Cargo Commander is a game that I recommend because:
- it is a method to banish boredom
- it has an acceptable price
- it is indie
- it has action
- it is difficult
- it has a good soundtrack
- it has trading cards

Enjoy!

Cargo commander will get stale eventually and quickly, but for the short day you decide to delve into the game you will likely enjoy it. The game isn't a masterpiece but the mechanics, story, visuals etc. are implemented effectivley.

Introduction
Developed by Serious Brew and published by Missing Link Games, Cargo Commander is a rather unique 3D platform game that borrows heavily from other succesful genres. The very fact that all the levels are randomly generated, can give you a first clue that this won’t be a repetitive experience. Also the destruction you can cause in this title is more prevalent than in regular side-scrollers.

Gameplay
Cargo Commander features an upgrade system for the weapons and tools in the game, giving us a sense of moving forward. Some hefty looting of the crates is required but I never felt bored once while playing and the destructible enviroment is a nice bonus to an already fun title. A text-based story is included and it does present us with rare moments of comic relief. Not many platformers attempt that and also succeed. This is entirely a single player experience but the level diversity and well scaled difficulty ladder offer a balanced gameplay. It wasn’t too short and it didn’t drag on either. My main gripe with the game however, was the inconsistence of the loading times which are a bit unexpected. I guess some glitches can’t be fixed by further updates.

It has beautiful 3D graphics with just a touch of cel-shading in the mix. It never looked bland or out of place. Few things to comment as far as the looks go. It carries plenty of diversity in both enemy selection and the titular cargo crates which form an integral part of the gameplay.

The game’s second flaw has to be sound department. You have a limited selection of sounds that play on a loop. It gets boring fast even with the entertaining gameplay, encouraging you to press on. We’re already used to the fact that platformers seldomly feature any noteworthy soundtrack, but this game deserved more in that regard.

Pros
+ Pleasant graphics
+ Excellent gameplay with incentives to try different aproaches
+ Steam Trading Cards & Achievements

Cons
- Inconsistent loading times
- Repetitive sounds

Result / Final thoughts
Cargo Commander is a very nice addition to any game collection since it has both Trading Cards and Achievements. Fans of the platformer genre will not be disappointed as the gameplay brings to table both classic and novel features. I most certainly enjoyed it and I do hope for a sequel even if this title was released in 2012 and the dev team haven’t released anything else in the meantime. Even by 2016’s standards, this game is a worthy choice and overall fun experience.

Rating 8/10

Don't expect to get more than seven or eight hours out of this game before it gets too repetitive.

It is, however, quite likely you'll enjoy those seven or eight hours a lot.

Interesting mechanics, and a well-established feel. Sometimes the physics are a little janky, however.

It's a cold dark night in october
as I wander till the morning light
I don't mind it's getting colder
because my whole life is october night

down the drain we'll go
that is all we know, that we know
into the great unknown
that is all we know, that we know

It's a long walk if you can't find your way home
and I know because I ain't' got none
I'm warm though it's cold, but there's no one to hold
As I wander on my own

down the drain we'll go
that is all we know, that we know
into the great unknown
that is all we know, that we know

I met a gorgeous girl
she said: 'take me home'
and she broke my heart
back home

down the drain we'll go
that is all we know, that we know
into the great unknown
that is all we know, that we know

F*ck You F*ck You F*ck You F*ck You

Great concept but seriously lacking in any real content, everything gets repetittive within about fifteen minutes.

The soundtrack although good, only consists of one song.

The gameplay has potential for organic and player relative variety but its just too limiting in what you can do for any truly unique experiences.

Nice idea, lacking game.
