanley. Stanley is a man that loves to play good video games. He enjoys playing just about everything, from shooting lots of things, to solving puzzles, to driving fast cars. Years ago he stumbled upon a Half Life 2 mod called "The Stanley Parable" which he looked at the screenshots with much attention. The page did not give much info out on what the game really was. Confused on how everyone that played it, said he should play it immediately! Thinking nothing of it, Stanley continued on and did not play the mod.

Few years later, Stanley logs onto Steam and heads to the front page of the Store. The first thing he sees is a giant banner that says "The Stanley Parable Now Available!" Stanley was confused on how such a thing was on Steam, which it was only a Mod. So Stanley checked out the store page. He first checked out the videos and screenshots. He was still confused on what the game actually was. He noticed that there was a demo available, so Stanley downloaded the demo, to give the game a shot. After all, he was tired of playing games with the younger kids screaming into their mics saying that they "Did his mom last night" and other inappropriate comments.

An hour later, Stanley finished the demo. He was so confused on what he had experienced, and oddly very happy about it as well. Without hesitation, Stanley purchased the game and started playing "The Stanley Parable."

The game made Stanley question so many things in his life.
What is this game?
Do I really have a choice?
How does this game know?
Who is this Narrator?
Why is his voice so amazing?
Why is this game so funny?
Why have I spent over 20 hours playing it?
What is Life?
What is Love?
Why are you still reading this?

Stanley could not really answer this, for he could not think of the right words to say. The experiences he had while playing this game was nothing he had experienced before. Knowing why everyone else kept telling him to play it, he now understands. Trying to tell other people to play it? Well... That is where YOUR choice begins...

Pros:
- If you played the game already, you probably read the entire review in the Narrator's voice.
- Extremely cleverly made. (Unlike this review.)
- Hilarious most of the time.
- By far the best Walking Simulator ever created (and I hate most games like that.)
- Kevan Brighting's voice is godly.
- Multiple "Endings"
- Adventure Line.
- 8888888888888888888888888888888
- You push buttons.
- The choice is a lie.
- The Broom Closet.

Cons:
- Might be a bit pricey for some people.
- It IS a walking simulator, some people may not like those games at all.
- Not so simple achievements (to do legit.)
- There is 1 ending that requires 4 hours to get.
- You can experience most of the game in 6 hours, unless you really look around and pay attention to the little details.

Seriously though, give the Demo a try. The Demo is it's own experiance that does not spoil ANYTHING about the main game. If you enjoyed that then buy the game.

From 1 to 10, I'd rate this game at... π².
Why not a 10, you might ask. Well, it's not a 10 because dunno, giving 10 to random games sound like a cliché.
I mean, I didn't put a round and simple 10 because of... uhh... Yes, you know... The... The... Price! Yes, because of the price! I mean, this beauty shouldn't be so cheap, I'd pay all the wallet funds I have at this exact moment when I'm writing this (3 cents) to the game developers, they really deserve it.

Here's a list of things I liked from the game and another list of the things I disliked:

Things I liked:
- The Narrator's voice. Ahh, listening him talk gives an ear-ection.
- The great amount of choices we can do in the game.
- The lack of a fourth wall.
- God, that music when you're doing the con--SPOILERS!
- That jumpscare when you accidentally close the door of your office thrice.
- The grand diversity of endings there are.
- Some other reason that everyone thought and said.
- The amount of things I liked.
- The amount of things I disliked.

Things I disliked:
- Not knowing the path to follow to reach that great ending we all know and love yet I don't want to google it.

Yeah, it was that good. Good enough to make me actually install it and play it for at least 10 minutes.

Thanks to my dear friend Atwa (aka SteelR), I was granted the opportunity to enjoy this little gem.
Thank you my friend ;)

Walking simulator at its best with original idea and gameplay. Father of a genre! Also featuring one of the best narrator in the gaming history, neck to neck with Wheatley and GlaDOS from Portal 2. One of those rare games that will make you ask questions and question your action, your choice and the game itself.

Stanley Parable is a living playable "statement" about making games, playing games, players freedom and games narrative.
