Chivalry: Medieval Warfare Patch 47.5 - Hotfix!

This patch addresses the following fixes.

Misc.

  • Fixed some texture LOD settings that could have been causing incorrect visibility of world objects

Maps/Levels

Castle Assault / King's Garden
  • Making barriers work properly (not stick in the way after the objective is completed). The barriers added in the previous patch were not implemented correctly and would often bug out, additional protection has been added to ensure they work as intended.

    Drunken Bazaar
  • Fixed the collision on the optional side bridge

Please expect our servers to be down for a time while they are updated

"I’m rather enamoured by the unique flavour of online combat presented by Chivalry. It’s fresh and fun, and like the very best games is easy to get into yet incredibly hard to master."

About This Game

Besiege castles and raid villages in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a first-person slasher with a focus on multi-player. Featuring competitive online combat that seeks to capture the experience of truly being on a medieval battlefield. Inspired from the intensity and epicness of swordfighting movies such as 300, Gladiator and Braveheart, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare aims to bring that experience to the hands of a gamer.

The game is skill-based and controls like an FPS, but instead of guns and grenades, players are given swords, shields, maces, battleaxes and longbows. Set in a fictional, yet gritty and realistic world, players will fight in fast paced online battles besieging castles, raiding medieval villages and fighting for glory in the arena with up to 32 players.

Key Features:

  • Deep melee combat system provides players with a huge range of responsive combat options
  • Adjust your attacks and blocks in real time with the mouse for precise and full control of the action
  • Wield an arsenal of up to 60 brutal weapons ranging from broad swords and battle axes to longbows and javelins
  • Dynamic objective system brings team tactics and strategy to the forefront as players batter down gates, raid villages and assassinate enemy royalty to achieve victory.
  • Use a variety of siege weapons ranging from catapults, boiling oil, ballista, battering rams and more
  • Vast, lush environments that transport the player to a gritty and immersive medieval world.
  • Offline play options that allow players to gain familiarity with the controls and gameplay before being thrust into the action.

If you like nuanced combat with a suprising amount of depth then this is a game for you. It has a slower pace but its weapon and mechanics variety keep it interesting.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a great game if you're seeking something new instead of your run-off-the-mill FPS.

Instead of firearms, you have an arsenal of different swords, polearms, hammers, bows and arrows.

My verdict after a play-through of Chivalry: MW over 1k hours is, if you have looked at this game and have a competitive mindset, you won't have an easy time getting past the initial rank 0-15 servers.
You will most likely get stomped (both casually and competitive) by people with hundreds or thousands of hours after rank 16, as ranked matchmaking isn't a feature in Chivarly after the initial "newbie" servers and I sadly cannot recommend you look into it, as the competitve scene in AU, NA and EU are dying off. Wait for similar titles as Mordhau to come out in Q3 2017.

The game isn't flawless sadly, as skilled players abuse the real-time swing mechanics to hit you from unnatural and weird angles, as well as map bugs and glitches. Playerbase can be toxic, too.

But, if you just want this game as a casual player, I guess you can try it out. Private and official servers host both vanilla and modded versions of Chivalry, as well as maps with an active playerbase of 1.5-2k players playing.
Although the skill ceiling and ladder is incredibly steep to get into, it's possible to "git gud" at a comp level if you really put your mind into it.

CS 1.6 was the one game I'd put a lot of time into back in the glorious days, but I wouldn't think it would beat the amount of time put into Chivalry: MW from my behalf.

Beware that Chivarly is often on sale, so grab it at it's lowest.

tl;dr: Recommended if you're a filthy casual having fun with friends.

PS: Don't waste your money on Deadliest Warrior. It's bugged, glitchy and an awful experience compared to MW. Mouse and keyboard recommended.

For the first 15 levels of the game, it's fun. Everyone is new (Except the ones that make a new account so they can grief the lower level players) and the playstyles are pretty straight forward.
After level 15, you are forced into the "Standard" servers where everyone is using any gimic they can find. Rips the fun out of mechanics and makes it slightly infuriating.

Download the Deadliest Warrior dlc.

Pick Ninja, go on team survival, convince your team of ninja players to hide.
Laugh as the enemy teams yell at you for winning through greater numbers when the timer goes out as they do not understand stealth is the true ninja way.

Ever wanted to play a game where you are rewarded for exploiting? Look no further.

POSTIVES
- It only somtimes ruins friendships.
- Once in a while, you come accross a nice server with a good community. Most people on them are very heflpul. It only lasts a week because the server owner can't pay rent.
- Fire Pots

CONS
- Once you are past Level 15, the game immediately is no longer fun. IE, you are kicked out of the noob servers.
- There are many high level players that are complete ♥♥♥♥♥ about their skill, even though all they know how to do is use gambles and glitch out the game.
- Archers.
- More Archers.
- Fire Pots
- The game is literally a salt mine.
- Leave while you still can.

Well this game is truly magnificant in every way possible, from getting slaughtered to being beheaded and your character gurgyling of blood once hes been killed, is definatly one of the best experiences ive had in a while.
Good things:
Well you can make yo moma jokes whick is bloody fantastic
You can teabag
All the classes and weapons are very balanced
Graphics are on point
taunting is also good
Being able to cut off limbs with laughter once your opponent is dead
The glitches that can happen to your ragdoll are unbeatable
and i can on and on but i think the list would've crashed valve
You can decapitate peoples heads :)
Range of weapons and classes
You can get but ♥♥♥♥♥ multiple times
Negative:
You dont really get a tuturiol and just get plopped right in the middle of a blood bath
You always get DE_stroyed by someone with high ping
This game will cause you to call BS at the screen multiple times in a minute
Sometimes little pathetic throwing knives can go through your thick shield
You will always get double, triple and quadrouple teamed and you cant do anything about it
Full of people with high ping
sometimes lack of servers to your liking
You will get rekt by noobs at some point

Unfortunatly you can get offended by the yo moma jokes
11/10 would decapitate heads
