If you enjoy puzzle games, this one is a must-buy.
Great 4th dimensional puzzlesolving, but can be a bit vague with mechanics.
Doesn't support 1600x900 monitors which can result in visual artifacts.
Still not entirely sure wtf is with the ending but it was pretty cool.
Recommended 8.8/10.

Wow! What a ride. Antichamber challenges your notions of what a puzzle game should be and then some. Some seriously trippy level design in here that while clearly not of our world, remains logical. I don't even know what to call it, non-euclidian? Extradimensional? What starts out as a pretty linear experience quickly opens up and you are later free to go and do puzzles in whatever order you like, and the map also connects with itself in mysterious ways.

With so little explained to you outright, every solved puzzle is a victory in itself as in any good game, buuuuut it also comes with the risk of leaving you stumped what to do. I resorted to looking up a few of the puzzles online, and even then I barely understood what was going on until much much later. The mechanics of the "gun" you're using are quite complex and not always intuitive, I found.

The visuals are nice and simplistic, but apart from a few particular mindbenders the game does look very samey. It's a little tiring to walk down almost identical hallways and rooms for so long, and even the puzzles pretty much start to repeat by the end. The audio stands in complete contrast with an organic soundtrack of bird chirps and weather effects, which only feeds the surreal theme of the game.

I greatly enjoyed the game as a package, even if it has a few flaws. It's definitely on the harder side, and if you would like something with a little action look elsewhere. If you like to sit down and ponder on the same puzzle for half an hour, get Antichamber!

+1 for good linux port, played on Kubuntu

This game was a mind bending journey that was rewarding and complete. The minimalistic style with a sketch-like feel really gave the feeling of an unknown world that was begging for exploration. But the best part of this game by far is the way the quotes on the walls pertain to both real life AND the puzzle you are solving. I have never seen a game as intuitive as this. I recommend.

Really confusing at times. Mysteriously uninstalled itself before I finished. Doubt it kept my savedata, so I'm not gonna go through it all over again just to reach the end. The game was thought provoking and I kind of enjoyed collecting the little pictures. Inspired gameplay and extremely puzzling puzzles.

Not as good/funny as The Stanley Parable. Frankly, I was bored. I could appreciate the creativity that went into it, but I found the game mechanics and overall gameplay frustrating.

It's a good psychological mind-romp that will probably leave you more confused than when you first entered the game. There's no real instructions except for the main room. It's a learn as you go game where you're asked to look at life through a different lens constantly. If you want something to make your brain hurt with thought and puzzles. This is for you. WARNING: You may also get motion sick.

Warning! Normal rules of logic do not apply. Think at your own risk.

But seriously, if you enjoy puzzle games, this is one of the best. It's a puzzle exploration game, that features non-Euclidian 3D space (basically impossible 3D) and it will make you question almost everything that you would take for granted. There are no rules, only guidelines: stairways leading back to the same place, never ending corridors going in circles, appearing and disappearing paths when your attention is elsewhere. Its black and white signs give advice that apply in real life as well. This game requires what some people would call "thinking outside the box". In Antichamber the only box is of your own thinking.

After playing a some 3d puzzle games like Portal a few years back, I've been itching to find a something similar that's genuinely tough and really makes me think as a player. This game definately scratches that itch and is genuinely fun to play, but there are some pretty deeply-rooted flaws with it as well.

Antichamber is an incredibly challenging puzzle game - but unfortunately some of that challenge comes in the lack of explanation of the simplest mechanics. There's some solid and challenging puzzles there that are very enjoyable, but unforunately there are a many moments when the difficultly surpasses the fun, and objectives are not always clear, which slows pacing, leading to some very frustrating moments.

The blinding-white minimalistic environment and asset design is a style which fits the puzzles well and doesn't distract the player, which is a positive. The color scheme is simple, and consits of a few very bright colors. However, it is incredibly tough to look at for long periods of time. The lack of actual light or visual smoothness on surfaces is difficult to process and understand spacially. There's also no real music or sound beyond a few ambient beach or wind noises here and there - a HUGE missed opportinuty.

The other gaping flaw (and my biggest complaint) is that the game itself has little easter-egg rooms that, (while are fun to look at) are poorly scattered throughout, and bring the pacing to a disapointing halt. There is no way to tell whether solving a certain puzzle may be the path to progress or to another dead-end easter-egg room, and finding out you've wasted 20 minutes solving a completely useless puzzle while making no real progress is incredibly frustrating and annoying. And the dizzying overall layout doesn't help this in the slightest.

It would have been nice to have some kind of story, something that would make the player feel compelled to continue other than just the satisfaction of winning. The only thing remotely close to a this are little one-sentence notes which are placed on the walls occasionally. Instead of offering little hints, they're simple and on-the-nose, but the biggest problem is - the notes always come AFTER the puzzle, making them completely irrelevant and near meaningless.

Now despite ALL of these flaws I just mentioned, Antichamber is fundamentally a very interesting, unqiue, and fun puzzle game. It's enganging, challenging, and will have you learn its mechanics inside and out if you want to master it. It's a little tough and times, and it'll test your patience, but it is very fun, and rewarding. That being said, I really can't recommend this game to a lot of people, simply because it's just so difficult, and not always in the ways that it should be. If you're looking for a real-head scratcher though, and you're willing to put up with it, this game might just be worth checking out - that is if you find it on sale.

Mind bending puzzles on LSD, along with life lessons for the taking.

10/10 Would see a doctor again.

In all honesty though, this is one of the greatest, most headache-inducing puzzle games I've ever played. Bravo.

Based on the first hour alone, I would not recommend this game, but by the time I finished it, I loved it! At first the puzzles appear to all be bizarre trial-and-error types. I found that I could typically play for an hour before I'd get stuck, but then I seemed to immediately find the solution for whatever puzzle had stumped me whenever I next played. Despite the bizarre nature of the puzzles, there is a consistency that you discover as you play the game. By the time I reached the final portion of the game, I felt like I knew exactly what to do in each situation.

The minimalistic art works for the game, but it is not great. Navigating the map is quite difficult during the middle portion of the game as some areas are only accessible if you make a long trek from another area and the corridors change as you walk through them. Eventually you learn how to get where you need to go, so the navigation issues disappear in the late game (assuming you don't have long breaks between play sessions and forget what you've learned).

I would say anyone who enjoys a good puzzle game should give this a shot, and make sure you play well past the point where you get your first gun. The first hour or so may not be all that impressive, but I think you'll like it if you stick with it!

Fantastic game!

I haven't played a game similiar to this one, and I love to explore wierd and colorful worlds.
This unique game sucked me in and made me look for solutions for hours.

100% worth it.

But be aware! I never heard of motion sickness before and I didn't read any comments before i purchased this item, but I was feeling sick after the first 20 minutes of gameplay. I had to sotp for 2 hours before i could return.

I found out, that using speakers instead of a headset and Downsampling (NVIDIA: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/dsr/technology ) help a lot.

Downsampling is great because it sharpens the blurry models used by this game.

Hands down the greatest puzzle game I've ever played. Everything from the mechanics to the aestetics and controls work wonderfully together to create an experience unlike any other game I've played to date.

I honestly wish I could remove my meories of this game and play it again as a fresh experience.

The only real complaint I have about this game is now puzzle games like Portal hold little interest to me by comparison.
