À propos de ce jeu

A tree killed his granny and now he is out for revenge. Meet Jack Lumber, the supernatural lumberjack who hates trees, loves animals, and hates trees. Did we say that twice? The guy really hates trees, and boy does he have an axe to grind.

Use the supernatural powers of Jack Lumber to massacre the forest in this time-warping, line-drawing, log-slicing, pun-filled lumberjacking mashup! Bust out your flannel to muster the strength and burlyness to solve the skill and logic puzzles (flannel not actually required).

Fight the forest and make Granny proud! Eff trees!

Key Features

  • Chug the blood of your foes; drink Granny's magical syrups to enhance your log-chopping powers.
  • Stack beards like you'd stack a pile of flapjacks; more beards add more challenge!
  • Poke at the adorable forest animals living in your cabin after you’ve destroyed their forest homes.
  • Unlock Infinitree Mode; chop till you drop!
  • Pining for puns? Yule love the quirky humor and piles of puns packed into Jack Lumber (alliteration is a bonus!)
  • Unlockable missions, player driven challenges, and inventive syrup power-up combos make replaying this game a real tree-t.

Regrettably, I have to NOT recommend this game with one exception - those who have laptops with a touchscreen or a Microsoft Surface will likely have a significantly more enjoyable time with this Fruit Ninja clone than those who have to use a mouse.

Being a Fruit Ninja variant, quick, precise swipes are necessary to maximize your score. As a result, in the more difficult levels a mouse simply will not do. This leads to very frustrating misses and lower-than-expected scores. I can play this to a much better degree on my laptop's touchscreen, but touchscreen laptops are relatively new and not many people have them yet. I've given up playing this on my main PC and will only play it on my touchscreen laptop due to the significant frustration level when (trying to) play this with a mouse.

The game itself is very cute with a cutout-style art design and some of the levels are very challenging even with a touchscreen. The game really is a lot of fun. I don't care if this is an iOS/Android port, and I really wish that people would stop complaining about that like it's a bad thing. (The game as I write this is only $5, for crying out loud!) But unfortunately this is one game where it is better experienced on a touchscreen device.

My television is not a touchscreen.
My computer is not a phone.
This game is probably much more fun on those.

Jack... Lumber? Are you Serious?! [KAMGUSTA's REVIEW]

I'll begin by saying this is an iOS port, so it was thought for touchscreens. By the way, it works good also with the mouse (not perfectly, but good)! :-)

So... You are Jack Lumber, the lumberjack... Evil pines killed your granny... You'll go out with your mighty axe to seek revenge... exterminating all the logs you'll find... saving your little forest friends... and trying to solve the evil mystery that lies behind (??!)...

It is a nice fruitninja-like game where you have to perpendiculary cut a lot of moving logs (helped by slow time) by moving your mouse cursor! But where the game really shines is in its humor, from the animals' sounds mimicked by mouth by the developers, to the granny that will send you stupid letters from his new "home" and from Illuminati to to a soul mate named Jill Lumber that seeks revenge, too...

LOL!

Play it on your tablet. It's entertaining on a tablet. Not so much with a mouse.

Full of unearned fame,
It's really a shame,
That I played this game
It started out tame
But sadly became
An unenjoyable experience

I got this game in a humble bundle. It is probably about average but worth an occasional play.
I don't have a problem using a cursor to play and it is made easier by the time slowing. Fruit ninja on the other hand is almost impossible to play with a cursor.

It can get repetitive after a while so is only really worth a short play.

I recommend it but only during a bundle or at a low sale price. It probably isn't worth the full price. Don't be put off by the minority of haters since you may find you quite like it as I did.

I don't have a bad opinion about this game, but it's because I got it in an humble bundle, and I don't think it's worth its price, basically is a mobile game ported on PC.

I've tried the mobile version (included in the bundle), and it's not bad.
It's something like fruit ninja with slow motion, but it has an original concept, and design.

Anyway, I just don't feel like reccomending it, unless you have a touchscreen PC (I suppose touchscreen funtionalities are supported on PC too, but I'm not sure).
It feels like a mobile game, probably because it's to be played on a mobile phone.

A fun fruit ninja clone that is sadly crippled by mouse controls being poor. If you have a touch screen, I'd recommend it.

This is Fruit Ninja in a slightly different skin. The challenge in this game is generated from players needing to swipe in a specfic direction. This is a small gimmic and one which does no favour to its entertainment value.

There is nothing noteworthy in this game. It was made with tablets in mind which adds in a nice variety of poor collision detection. The best that might be said is that it could entertain a 10 year old.

I would not suggest people spend money on this.

10/10 – Leviathyn

Are you serious? 10/10? PERFECT GAME, ZERO FLAWS? I'm sorry but this is definitly anything but. It hardly scratches the surface of a remotley ok game. Story? what story? In this kind of terrible, poorly executed flash rip off, indie piece of garbage, a story is hardly even needed. Sure, you can attempt to make the game world more immersive, but with a story like this why are you even trying in the game development industry?

"…what are yew waiting for? Branch out, and give this charming puzzle game a try. Yule won't be sorry."
8.5/10 – Destructoid

Puzzle game? What are you smoking Destructoid? How in gods name is this a bloody puzzle game? If there's anything puzzling about this game, it's that anyone would actullay consider spending £3.99, almost four of her majesty's British pounds, on a pitiful attempt at a re-skin of a FREE android app.

"…the game is solid at it’s core. Well built and full of cute animals. What more could you ask for?"
8.75/10 – Subpar Gamers

You've got me right there Subpar Gamers... what could be better than those cute animals? Wait a sec... what is that... Is that a- Is that a beaver? UUUUGGGHHH.. Seriously the animals in this game are ugly as sin, I have seen more well designed animals on DeviantArt, and they're usually doin' the nasty.

Overall, I was feeling nice and donated to the Humble Bundle and figured I might as well donate enough to get every game. Boy do I wish I could have not. My only consolation is that I gave every penny of my £4.96 ($8) to charity, and nothing to help fund these D-grade Indie Dev losers.

0/10 Uninstalled within 3 minutes, had to redownload to meet the 5 minute requirement to post this review. Would not recommend.

Easily one of the worst games I've ever played, and a terrible waste of bandwidth spent downloading it. The only reason I got this is because it came with a Humble Bundle. This is Fruit Ninja with wooden logs. Why the HELL would I play a tablet game on my PC? The developers should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this trash.

I played this on a Surface Pro, which is a tablet computer.
It is really mediocre, and having a stylus feels like cheating, even though this is just your generic "fruit ninja" clone.
You can get a much better "fruit ninja" like game on your phone for much less than the €5 being asked for this game.

So excrutitatingly bland and without inspiration I don't even know why people spent actual time to make it. What a waste of time, for both the player and the developer.
