About This Game

Trials Evolution: Gold Edition marks the Trials franchise’s triumphant return to the PC gaming platform. RedLynx’s signature franchise, the Trials series first made its mark in gaming with the 2008 release of Trials 2 SE for the PC. That breakout indie success led to further success on the Xbox, but ever since then PC gamers have been clamoring for more Trials. Trials Evolution: Gold Edition is what they have been waiting for.

The Gold Edition Is Two Trials In One

Trials Evolution: Gold Edition will contain all the content of the original, best-selling XBLA game Trials Evolution. In addition, all of the single player tracks and skill games from Trials HD will be found in Trials Evolution – effectively doubling the content offering with two complete games, neither of which have ever before been available on PC.

OPTIMIZED AND ENHANCED FOR PC

Trials Evolution: Gold Edition will be optimized and enhanced for the PC gaming platform. All of the features of its forerunners – from the in-game editor, player sharing of tracks, and global Leader Boards, will be re-integrated into the game in a way that fits the new platform.

Why is uplay involed. It ruins the game as I can't join friends due to stupid nat errors which I have done all I can to try and fix but the game won't have it. The game it self is good fun but uplay makes it impossible to play with friends.

This game is absolutely fantastic and the inclusion of the HD levels is much appreciated if you never had it on 360; it really is like getting two games in one, and it makes progression through the more frustrating later levels a lot more tolerable when you can switch off between the two.

That said, I really wish they'd port this somewhere else -- I try to avoid getting Ubi and EA stuff on PC because of UPlay and Origin, and the port itself is also kind of janky; it requires DX10 so it's not likely to ever work in Wine, and performance is a little worse than it should be. For my money, Trials Fusion isn't nearly as good, but unfortunately that's the one they've chosen to support an OpenGL variant of on the PS4.

This game is a must-have. Despite some issues with Uplay (that's pretty obvious) the game offers endless hours of repeatable gameplay, and a fun-based biking experience for any user. No matter how many times you fire it up, you'll be relieved knowing that you did so. It's got excellent controls (even on a keyboard), beautiful graphics, wonderful gameplay, and an overall genius multiplayer mode. I highly recommend Trials Evolution!

This is simply based on my personal experience with this version of the game. I purchased this game already for the Xbox 360 when it came out and had a great time with it. Since I loved it so much I bought it a second time so I can play it on my PC. I made a mistake thinking I'd get the same experience with this version.

Unfortunately it was a $20 poorly invested. This is a shantily put together PC port. Despite my machine having more than enough power to run this game, I can't even get this thing to run at my monitor's native resolution (1920x1080). I've done research and found this has to due with cards that can't run DirectX11. Only the thing is, my card DOES run Dx11, so that doesn't make sense.

Even so, running it at a vastly lower resolution, the game is still choppy, ugly and unplayable. Throw in the fact that you have to run this crap using Ubisoft's crappy Uplay software, I find it extremely difficult to recommend this product to PC gamers.

If you own a console, buy it on there. But this PC port is best ignored.

This game is very fun and full of rage. This is one of those games where you will only have fun if you are good at it. I am ok at this game but I still have fun on it. By the time of writing this review I have only created one track using the editor. Once you get used to how making a track works it will get easier the more you make. Some of the maps can be very long (15 minutes) and some can be very short (30 seconds.) If you ever get bored with the main places then you can go download player made maps. There are a ton of them and you will not get bored playing them. If you rage very easily I do NOT recommend this game but, if you have patience and is not easily enraged then I do recommend this game.

Also, there are very little graphics settings. You can not change the textures, models etc. If your computer is pretty decent then you should get it but if your computer isn't good then the lag will kill you.

One style of game that always gets me is one where you strive to achieve the perfect run. Trials and its brand of motorbike physics lunacy plays into this style, and far too much time has been spent chasing that elusive gold medal.

I used to play Trials evolution on the Xbox 360, when I still did that, and it was one of the few games I really properly missed when I moved to PC. When it came up on steam, with all of the levels from Trials HD, which I had never played, I immediately wanted it. After owning it for quite some time now, I'm still thoroughly impressed. Great game to just pick up whenever, play through one or two really hard levels until you kickass at them, and then stop.

Surprisingly complex for a motorbike game.

I really enjoyed as far as I could get after that it really became more about precision rather than enjoyment. I haven't tried playing with a controller and would like to see if that changes anything. The customization of motorcycle and appearance was nice. I would reccomend this game to anyone who is interested in platforming games and linear puzzles.

Lesson learned about reading the reviews before buying a game. it installs a DRM and demands an account creation to play this thing. I would have gladly paid $20 for a pile of dog♥♥♥♥ but this game doesnt even come CLOSE to the high standards that dog♥♥♥♥ demands. Its like playing excitebike while on a bad acid trip. I'd rather play excitebike to be honest.

One of the best games from Finland (don't get confused because Ubisoft is only publisher of this game and developer RedLynx is finnish studio). It's so addictive and you just want to break your best time/score in every track many times.

Absolutely worth of money, only negative thing is Uplay required to play this game!

Just plain amazing good old fashioned arcade fun. VERY highly recommended if you are a gamer, even if you don't have the faintest idea about motorcycles!
