Great story. I love art style in this game, it's unique.

This game offers you a marvelous hidden object puzzle because in this game, every object you found have their purpose to use for obtain the last item that you are really need. You can see that many games come with hidden object game which I have no idea why I have to find them but not in this game for sure.

It was a pretty good game. Graphics were great, people actually had good voiceover and the characters had really good face expressions. The Hidden Object Scenes are quite different from the usual ones, because you always need to find something physically there, and you have to use that item on another one. This is actually a good feat, because there is no longer a "find a beachball because why not" situation - if someone prefers this, the added realism can help.
Some problems with the game that don't make it broken or bad, but can be annoying / can't really explain why are they implemented in the way they are:
-Can't play in windowed mode because my resolution (1366*768) apparently too low for it. Also, there is a button for widescreen that doesn't work.
-You need to collect gold coins during the game to buy some items, like bird food. At the end you need 12 gold pieces to open a train's door (or something like that) First of all, why the hell 12? When you find out you need 12 you have 5, maybe 7. So the game starts to shove money down on your throat, there is a scene when you find two. Also, you'll have to re-visit the first few screens (No backtracing, you end up in a loop) when some coins magically appeared since you were there (the city is under lockdown and almost empty). Also, you need to click the coin near your inventory, then insert to the door-machine-thingy. 12 times.
There are boxes in game which needed their screws / nails to be removed. It's actually random that you need to click once on each one, or click 4 times on the box. Little difference and no big deal, but I don't know why are two different ways in the game.
After all it's a nice HOG with really nice graphics, but it's really short (3 hours indeed) and the ending is really forced, like the example with the gold coins. Suddenly you need and will find a coin on every scene while midgame there was one every 3-4 scenes, and this really makes me feel like the game's ending is rushed.
I DO recommend it, but only on a sale - or can be a fantastic deal in a bundle. But 14€ is a lot of money for a game that offers half as content as other HOGs at half at this price.

This game is a great blend of hidden object, point & click, adventure, and puzzle. It's pretty short (I finished in one session lasting just 2.7 hours). The game draws you in with a great story line, and the more you go into it the more you can't wait to find out what happens next. The voice acting is excellent, the cutscences are well made, and the artwork is pretty good too. The hint system is setup so that you can't just repeatedly press the hint button. However, there is a walkthrough in the game just under the hint button that tells you absolutely everything you need to do and in what order. It's a little steep at $14, probably more around the $5 range (the devs are obviously proud of the game, and rightfully so). Unlike other reviewers, I didn't experience any of the crashing or bugs that gave this game low marks in the past.

- Excellent story line
- Excellent voice acting
- Good artwork
- Solid blend of game genres
- Easy, but not so simple its boring.

- Some of the scenes are simply unrealistic
- Some of the items you manipulate in game would NEVER work the same way in real life
- Short gameplay
- A bit expensive
- No replay value

Five pros and five cons, but this game is definitely a 9/10. Pick it up on sale, play it all at once, and never touch it again. You'll be glad you did.

This was a good blend of point and click adventure with hidden object gameplay. Unlike most games in both genres the items you collect in this make sense with the game world that you interact with. The only exception that rule would be the locations where you find some of the items but that can be overlooked for the most part. The game is on the short side but it was enjoyable from beginning to end and the extras included for finishing the game was well worth it! You even get an extra chapter which expands on the story! Overall I would say it's well worth the purchase!

First completed game of 2014!

This is a point and click/hidden object casual game. It took me around 2 hours or so to finish so it is a little on the short side. Fun game with an interesting story behind it. Not too challenging as I only got stuck twice. Once I was being lazy, the second time I just clicked in the wrong place the first time. It comes with a built in guide so a quick consult and I was on my way again. Hidden object scenes are not too challenging either and they are mixed with your typical point and click gameplay (find item, use it somewhere else, etc.). Not a bad game if you enjoy Casual HOG games and I enjoyed my time with it.

3/5 Stars.

Like many hidden object games, The Twin Vaccine makes absolutely no sense. You have debris all around the place, yet you can only use one specific item (baseball) to break a window. You have a sledgehammer, yet you have to find oil to unjam a car door to reach inside. The story is kinda interesting, but you lose interest fast when the game is nonsense.

Good game to kill some time, story is good and the entire game is made from real photos with real actors. No bugs, great atmosphere and hard enough to add some longevity. Its not worth the full price, get it with a bundle instead. Overall i enjoyed it and i recommend it to every point and click lover.

Pretty good hidden object game with nice graphics (for the genre) and *gasp* a STORY?? There are the usual adventure game elements added, but it's the hidden object parts of the game which are the best part. You don't just find random objects like in most other (older) types of these games, If you need a bell, it could be hidden in a box, but to open the box you need a box cutter. So you find the cutter, to open the box, to collect the bell. It actually makes sense, which is a nice change from the randomness of "collect a hedgehog and a pack of cards" for no reason.

Watch out though, I did have a problem (along with a lot of other people apparently) where the game crashed at the midway point and the only way I could complete the game was to run it through a sandbox program.

In short, this game is like a free flash "adventure" game from a well known flash games website, but with budget and pretty high quality behind it. It looks okay, it sounds okay and it even plays okay for what it is. The problem lies with what it is.
I'll be honest, I've finished the game just out of sheer curiosity - to learn how far into absurdity it will venture, It gets quite far. If you've never played those flash "adventure" games (and yes, I am trying to point out how hard it is to call those games adventure games) - you stumble around different screens-areas and search for items which you will then use in some place that has some vague logic behind it, but not really, and then you get another object you need to use in some other place. All that accompanied by a throwaway story, silly dialogue and bad voice acting. Now, some of the games like this kinda justify the insanity of item locations by going into mystic/horror/surreal territory, but Infected tries to take a more "realistic" approach. So when you find signs in tombstones, which then can be hang onto boxes which magically open... Even Resident Evil never went that far, you know?
And really, for this insanity, for this "oh wow, really?" every 5 seconds you get from this game, I might even recommend it, if you get this at a super low price/in a bundle/or someone gifts it to you for some reason. Otherwise, unless you are a fan of games like these, and want a higher quality game, than what you can find in thousands for free, I don't see how you can be interested in buying or wasting any time on this game.

I like the music, atmosphere and environment. The story was nothing special and I didn't like the puzzels at all. They where strangely mystical when common items you need where hidden in strange locations which often needed hidden keys, illogical in a sentence and didn't feel that smart. I just kept thinking during the game "who hid this here and why" because it made no sence. but the puzzels where really easy to solve I breezed through the whole game. There where 1 or 2 puzzels which I really liked which took some extra thinking.

First, the story isn't bad and is a nice departure from all the ghost stories that seem to be the trend with hidden object games these days. Other than that I can't really recommend this game. So may of the puzzles make no sense and seem more random than logical. There were more than a few times where, after some random clicking, I felt "who would ever think to do that?" Dialogue is so-so and sound is fine but nothing to write home about. My main complaint at this point is the game breaking bug the developer still hasn't fixed after months of being an issue. There is also no indication that a fix is on it's way so if you encounter it you're basically SOL. Check the forums for more details as it seems common enough to be a major issue. I encountered it and can't progress any further in the game so this game is essentially a waste of time and money. Shame on the devs, it should have been fixed by now but they clearly don't care.

EDIT: Got the game to continue running using Sandboxie. Shouldn't have to use third party software to get things going again.

I felt like this deserved some love and attention, and rightfully so.

Infected: The Twin Vaccine (now with "Collector's Edition" attached to it, because a free update (amazing treat by the devs to the people who got the game) gave us artwork, an extra level, dev diary/commentary and a bunch of other stuff...) sounds like what to you?

Well, since you, reader, are used to the generic bandwagon of console shooters, zombie shooters, and sh*t cashgrab co-op games that are co-op just because that is a sell-point to little kids! What do you think?

Oh! And in a related news, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is in the top 3 sellers on steam already and it will only be out in October...

Anyways, you will be (probably) glad to hear Infected: The Twin Vaccine is none of that!

Introducing the good return to old-school point n' click adventure.

No no no no no, wait up! Don't leave just yet! Infected isn't the traditional ♥♥♥♥ fest of incoherent puzzles with ghost stories. Rather Infected takes a "realistic" approach, grabbing as a premise a real disease that is deadly and very contagious. In Infected you will find the town of Oxford locked down, as everyone either left it or died in it, due to the spread of said disease, which causes coughing, fevers and other nasty stuff, before the sick person enters in shock and has seizures, and eventually dies.

It really gives a sense of reality to the story and makes it feel truly real, like it CAN happen! That adds depth into the story and more care into the characters than any other point n' click game out there that is all about the ghosts and poorly made, "afternoon nap" puzzle logic.

In The Twin Vaccine, you find the disease starting in 2 twin sisters, 1 of which dies and the other survives and gets back on her feet, only to disappear in a local train station.
You, as a microbiologist, alongside the rest of the scientific community, think the surviving twin is the answer to the cure and fixing this widespread biological terror.

So you start investigating! You go back to the dead, cloudy and misterious (quite post-apocalyptic, which I'm a big fan of in this case) town of Oxford, where you will find you are not the only one looking for Theresa, the surviving twin, where she was last seen in.

The story is simple and I honestly was expecting a nice plot twist by the end.

A plot twist that never came...

And that is fine! The story is straightforward mystery afair, that succeeds in telling something you care about! Something you can be afraid of in real life! Something that gives us a deeper vision of what some human values truly mean!

And that is what I wanted, something I needed in a game for a long time, something that had gameplay and needed my wits to be able to finish it instead of playing "press and hold the "W" key" like Gone Home or The Stanley Parable.

This went way too much under the radar and I will put this in the list alongside Journey and Brothers. A game that is short (took me around 3 hours to beat, but depending on your exploration and puzzle solving skills, you may beat it in something between 2 and 4 hours) and ultimately pricy, BUT still deserves the money value (or at least after a 50% discount) because of what it tells and not how it plays.

Infected uses simple, yet logic (for the most part) puzzles in an open world environment (you can and WILL have to backtrack in some points) and is so well paced I managed to finish it in one single sitting without crying of boredom like other point n' clicks. And by "other" I mean "Every other"! Which pad the game too much and are too repetitive. At least Infected varies stuff up a bit and never outstays its welcome!

The game has a few cutscenes, some are a mix of real life characters and animated movements/lip syncing. People you meet (not many at all) in the map and you can interact look real, because well... they are real! Like filmed and CGI'ed into where you are. It hard to explain, I've never seen anything like this to be honest. Other point n' clicks feel lifeless and atmosphere isn't that good.

I:TTV manages to give life to the atmosphere, making the world feel dead. Yes I know, it's a really big almost non-sensical antithesis but it's true!

To make a world feel dead, to give an atmosphere the sense of loneliness and death, you need to give it some "life" and that takes skill!

Point n' clicks are shovel ware, TTV skull♥♥♥♥s the idea and is the prototype of what point n' click can actually become in the future! It is the AAA version of point n' clicks, because it has quality over quantity and costs 14€. 14€ you pay for quality.

Funnily enough, AAA nowadays means 60€ pieces of absolute ♥♥♥♥ and lying schemes by big corporations, instead of the previous AAA, like, you know? 50€ Good PC Ports with lots of elbow grease rubbed on them...

Ok so, it's not all good. It's short, yes and that short time, is a good time! BUT, that isn't an excuse. Something extra could be made for sure! And no, the extra's aren't enough, they are like 30 extra minutes at best!

The main plot is great! And the end is heart-breaking. But the side plots (little stories you uncover from exploring) feel like not enough attention was put into them. This could've been a great idea to both add a new side story and make it interesting (because it truly does feel interesting), and increase the legth, without making it feel stretched or forced, but everything I got was a few "implied" endings to them, which felt underdeveloped at best.

This is NOT a Spoiler in my opinion, but you can skip to the next paragraph for the rest of the review: ***At one point, you will discover a side plot and argument that happened a few months back between a Carl and a Marty guy, and one accused the other of something (which I won't tell, of course). But I never found out who was right or not, nor the fate of one of the guys.***

It was sad, very much so, it was a really mysterious and engaging side story that never felt like it got the ending it deserved.

Voice acting is good for the most part, one character will feel a bit over the top and weird. But his delivery is still pretty good.
Graphics are taken from real life, like most point n' clicks and it works like the other games of the same genre! But trees and grass could move to the wind to make everything feel a bit less stagnant. But it's still pretty good overall and some changes to the environment like fire, smoke and explosions are still there, which is nice.

Audio and music is fantastic, and add tons to the atmosphere!

Overall, buy this for a good afternoon! You will have nice puzzles and never reach the point of frustration (some, though very few, lack some logic, but that's a given in point n' clicks. Other games of the same genre are all hugely stupid and abstract while this isn't 70% of the time, so kudos for it.), a great story and premise, and an overall great atmospheric world!

Some scenes will be truly shocking and left me pausing the game for 5 minutes. Of course I wont tell which, I'll leave that to your finding and your own surprise shock. You will care about the characters and the world, like I said already, sorry for repeating myself this much, and that is why you should buy I:TTV. It's Point n' clicks done right and you should totally buy it.

8.5/10, you will have a good (if short) time with this one. If the price still scares you, wait for a 50% or 66% off sale on steam (or somewhere else).

Can't recommend with such a short story and a price at $14. I beat the game with just 3.5 hours on it. The story is good, but not good enough to cost so much for so little. Go buy Still Life instead. $10 and I have 25 hours on it and still have yet to beat it. You can buy Still Life 1 and 2 and get Post Mortem as well for $20 and it's a much better buy than this.

This is a VERY casual Point & Click adventure with Hidden Object games mixed in. Production values are high for this genre even though the Full Motion Video sequences are quite corny. Story is actually OK.
Good stuff if you enjoy the casual genre, especially Hidden Object games.

-The story line stands out from other games in the HOG genre.

-Artwork. The hidden object scenes were not cluttered, and the items were able to be found.

-Voice acting. The voice actors were actually quite good, which is uncommon in many games (particularly the hidden-object genre).

-Ease of puzzles. Some players like their puzzles to be simple, but the puzzles in this game may be TOO easy.

-Unrealistic adventure. Judging by the story line, the game is supposed to be realistic. As others have pointed out, items are discovered in bizarre places that make no sense in a realistic setting.

-Grammatical errors. This is something I often see in HOGs. Most of the time I can overlook grammar mistakes, but in this game the player character finds a note written by a teacher, and in the note the teacher incorrectly says "they're" instead of "their." Forgive me if I find that hard to ignore.

-Length. I completed the entire game and the bonus chapter in four hours! I even went AFK several times!

-No replay value. A common thing with hidden object games. Once you play them through, there is no reason to play them again, and this game is no different.

-Price. Although the game was fun, it's nowhere near worth $14.00.

Verdict: If you are a fan of hidden object games and want to kill a few hours one afternoon, then this game is worth a playthrough. But not for $14.00. Buy it when it is on sale for less than $5.00.

As for hidden object games this is one of the better ones. It's got a good story, great graphics and a decent cast of characters. It holds its own with the rest of Mumbo Jumbo's HOG catalog. That being said I think the game might suffer from a couple of game breaking bugs in which it crashes at particular points for no reason. And it tends to be around the same area for most people it crashes for. Some folks have discovered a work around but when multiple people have the same game crashing bug and the developers do nothing to fix it I can't recommend that game.

+ Good story
- Simple puzzles
- Game breaking bugs

It's very good, I'm impressed! At times it made me think of Lost in the City, which is one of my favorites. Maybe the urban apocalyptic setting... There's a mix of drawn graphics and real videos and actors, the result is very kitch but totally suits the game, giving it an eerie game design that goes well with the scenario. Theres a few behind the scene pics in the bonus stuff. And for once the bonus chapter is well thought out, genious! Wished there was more to it, really. Which brings the bad: it's very short: 4 hours. And extremely easy. But don't let that stop you bying it, wait for a sale if you find the price too steep for that length. However I'm generally fast in playing HOGs, maybe 5 or 6 hours is more correct.
A sequel is hinted, I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm quite glad I didn't pay full price for this, I must be honest.

It's a competent point and click adventure, but at 14 euros it is way too short, 2 hours for me, the puzzles are fairly easy but halfway through they start to tumble down the path of complete nonsense, which in my opinion is the stroke of death to most puzzle games.

If you can get it for 5 euros or equivalent and desperately need to spend 2 hours, it'll do, but I’ve paid less for much better games, even in the same point and click adventures sense.
