About This Game

Super Hexagon is a minimal action game by Terry Cavanagh, with music by Chipzel.

Important facts about Hexagons:

  • Hexagons are first order permutohedrons: The vertices of a hexagon can be formed by permuting the coordinates of the vector (1, 2, 3).
  • The north pole of the planet Saturn has a hexagonal storm cloud pattern with 8,600 mile long sides, larger than the diameter of Earth.
  • Though hexagon may appear to be a difficult word to rhyme, there are actually dozens of words that rhyme with it. For example: Autobahn, decagon, decathlon, electron, Kyrgzstan, Lebanon, leprechaun and marathon.

Don't let my meager "time played" in this game fool you. Super Hexagon is one of my favorite mobile games and while it's great on PC I just prefer playing on my phone. This is a Terry Cavanagh game so you can expect the familiar EGA 8-bit visuals, catchy chiptunes (by Chipzel), and oh my god so hard masocore gameplay. Still, no matter how much this game hits you the face with failure states you still keep playing "just once more" because you believe you can do better. It's a simple, vibrant, brilliant game for a really low price, so yes, go play Super Hexagon.

"Survive the deadly spinning swirl for at least 60 secs"

Quite challenging quick reactions game. The one sided opened hexagons flow in concentric circles to the center where you little triangle shouldn't confront them. Distracting rotations and color changes don't make it easier. There are random pattern modes like line, triangle, square and pentagon. Holdout 1 min and the stage is clear. After you beat all 3 stages there comes the "hypermode" which is the even more "hardestest". You must also deal with the 8bit drum'n'bass soundtrack.
