This game is absolutely delightful. Surviving is hard, but there is so many fun things to find and build. And its almost another kind of challenge to see how many ways you can die! You can easily lose hours within the game, trying to defeat a variety of creatures, outlast winter and exploring the map. The multitude of customizations make for even more ways to play: you can make it easier, so as to explore more; you can make it harder, if you want to torture yourself; or you can take the middle ground and just balance things a little more than the random generation will usually give you. To cut myself off before I ramble too much - everything about this game is awesome, and I haven't even stepped into the downloadable expansions yet!

The sandbox nature of this game leaves for repeated enjoyment. The ability to unlock a story mode maintains engagement when the basics have been explored. Overall, a very enjoyable game.

Pros: Spooky Cartoonish Design
A very good crafting system, very big and various
World editing is very expanded
A lot of characters, and I like how you can unlock the characters
Both DLC are very funny and different
Characters are very different, everyone has good and bad things
You can play point & click or with keyboard and mouse,I think it has controller support

Cons: It hasn't steam achiviments
If you die,you lose EVERYTHING,only if you find a touch stone, you got 1 more life
You die a lot before you learn how to play it

These aren't all,I'll come back with more if I find another things about this great game 9.8/10

Fantastic game. I love the survival elements of Don't Starve, despite the obvious illogical path. If you were to actually go out into the wild, you should look for a source of running fresh water, not a stagnant pool. You would need to build a shelter as well. However, since this is a dark game, I'll ignore the obvious facepalm elements. I especially enjoy the weird and interesting creatures that the creators made. I hate the repetitive rabbit collecting, carrot pulling and berry farming. After a while, they get kind of boring.

In conclusion, there are so many things about this game that ♥♥♥♥ me off but their one redeeming feature is the interesting and zany interactions that were created, Just for that, I recommend that you should try it out.

PROS
1. Zany Characters
The Hounds, the Giant, Beefaloes, Mechanical Chess Pieces, Pig King. All these things make the game so interesting. They sort of make sense, but don't.

CONS
1. Chopping Trees
15 Chops for a large tree and the game moves the chopping point around on purpose. This is pretty frustrating.

2. Clicking on Spiders to Attack Them
It's like a dexterity aiming game instead of survival game.

3. Eating Monster Meat
Eating the Monster Meat and dying is just matter of misclicking.

4. Picking up Items
Could you script in auto pick up? It's tedious having to turn the camera to pick up a log.

5. No Doors
You have Walls but no door or roof. The most important thing is the roof and you couldn't even add that in.

6. Illogical Contraptions
Why do you need an ambient thermometer or a lightning rod? You don't even have shelter.

7. Pig Outhouse
Can't I just oust the Pig? I know it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but shelter is far more important.

One of the funnest and most addicting survival games i have ever played. This game is a gem and the developers have put over 6 months of content after the game's release and if you aren't tired perma dying on land, there is always a dlc where you can travel on water to change things up.

"Oh, i just bought this gam-" -Killed by a Bee.
"Ok, one more try" - Killed by a Bee.
"100 days!, 2 giants, 4 seasons, I'm invincible!" - Killed by a Bee.

The Tim Burton style fits this game perfectly, with a bit of survival, and fighting.

>You will fight Giants, Spiders, Metal Chess Things

>You will find Berries, Carrots, Bunnies

>You will have to kill the Bunnies to get Morsel, Pigs/Beefalos/Tallbirds (yes, birds that are, guess what, TALL) to get Meat, Spiders/Merms/Werepigs to get Monster Meat

>You will have to cook all of them if you want to survive.

>You will have to build a shelter if you want to survive.

>You will be INSANE, totally INSANE.

>You will see things. A lot of things.

>You will starve.

>But most importantly... YOU WILL DIE. A LOT.

One of my absolute favorite games. It's quite a challenging game, especially until you get the hang of things. It's a dark, twisted survival game where pretty much everything is trying to kill you. You've got to scavenge, build things, and defend yourself, all while trying to pay attention to the environment (weather) and the fullness of your stomach. The developers also seem to be constantly updating the game and adding huge amounts of awesome content for free. It just keeps expanding and you just keep wanting to play again and again. Highly recommended!

October 2014 Edit: Multiplayer is coming to Don't Starve! It's currently in closed beta at the moment, but should be coming along eventually!

Don't Starve is one of the games I will never forget!I'm sure you ask yourself why? Let me explain:
When I saw the game I were like ,,Naahhhh I'm not going to buy this.'' but a few days later I looked a second time and tought ,,Why not?It looks funny. And it says you can celebrate with your piggy friends.'' that was when I bought it. I can tell you I got addicted to the game. The first day I played 12 h's. I told my brother and my friend they should buy it. They did it and got addicted, too. I think nearly every Computer can run the graphics and the the characters are funny, too. With every game I started a new story war born. For example I started my first game and forgot to make a fire when the night came up I died and I was like ,,Why?I should have know''. And I learned with every new day that the game hates me. The game likes to punch you in the face. And the community is amazing. In the forums you can see artist, storywriters, survivers and so on. Pretty fast updates with new content to explore and even merchandise. It's a tip for everyone who like survival games. You will love it.

Graphics: 10/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Sound: 10/10

I hope you enjoyed my review. If yes press the like button :§D

Do I recommend this game? Hell yes. Every single time you start a new game file, it's an entirely random generated world where nothing is the same as the last. You can play this game for weeks and still not discover all its secrets. It's a sandbox strategy game that keeps you on your toes for anything and everything that's trying to kill you. And believe me, there's a hundred and one monsters who all want your face on a platter.

GAME TIPS:

1. Always have a means to make fire. Always.
2. Pigs are your friends. Build your base near them.
3. Spiders are not.
4. BEWARE THE BEES.
5. Beefalo herds are awesome. Fill your pockets with their endless poo. Great fire fuel.
6. Prepare for periodic hound attacks. Make spears and tooth traps.
7. Pick flowers.
8. Not starving is the LEAST of your worries.

Spiders will murder you.
Hounds will murder you.

Trees will murder you.
Tentacles will murder you.
Shadows will murder you.
Giants will murder you.
Penguins will obliterate you.
Bees will f**king destroy you.

And that's only if you don't starve first.

No matter now much food you save up, no matter what clothing you create, and no matter how long your beard is, a frog is all it takes to destroy your life and make you rage harder than Leonardo DiCaprio at an Oscars event.

This survival rougelike is excellent. You are trapped in a cruel, randomly-generated world where everything wants to kill you, and left to fend for yourself in the wilderness. You will start off with nothing, collecting supplies to make a fire and survive your first night. The goal is simple -- survive for as long as possible.

The randomness of the world generation keeps it fresh for every playthrough. There are countless ways to die, ranging from freezing to death to getting mauled by a tentacle. Once you die, you will be forced to start anew, which can be frustrating.

I seriously love this game, and it really is worth picking up. You should also pick up the DLC which adds a lot more challenge to the game. This game is EXTREMELY addicting.
