Kerbal Space Program patch 1.1.3 is now available!

Hello everyone!

The 1.1.3 patch is now available! We’ve taken our time over the past couple of weeks to tackle as many issues as we could in this patch and the results speak for themselves: close to 100 fixes have been logged compared to the previous version of KSP, and we even found time to hide something small in the game that we’re sure a lot of long time fans will appreciate!

Check out the full changelog at our Forums.

Patch 1.1.2 is now available!

Hello everyone!

We noticed a number of issues persisted through the 1.1.1 patch earlier this week. We’re releasing patch 1.1.2 to address these issues before we head off to a long overdue vacation for the next couple of weeks. Patch 1.1.2 addresses issues with the user interface and landing legs, amongst others.

Check out the full changelog on our forums.

The Patch will start downloading through your Steam client automatically.

About This Game

In KSP you must build a space-worthy craft, capable of flying its crew out into space without killing them. At your disposal is a collection of parts, which must be assembled to create a functional ship. Each part has its own function and will affect the way a ship flies (or doesn't). So strap yourself in, and get ready to try some Rocket Science!

The game offers three gameplay modes: Sandbox, in which you are free to build anything you can think of; Science Mode, which lets you perform Scientific experiments to advance the knowledge of Kerbalkind and further the available technology; and Career Mode, in which you must manage every aspect of your Space Program, including administration strategies, Crew Management, Reputation, as well as taking up Contracts to earn Funds and upgrade your Space Center Facilities (or repair them).

Add to this the ability to capture asteroids (a feature done in collaboration with NASA), Mining for resources out across the furthest reaches of the Solar System, Constructing Bases and Space Stations in and around other worlds; plus literally thousands of mods from a huge active modding community, all add up into the award-winning game that has taken the space sim genre by storm.

Key Features

  • The Vehicle Assembly Building and the Space Plane Hangar allows players to build spacecraft out of any imaginable combination of parts.
  • Fully-fledged, Physics-based Space Flight Simulation ensures everything will fly (and crash) as it should.
  • Take your Kerbal crew out of the ship and do Extra Vehicular Activities.
  • Fly out to Moons and other Planets.
  • Procedural Terrain delivers detailed terrain at a vast scale. The Kerbal Planet is 600km in radius!
  • Mod-enabled, allows players to create new content and modify the game.
  • Ship systems. Keep an eye out for engine temperatures and fuel levels, and try not to explode.
  • Build ships with multiple stages, and jettison parts away as they burn out.
  • Full control over the ship’s setup allows for complex ships and advanced functionality.
  • Dock spacecraft together to build Space Stations, Massive Starships, or even surface bases on other worlds.
  • Manage your crewmembers, hire them, and send them out into space and make them into heroes.
  • Research and Develop new technologies to advance your Space Program.
  • Take on Missions to attract interest in your Space Program.
  • Discover new worlds and expand the scientific knowledge of Kerbalkind.
  • Extract valuable resources from all over the solar system.
  • And a whole lot more!

On the surface, KSP may look like a simple game about building, launching and crashing rockets, but by the time that you've managed to get something to land on Eeloo, you're probably fully qualified to work at NASA.

On a more serious note, this is an all round great game, for people who want to make explosions and people who want to engage in dangerous missions to distant planets alike. The art style itself is cartoonish, whilst maintaining a fair amount of realism. The UI is also very well designed.

Gameplay is fun, whether it's building a 200 part asparagus staged rocket, flying a bizarre ion powered SSTO or trying to get Jeb to the Mun using only an EVA suit. With the randomness of the game, even a routine mission to low orbit can be a disaster, keeping the game ftom getting repetitive.

My only complaints are going to have to be the chosen engine, which I can hardly complain about because a good Unity game will take full advantage of it.

I'd recommend this game to anyone who likes building things to destroy them, building things only to watch them destroy themselves, and building things which miraculously work.

Don't it's completely impossible and the istructions are pointless, this is a waste of a good game as the manual reads 'take the thing we have never told you about before and add it to the thing we are just mentioning now' so you will have to go online to find out what it is and even then the description will be so vage you will still not be able to work it out.

Terrible, save your money.

Great Game! The best part is achieving little things like reaching orbit, landing on the moon and getting back. As a non-math person I am amazed for the work that real people put into making REAL people go to space and then the moon AND THEN come back ALIVE. Playing KSP shows you easy it is to mess up.

This game is awesome

took me 50 hours to figure out, and was fun pretty much the entire time. Landing a probe on laythe was probably one of the most euphoric experiences i've ever had in a video game before. Please buy this game

There are few games SO complicated that at one point I just refuse to play them any longer, Kerbal happens to be one. With all the fuss that was being made over it at one point and the game the trailers portrayed I was really interested. Like some games though, the trailers show you the game AFTER hours upon hours were dumped into it. Kerbal is about a lot of build up. You'll spend 70% of your time just building the damn ship, 20% trying to figure out why nothing fits together or works, 5% wondering why you're doing this to yourself and another 5% watching the videos from other players wishing you could experience THAT instead of what you ended up with. If you are looking to become an actual rocket scientist this might be for your, or if you have a general interest in engineering. If you're looking for a game that simplifies the insane complexities of building a space ship and space flight though, this is not for you.

I have a love-hate relationship with this game.
It's the most rewarding game I've ever played.
It's also made me want to kill myself when I forget to add parachutes and don't realize until I'm re-entering Kerbin.

I love this game.
**** this game.

Be Jebidiah Kerman
You cannot control your destiny
You ride rockets to infinity
and beyond you crash

Be Me
Build rockets that have no sense
Somehow it orbits
start the descent
heat builds
landing gear destroyed and lost to the inferno
deploy chutes
first chute gone lost in the flame
second chute holds but does not slow
third deploys
the last hope
hit the ground and the science pod explodes
but hey, Jeb is ok!

Ok, i've got lots of thinks to say about KSP, but I'll try to be clear, so let's begin!
This game nowadays is the best flight simulator i ever seen.
The potentials of this game are endless, you can do everything you want!
But this game wouldn't be the same without its community.
The KSP's comunnity is on of the best comunnity in the game's world!!
Seriously! I don't have many hours on the game (I hope not for too long ;) but i've never seen rude persons (yes, you'll say "This game is only Single Player!") but, trust me, the community is amazing!
I'd like to thank everyone who helped me when I started playing.
There are tons of useful mod, and if you have any questions, certainly there will be an answer in some forums or in some webpage.
Buy this game absolutely, specially if you are smart and you like to planning and studying the wounderfull game's mechanics.

I have spent so much time on Kerbal Space Program. This is one game I keep coming back to after years of play. The sandbox nature of the game combined with the numerous parts available leads to endless possibilities for Rockets, Planes, Space Probes, Boats, Trucks, Cars, and really anything you can think of. Take the base game and add mods like Infernal Robotics and Tweakscale and you have so much more to do. Then add an additional 150 mods from CKAN and there is literally no end to what can be accomplished. 10/10
